I've been a Bass watchers for many years as a matter a fact since it started. I remember with bill dance and Larry Nixon, Hank Parker, Rick clunn is the iron horse in Bass fishing there's so many great fishing pro's in Bass and we owe Ray Scott for all of it and may rest in peace and thank you Ray for everything in the sport
I seriously can’t get enough of the history at BASS. I can feel the photo’s. I also feel like I missed out by not following along years ago. Well done BASS. Cheers
It's always interesting the difference between how anglers view the Classic vs the marketing and public opinion. Ask 100 random people if they remember an angler of a year vs have they heard of the Classic and nobody remembers the AOY. But it's so important to the actual people in the sport.
Met Larry at anglers choice in va around 2010. My dad had terminal cancer and Larry was so nice to him, they talked like old buddies the whole time. I love the cast, I constantly watch 80s n 90s BASS tournaments. Thank you!
Truly deserving of that mention...the late David Wharton (with the "Wh" sound to start his last name). Thanks, Larry and thanks B.A.S.S. for this series! I was fortunate to fish with both David and "Whiteshoes" Torian!
I've followed B.A.S.S. since I was a kid! Was a BASS member, always looked forward to the next issue of BASS magazine, loved to watch the tv end of it and still watch today along with the magazines! The Cast is a great trip down memory lane, love it!
I watched and loved Bass Masters and I watched every episode. God Bless Ray Scott and his dream of bass fishing.Ray made childhood great may he RIP🙏🇺🇸😂
Being at B.A.S.S. event in the 80's was legendary. Nixon, Brauer, Hibdon, Elias, Martin, the names go on. The General will always be at the top of the list! #ozark strong
Saturday mornings Al Linder, The Fishin Hole, Fishing with Roland Martin, Bill Dance Outdoors, Fishing with Orlando Wilson, Hank Parkers Outdoors, The Bass Masters
Please make one about Jack Wingate. I knew him before he passed , he was a great man. My friend Gizmo and I were only 19 and a fairly decent tournament just blasted off, we came in to get breakfast right after since we were checking livewells. We both said good morning Mr. Jack. He took his eyes off his paper and looked at us like we were silly. We both said what did we do. He smoked and said I can't believe you two aren't fishing the tournament. Mr Jack we don't have the money for it we said. He gave us a stern look and voice and said I do, all you had to do was ask, I've been watching you two boys fish the bank and I'd put up the money just to watch you compete. We both looked at each other and smiled with pride because a true legend of the sport just acknowledged us with high praise of our fishing skill. There's a bass club down there called the Hydrilla Gnats Bass Club, some of the best fisherman I know including my buddy Gizmo and myself fished with them. Jack Wingate was our first honorary member. I'll be 38 this year. Thank you Mr. Jack just for believing in two lost young boys trying to find a place in the world. I will never forget the man, the legend, the Sage of Lake Seminole, Mr. Jack Wingate.
Jack Wingate and his Lunker Lodge were synonymous with Lake Seminole. As well as Mr. Tommy Shaw was the man most associated with Clark's Hill. And Mr. Junior Collis ,who was synonymous with Lakes Oconee and Sinclair
I can remember watching BASS on Canadian television in the 80’s and thinking, what is this hype about a little green pickle all about. All these years later, being a fishing guide for Salmon, steelhead and Sturgeon, I spend all my free time, watching Bass videos and fishing for these Pickles on my days off. Maybe it’s the lore BASS helped create, maybe it’s the long list of quality people the bass fishing world has given us, or maybe it’s just the sporty behaviour of the species. I still absolutely love catching Steelhead, but in the back of my head, I see myself walking the bank of a local slough, pitching into the wood and pulling out another 5 pounder, like a 10 year old kid.
What a great series looking back at this sport. It's nostalgic to see these films. Keep em coming. P.S. these anglers did this with skill not technology i.e.live scope or front facing sonar. Keep that in mind. 👍
Ive watched over an over thanks jm I'll cherish this for years an years next we need info on some of the older anglers an how they got started an wins an life in between an a legends tournament would be the cherry on top with the most popular guys of the 70s..80s..90s win b.a.s.s wins or angler of the year so many people would go crazy an wanna come an watch
The good old magical day of BASS are long gone. If BASS would start to do the mystery lake for the classic. Most of the anglers of today wouldn’t know what to do. This is what made the heyday of BASS more special
I was 5 years old in 1978. I remember playing "hookie" from church with my dad to watch the Sunday morning fishing shows on the DFW channel 11 Station. Bill Wallace, Jimmy Houston, and Bill Dance. I never got a chance to meet Bill Wallace I have shaken hands with Jimmy Houston and Bill Dance. I thank the Bass Master Classics of 2013 and 2021 for that chance.
I agree the consistency of angler of the year titles is more impressive than a classic win. Not taking anything away from the classic but consistency is key
Love see'n them old Skeeters. Also would like to see todays "super stars" hit the lake with an old school Lowrance depth finder. Probly couldnt tune it to get a proper depth...
These were the good old days when you could learn tips and tricks techniques just from a tv show!!!!!! And look at it now. Nothing but commercials! Ray Scott is rolling in his grave to see his baby destroyed 😢😢😢😢
There’s something about Bob Cobbs voice that brings back so many memories of growing up in the 80s and 90s
Bring that old bassmaster song back! Keep the current classic music but find a place to put that old bassmasters intro to live. 🙏
Hands down best thing on TV. History of why we do what we do.
Do you compete? I wish I had!

Yes, sir, they were the best days. I can remember making sure I was home on Saturday afternoon to watch and record Bassmaster. Fond memories.
Saturday mornings Al Linder, The Fishin Hole, Fishing with Roland Martin, Bill Dance Outdoors, Fishing with Orlando Wilson, Hank Parkers Outdoors, The Bass Masters
Loved it!!...half sleeping on the couch watching those. I still do it sometimes. The old ESPN Outdoors block and TNN and TBS shows.

Smirked not smoked

Interesting watching Megabass tourney video, Bee Branch was well represented. Thanks BASS & Ronnie for another great video presentation.
Great series and great idea.
I never missed a show.
As a kid , bassmasters was my favorite, id be so mad if i slept through it. It usually was on at like 5am, pretty rough time for avg kid
The show needs to be longer!!! Great show!
Love these Cast shows. These guys were my hero’s growing up. Now days win a tournament no big deal with livescope.
Naw it's still a big deal cause ALL have it it's still very hard to win the classic
Come on guys we need some more ! Could listen to this for the rest of my days . Excellent video !
Great job with these memories.

🍺Enjoyed it🤠.
This is REALLY REALLY GOOD! Great to be educated on all of the history!

Man what a time. So many fishing heros. Paul Elias. Still holds the all time weight record in a tournament. 132.8 lbs. Wont be broke in my life time.
Awesome videos bassmaster!!

Definitely good times! Also, a terrible generalization of today’s anglers. Enjoy
These are EPIC!

Been addicted since early 70s. Glad I didn't miss that time

Many great anglers have fished BASSMASTERS but none were better than Clunn
Love clunn but hard to say who was best ever look at KVD and Roland's records just saying
Love see'n them old Skeeters. Also would like to see todays "super stars" hit the lake with an old school Lowrance depth finder. Probly couldnt tune it to get a proper depth...

I wish i would of new about when i was a kid i would of watch it but i had to always catch bill dance 😊
Right!... Hey buddy, I can't go...I'm awatchin' the Orlando Wilson fishin' show. How ironic!
@@andywilliamson7846 I also watch fishing with Roland Martin
All I ever wanted to be was Bill dance
Why can't it be like that now, now it just the livescope bullshit.
Greatest bass angler ever was Buck Perry hands down, no contest.
" they could've won the classic at any time " 😂
