I like how at 2:32 Daigo messed with Nuki's prediction by uppercutting instead of grabbing like he'd been doing the whole round. The fact these guys are analyzing each other to the point they remember the little details like that is...amazing.
@IlluminusQ heres a clue: start to charge immediately after you release a kikoken and release it AFTER previous kikoken disappears from the screen. If kikoken disappears by clashing another projectile, you can throw it faster.
0:25... is the comboe that follows the FA crumple Chun-Li specific. I know ryu can usually do CMP CMP CMK hurricane but doesn't the huricane usually wiff when it's don after FHP?????!
Well, the Ryu-Sagat match-up has taken Daigo by suprise more than once, so it's logical to assume he would have focused on improving it. The Mago match was the result of that improvement :P
I think that's a one frame link. Two frame links are piss easy. I think forward medium into CLP is two frame for Abel but I'm pretty sure the HP one is one frame. That's why it sometimes doesn't come out!
i think it was cuz the past few games daigo played after the punch he goes for a grab occasionally so he assumed he would grab so he tried to counter or something its about predicting so he over predicted
@azarel7 lol wrong transalation. He sayed Nuki wasn't desperate for the win just like him cause its only a casual. He also includes in the beggining that 3 rounds doesn't show anything.
yeah it does work even following a FHP. And some might say that FHP followed by shoryuken is so yesterday, but works like a charm, plus, it's easy to follow it up with FA-dash cancel into ultra. Also it's arguable that the longer combo does more stun since the amount of stun decreases the more inputs you put in a combo. The bad side of doing FHP CMP CMP is that the link isn't very friendly, I am no pro, I can't pull it off consistently on matches, so I'll stick with what's simple and works =).
@datriadx18 haha..it's funny, i know you posted over a year ago, but it's funny how the perception of this game has changed. back when you posted this it was like "WOW, 2 crouching strongs into a crouching forward", now it's become commonplace and nearly every ryu does it :D still awesome to see, though!
Well said man. I can't possibly argue with that. All I can say is that if you keep trying to do the difficult more powerful combos, your execution should eventually improve. But I guess if I had a money match and landed a FHP i'd probably do the same as you. But in casuals you should practice it. Thanks for the info anyway. Good luck mate!
nope, it wiffs if the guy is either crouched and very occasionally, if you get the frame right you actually make the EX-Tatsumaki miss as well from a CMP CHP EX-Tatsumaki. I usually do FA FHP Shoryuken, so much simpler, then again I am no pro =(
@bahaanaldo i looked up it again and noticed that it was a cheap... so, if daigo had tried to grab him, nuki might have done a crouch tech. so he decided not to take the risk and won the round cheap. nuki was already defending. actually, there is nothing mentally amazing as you claimed.
Okay I see where you are coming from, i'm sure it was a very precise move and all, but see the orb where it says victory? on a normal victory it will have a V (as it does on the chun-li's) but when it is a chip damage win it has a C, for super victory's it is a S, and for ultra's U.
Well I didn;t know Dhalsim could eat that kinda combo. That's kinda harsh considering his short life bar. And YES! It does work on Rufus. I main Rufus and I've been on the receiving end. Oh the pain!!!!!!!
The Character you're missing is easy for me to I.D cus i main him and I feel the pain of that particular combo. Rufus! His hit box is bread and butter for shoto combos! Cheers for the valuable info. That Fei Long combo sounds ridiclous! Wow... I gotto see it! I still think the Chun-;i one is the worst. I mean wow. It's simialr to waiting for Genie Jin to end when you're on the recieving end of such a long combo!
@User333777999 The fact you're assuming something about me is...ignorant. I'm simply praising the mental components of the match. Nothing more. For all we know, it could have been OS. But I'm not really able to tell, since I wasn't personally there.
So CMP, CMP CMK, hurricane works on everyone I know. But are you saying it still works on all characters even when combod following a FHP? I don't have the game so I can't test it! also... FHP Shoryu is so yesterday. Start implimenting the more difficult combos after ladning a FHP. Don't be too basic. You'll get much more stun and a bit more damage from doing the more difficult links! Trust me. This is another reason why Ryu's moved up the tier list
"I don't think he really wanted to win. In fact we had a fight like we usually have"...lolol..is he saying that Nuki doesn't want to win and always gets whipped...
he didnt learn shizzlits from poongko. poognko has no mind games. daigo doesnt need much of those combos but screw it.. i like how u got every to read ur message though. lol
once and at2:05 if he had ex lightning kicked one more tim then ultra him he most likely would have nuki is really good but he be actin dumb at the end of most of his matches
@User333777999 lol C is for chip.. and chip isn't cheap.. learn to deal with chip potentialities.. a simple dash back would have sufficed.. personally i'm glad nuki lost.. there was NOTHING amazing about his poor poke timings. better player won

It's crazy how accurate Daigo's link timing is... that was 3 consecutive 1-frame links O_O
ahaha, I sometimes try the FMK dash HP cancel into Change of direction from Abel, that's a 2 frame window, but it rarely ever comes out.
0:25... is the comboe that follows the FA crumple Chun-Li specific. I know ryu can usually do CMP CMP CMK hurricane but doesn't the huricane usually wiff when it's don after FHP?????!

at the end of the 2nd round, why did daigo do a shoryuken? he couldn't have expected chunli to unblock?
you can usually see an os tho so he didnt sweep here.. but your right about the block string.. he was trapped.
I think that's a one frame link. Two frame links are piss easy. I think forward medium into CLP is two frame for Abel but I'm pretty sure the HP one is one frame. That's why it sometimes doesn't come out!
Daigo mastered the best punish moves.
I'm confused at what happened at 2:05. Was Daigo just counting on Nuki not to gaurd when he dp>fc>ultra'd?
question: why did daigo throw much less hadoukens and go more melee this round? Is it because of chun li's overhead flip kick or something?
i think it was cuz the past few games daigo played after the punch he goes for a grab occasionally so he assumed he would grab so he tried to counter or something its about predicting so he over predicted
@azarel7 lol wrong transalation. He sayed Nuki wasn't desperate for the win just like him cause its only a casual. He also includes in the beggining that 3 rounds doesn't show anything.
he was 16 or 17 in '98 when he faced Alex Valle for the first time in the state for a SF:Alpha 3 national tournament. Do the math from there. ^^

god dam ryu damage output was fucking incredible in this game @ :23 into the match it was like he landed an ultra LMAO
i think he didnt want to get ultra'd through the fireball
@bahaanaldo the fact that you dont know anything about crouch tech is... amazing.
nope, it wiffs if the guy is either crouched and very occasionally, if you get the frame right you actually make the EX-Tatsumaki miss as well from a CMP CHP EX-Tatsumaki.
I usually do FA FHP Shoryuken, so much simpler, then again I am no pro =(
It's written Tokidokinukinkusu
@bahaanaldo actually, you dont have much chance against a frame trap..
@bahaanaldo i looked up it again and noticed that it was a cheap... so, if daigo had tried to grab him, nuki might have done a crouch tech. so he decided not to take the risk and won the round cheap. nuki was already defending. actually, there is nothing mentally amazing as you claimed.
That's why it's the physic shoryu

Precise? It was a chip damage finish. :P
That and also even if she blocks he could FADC and then do another that woul certainly chip her to death.
nuki should have seen it coming. daigo was just blocking those fireballs
A part of me wanted to be wrong! Damn Shotos. i'm switching to Ken. He's so much more fun than most characters!
Wasnt it something like 50 percent damage ? lol
0:26... crazy, crazy links.
Well I didn;t know Dhalsim could eat that kinda combo. That's kinda harsh considering his short life bar. And YES! It does work on Rufus. I main Rufus and I've been on the receiving end. Oh the pain!!!!!!!
Guess which one is dead?

best part: 0:36 - 1:00
@crapzors it's either a gene thing or he drinks a lot of green tea
Actually, it might be better seen from 2:00... :P
i wish i could throw chun li's fireballs that fast lol
sweet!
@crapzors its from standing still and concetrating lol
@User333777999 The fact you're assuming something about me is...ignorant. I'm simply praising the mental components of the match. Nothing more. For all we know, it could have been OS. But I'm not really able to tell, since I wasn't personally there.

@lupinyonsei
Ah ha...now I understand...he's referring to casuals...got it..
@crapzors Daigo, like Kane, has Scrin DNA.
okay, so chunli had a drop of life left, that was why. my bad for before... =[
daigo is a lil too humble sometimes
0:25 that combo made me cringe...what a beast
he's 28
Level 50 trial mode.
Just sayin, Bruce Lee aint selling Bow flexes. If you know what I mean. Wink wink.
@User333777999 thanx man.. .i'll try it :)
once and at2:05 if he had ex lightning kicked one more tim then ultra him he most likely would have nuki is really good but he be actin dumb at the end of most of his matches
thats the fattest fa combo ever

better player won
this is quite possibly the worst match in history
