Another excellent carving, well done. I have nearly completed my first big carving, it was a pine tree that is still in the ground. I am wondering if you could help me with if I need to treat the wood and then what I should finish it with.

I wonder if the canola helps keep the wood from getting stained bar oil dark when it's spitting out the tip?
