I love the realism You add to the owl Eric! I know you’ve made a lot of great carvings, and from all the videos I’ve watched of yours, this has got to be in the top 5 if not 3, of your best work yet! Great job! Keep it up! 🤘🏽😎👉🏽 🦉
I retired a year ago. I've been wondering around my property completely lost. What am I gonna do now? I'm bored as could be! My dad passed a couple years ago. He was a master carpenter. Im living in the house he built before he passed. I do miss the old fart. I was a metal guy, welder for 30 years. When Pop died I got a barn FULL of his wood working equipment & hand tools. I also noticed a SHIT TON of dead oak trees on our place. By watching you I may of found my new calling! In my 53 years on this planet I have NEVER seen anybody selling chain saw carvings around here. I have one small bear carving but I got it in Pennsylvania 15 years ago. I am cleaning out the wood shop today as you have shown me a new light to chase! I haven't been this excited to start a new career as I am right now!!! If there's one thing I have a lot of, its spare time & dead seasoned oak trees! I do make sterling silver jewelry. From raw silver to rings. I do it all but I HATE IT with a passion!!! I keep looking at all those wood working tools each & every day. I'm very GLAD I didn't sell anything when Pop passed. I almost did but something kept me from doing it. We had Oak Wilt devastate our property 15 years ago. 7K acres where more than half the Oaks died! That's a lot of dead oak trees! The dead trees are disease free now & they are hard as concrete. I have trees with 10 ft diameters & up to 15 feet tall. I see a future 10+ foot tall BIGFOOT in a tree below my house, arms raised and all. Long story short, you CAN teach an old dog new tricks... YOU sir have lit a raging inferno under my ass & I'm gonna take full advantage of it... Maybe I will go from "🇨🇱 The Flat Rock Iron Forge 🇨🇱" to: "🇨🇱 The Flat Rock Wood Forge 🇨🇱". Thanks hoss!!!
Wet good work I like the wing detail.... the next owl carving I do of an owl won’t be a speed carving, it will be a detailed one and I will use more power tools than chainsaw 👍 I’ll send you a link when it’s uploaded 😁
Hey Eric, absolutely love your work and have learned so much from watch but I could not see what bit you had in the Dremel for the feather detail, could you share? Thanks
I'm need some advise, what about regular pine, how do you dry it with all the sap in it, can you use it soon as you cut or will the chainsaw be stick from sap?
Fantastic. Best full carving I've seen in a long while 👍🇬🇧🙋🏼♂️
Great video and a beautiful carve!😊❤

Nice, looks great. Are you carving in a different spot now? Looks warmer.
Can I just get large logs from my yard or does it have to be seasoned? I wanna try this just for fun
👍👍
Man this turned out awesome Eric ! The detail. ! Looks like you mostly used a round wheel to carved the feathers?
That round wheel you use in the dremel. Is that course or fine. I’m getting one for sure.
