that movie gets no love, but out of all of the Ip Man movies, this one is as close as it could be to what really happened in the life of Ip Man and his first generation students. Of course they had to include some silly action plots to make it interresting, but aside from that the events of the movies are pretty close from the truth.

5 Types of Lions in this :
1 - Southern Lion (mostly it has a different style named, “Fo Shan” because the style of the mouth, even there’s another called, “He Shan”)
2 - Hainan Tiger (mostly not a lion, but called a Tiger Dance)
3 - Northern Lion (The dances are usually more playful than the Southern Chinese Lion’s and can sometimes include a “family” of lions)
4 - Hokkien Lion (or called a Green Lion, but aggressive and fierce)
5 - Hakka Lion (Hakka Lion in a different style, but also kinda look similar to a Hainan Tiger)

You got it wrong. It’s Fut San lion (Buddah Mountain) which is the correct way of lion dancing traditionally. I didn’t see any Northern lion in this movie. which is called Bak Si. Hakka lion is not in this movie but was in Wong Fei Hung Jet Li. Looks typically green and similar to Northern Lion. The yellow and black Lion is not tiger. It’s still Fut San. The green Lion is Hokkien but really is Hakka style of Fut San. Hok San lion looks like a frog 🐸 flat mouth but isn’t even in this movie. It’s now more widely spread in Lion dance competitions. Mostly made in Malaysia and Singapore but now Hong Kong.

they don't have Ip Man school do the dragon dance in the movie. But since Ip Man was close friends with other sifu that taught southern martial arts, and traditionally southern schools would put up lion dance shows for businesses and celebrations. Like Choy Lay Fut schools and Hung Ga schools.
Although these days even some Wing Chun schools have lion dance..
