  • Put a twist on your monoprinting experience - use gel medium instead of paint to create some clearly different Gelli Arts® prints! Blog post here - gelliarts.blogspot.com/
Gel medium is essentially acrylic paint without pigment. It goes on milky white and dries clear. We're making a clear print, which we'll use as a resist. This technique will work with either gloss or matte. I'm using Golden Regular Gel Gloss Medium- but use what you have and see how it prints.

Cleaning the Gelli plate is super easy! Baby wipes are a favorite way to clean the plate - especially while working on it (if you want a clean plate) but also washing it with basic dish detergent and water is great too. Happy printing!

This is a very good idea. I often want the positive design of the stencil and not the negative spaces. Thank you.

I'm making scrapbook pages for each state I've traveled in (47 so far). Had ideas but wasn't sure until after watching this video. I'm new to Gelli prints. But, now will make prints on maps from each state!! I'll go to AAA to get maps of Alaska and Hawaii. I'm gonna start on this tomorrow since we r in middle of rain storm and good day to stay in!!! Thanks

I liked this idea but wonder if it cab be expanded to be used in other ways too.
I thought by the title that all the work would be done on the gelli using acrylics then printed out onto paper from it.
I don't own gel medium but do own clear gloss medium and after watching this video will be buying some floating medium to try with this technique.
I think this would also be a nice method for adding a clear shimmer, holographic, glitter, etc as a finishing touch over a print.

Instead of stain can transparent paint be used? I don't see that anyone from Gelli is actually monitoring responses so if anyone knows thanks!

Would have been very helpful if you had slowed down the process and provided some narration. But then what do I know....

go to 3 dots at top right hand corn. Go to speed of video and slow it down.

    • @ladydarkvixen9728

I had to change the speed to 1/2 speed! That’s insanely fast! Also, did you clean the plate between uses?
