Lovely pen. New subscriber. I hope to get a sailor fountain pen for my birthday 😁. My grail fountain pen would be mont blanc meisterstuck. Ill have to wait until im rich 😁
I've had a KoP for about 6 months, the ebonite one with a broad nib. It is a lot of fun to write with. It really shows off the inks. I use it when I want to write big and slow. There is an angle at which I can barely feel the nib/paper interface when writing. It seems to like a soft touch. It subtly lets me know when I'm rotating the pen. This is my first Sailor pen. I enjoy just looking deep into the black ebonite, the only metal on the outside being the clip. I think I might like using refilled cartridges more than the converter. Bigger converter would be nice.
The only real downside of the KOP is the size of the converter, especially if you want to have a B nib. Sadly I just got one converter made in Australia that holds more than 5 times the amount of ink, they are not available anymore. Everything else is just great, I have a couple of them, and I love them both.
I just ordered Sailor Pro Gear Realo with Medium nib, returning Fine as it is super fine. Would you recommend Sailor Realo Medium or King of Pen Medium?
The nibs of the KOPs are MUCH better than the ones in all the other Sailor fountain pens. They all have a special feeling when using them because everyone "behaves" differently.
See, I didn't feel that with this nib HOWEVER, I've not had it for a long time. I just didn't think it was worth it for me. I think it's always good to try pens out if you can, before buying.
@@maximilianschwab9668 I agree, max. And every writer's hands and writing orientation differs a bit. After watching a heap of writers actually writing,it looks to me like some start off writing with the nib at a distinct angle or rotate the wrist when writing;others might have less-than-traditional grip etc. Add to that the varieties of ink/paper. And the loveliest aspect of all is that each pen has its own personality, just like the writer. PS:I think that keeping the price of the pen in mind whether you've purchased it or not has a tendancy to influence the experience. Even that is relative.
I also agree with Max. The KOP nib is an entirely different experience than sailors smaller nibs. It's much softer, wetter, and smoother. It's a unique experience. IMO one of the best nibs currently being made.
Lovely pen.

Refilling cartridges is a good idea. I always feel I can get more ink in there. I'm glad you enjoy yours so much!

Yeah it's pretty small!

Thanks for saving me $880. Nib has to be at least twice as good as a Pro Gear to be worth anywhere near the price.
