The Cobra was on average longer on every hole you measured before the sudden death hole, so I would have gone with which one was longer on average versus which one just happened to be the single longest shot. On the next to last hole, the Stealth averaged 263.5 while the Cobra averaged 270. Great video, and I think the Cobras have been pretty spectacular since the F9. I personally prefer the milled face to the carbon one, but all of these are excellent drivers.
I am going and buying myself a cobra driver, I think the COBA’s are so awesome. I just bought myself the Threewood max and it’s awesome, thank you so much for all your videos. You are awesome I’m going to get a cobra amen. Happy Easter.
Great vid. When i got fitted both of these drivers were really close for me in dispersion and max distance. But the ltdx had more avg distance due to better forgiveness on mishits. Though I ended up with a diff club, these were really good and beat my old club easily.
This video was better than the last matchup, and that was great. Really enjoyed the suspense in this one! Looking forward to seeing the rest and how the Cobra does overall!
Have always played with Cobra's.. have 5 cobra drivers.. just got a set of ltdx irons and all new ltdx drivers and woods, hybrids. Couldnt get my ball flight lower with the 10.5 ltdx so i bought the Ltdx max 9*..it helped alot! Great clubs! Im hitting it about 20 to 30 yards further with the max and my slice isnt as bad. Love Cobra's!
Considering both of these drivers were so close in comparison, it's hard to argue against the cobra considering it is significantly cheaper than the stealth. Very impressive stuff from cobra recently.
Great video, if people give Cobra a chance, they can compete and beat many brands for less $$$. All the companies are putting out killer drivers. Hit as many as you can and get what you like best. I ended up with a LTD X LS and it is long and even longer on mis-hits than any other driver I tried. 👍👍👍keep'em coming.
I was looking forward to this matchup. You and I have a comparable swing speed and you hit the ball pretty good, as do I. Which is why your reviews give me the most information on how each club might perform for me. I’ve hit all the Stealth models, all the Rogue ST models, all the Cobra LTDx models. I went with the Cobra👍🏻
Same here, Cobra was the clear winner in forgiveness, distance, and dispersion for me. I have 94-96 mph swing speed and saw very little drop in distance with off center hits from the Cobra LTDx.
I played the radspeed xb for a while last year and loved the forgiveness and distance. But later switched to the TSi3 which felt better and went longer. Then came this years models and the rogue st max won the battle. I seem to just hit it straight 90% of the time and longer than the TSi3. Last week put the autoflex shaft in and hit fairway finder bombs all day today. I think the shaft makes a huge difference in dispersion and accuracy. The autoflex is an insane shaft, only wish it was sold at 1/2 price.
Not surprised ,, I checked out the Stealth and the LTDX and left the store with the Cobra ,, far better dispersion ,, longer by 5 - 10 yrds and up here in Canada the Cobra comes in $ 100 less so Cobra wins !
Not the first time I’ve seen other drivers outperform Stealth for ball speed & distance. Seems that carbon face isn’t quite up to Titanium, and I think other companies will resist going there
I have both and noticed the same about feel and distance on the Stealth. I noticed on really good feeling strikes distance was less than I thought. Cobra was longer for me.
Cobra all day, it isn't even close. Better no up charge shafts, $100 cheaper and now they have a all black version. Price to performance is another huge win for cobra. Hell the standard color option is even better looking then the stealth. Cobra for another win. Just wait until the new forged tec coming next month. Those are absolutely awesome.
Pretty exciting ending. For future tournaments, do a round of 6 shots that alternates between the 2 clubs, so 1 cobra then 1 taylormade, to limit getting used to club and adjusting your swing to the club.
I agree that the shafts don’t need to match. It makes sense to find shafts that fit the clubhead. That said, the Ascent choice does a disservice to the stealth for distance. It’s a high torque (4.8), higher spinning shaft. The RDX is 3.4 and much lower spin. Extremely different shafts.
Just got fitted for the LTDx. Must have tried 6 different drivers in multiple configurations and I just couldn’t miss with the Cobra. Great club. Not surprised it won. Cant wait for the rest of the bracket!
Enjoyable video. Another comparo of the 2 tested them with a variety of stock and upcharge shafts. The Aldila in the Stealth was the WORST. It launched HIGHER and carried shorter than all other combos. Food for thought.
Got fitted for a Cobra Ltdx with tensei AV raw white, game changer compare the F8 I was coming from, but what shocked me in results is the fairway 5 Ltdx low spin I got, always with Tensei, best wood ever played, well done Cobra
Great video confirms what a lot of other testers are finding that the Cobra is longer and as accurate. Given its £100 cheaper and has Arcos it has to be a better club on the numbers but having hit both I liked hitting the Stealth more . In the end I got the Sim 2 because it was as good as the stealth maybe more accurate and the best feeling. If you like the Cobra feel though it’s a brilliant club.
Whilst both clubs are great when you think of how small Cobra are in comparison and how brilliant their product is, it wins every single day for me. On average the cobra was far more consistent
Wow! I have just asked my pro to add the Cobra to my fitting next week. It was not on the list to try. After all the hype, I expected this bracket to go Stealth with ease. Notwithstanding the result, I am eager to feel the ball, off the Stealth, you seemed to be surprised by the feel. For me, as a club golfer, forgiveness and dispersion are more important than distance, but who does not want to drive further. That was a great contest.
@@scottamolinari It was an amazing experience and if for only that reason I would recommend it. I went with a totally open mind and a budget of £500 putting most new drivers in reach. I set a benchmark with my 17-year old Callaway Hyper-X and to be honest initially thought I would stick with hit. Then the Rogue was handed to me, I hit a fade to target screaming 30 yards past the Hyper X. The pro screamed “fitting over.” He was concerned we would not find a better match but we kept going, adjusting shafts and heads for each club. In the mix were, the rogue, the stealth, ping G425, the King Cobra, PXG, Titleist TSi2, and Mizuno ST-Z. I was looking for consistent distance, good dispersion and a club that just felt nice. After 60 minutes there were only two clubs in the race - the TSi2 and the Stealth Plus. I just could not mis-hit the TSi2, it kept tight to target and felt gorgeous. The Stealth performed the same but with an extra 10 yards of carry. I got to take both to the course, and the Stealth Plus came out on top. It suits my swing, feels amazing, sounds amazing and proved to be a game changer over my 17 year old club. Before I arrived I had thought I would be leaving with a Rogue, it performed really well as my opening shot indicated, but my slice kept re-emerging and it was less forgiving. But most of all what a fantastic afternoon.
@@LetsPlayThru yes! Later this year or early next year I’m goin to see if either one of them can knock my 2016 M2 out of my bag. Last custom fit last November I averaged 1.49 smash with my Small Batch Evenflow Riptide CB 6.0 shaft. It’s going to be an exciting comparison! The 2016 M2 has been the best driver I’ve ever played and I’ve been playing nearly 30 years! I’ve had so many drivers to list, Ping, Callaway and Cobra but this M2 has been amazing. Tiger woods claimed it was one of the best drivers TM ever produced. It’s super forgiving and long
@@LetsPlayThru just looked at your final four bracket and it looks like it’s going to be Cobra LTDx versus Callaway rogue ST max in the final. Gonna be close but I think the Rouge is going to win
Gabe you have put out some excellent videos, this is one is one of your best. Talk about two heavy weights. Honestly it almost seemed like you knew the Cobra was the better one, but wanted the Stealth to win. LOL So you gave it one more shot to prove it and at the end it didn’t. I haven’t tried the Stealth, and won’t. It’s just too overpriced. Even if it would have won by say 10 yards I still wouldn’t purchase it. Those few yards to me aren’t worth the extra cost. I may try it against my G425 in a sim to compare for fun. I will be using my Ping for this yr and wait to see what they bring out for 2023. Will put it head to head for sure against the Rogue. I’m heading to Phoenix Apr 3-6 can’t wait to put my new shaft on the Ping to the test on course. Again great job.
Please elaborate why you prefer the Hazrdus Smoke Blue shaft - this is a mid-high flex shaft. I've been playing golf a long time but just now really getting back into it and learning all the numerous data / tech these days like MOI, Smash, Flex, Torque, etc. I just bought the Cobra LTDx with Hazrds Smoke shaft, regular/mid flex. Thanks for your videos!
Ended up trying both including the Callaway Rogue, ended up choosing the Cobra Black Limited Edition which is sleek and super sexy, glad that I appeared to have made the right choice!
I greatly appreciate your honesty with these clubs, and with others you've reviewed, thank you. I gotta get my hands on a Garmin! As I said in another video I believe the Cobra is a better club overall, total value. Tech and price point. I'm looking at the LTD Max, I need a lil draw bias, lol.
Great review Gabe...To bad you could not get the same shaft in them...Shafts do make a dfference..I play KBS and True Temper in my irons..and find that the True Temper is a bit longere and higher..Drivers might be the same way....For the price point and results , I would go with the Cobra all day long...Oh Gabe one more note here...why don't you hit a white ball and a yellow ball for the difference drivers, much easier to see and tell them apart...just a thought.....
Wow great contest! They are both great drivers and you were hitting some great shots. Yes the Cobra by just a smidge was longer all day except for 1 hole. I'm a little biased because my driver is the Cobra LTDX that I bought a few weeks ago. Smash factor was up on mine too when testing. Still they both are great drivers.
Cobra had it for distance all the way through the test, if it wasn't for the 277 stealth on the first distance test it was a clean sweep to that point!
I love both of these drivers to be honest. Cobra, here in the UK, also is a bit cheaper and that definitely helps sway some people when it comes to buying a particular club. Great video again, Gabe 👍. P.S. I see a Galloway Mavrik package set has been unveiled here in the UK. 10 piece set for £1199.00. I think that just over $1500.00 for you guys. Looks a lovely set. These package sets are really taking off here.
Very similar results I got as well when trying them. Cobra edged out tm in pure distance but tm eventually got the win for forgiveness. Great video as always.
Hi I watched a video recently where you pointed out your optimum spin was 2000rpm. I'm trying to discover the best numbers for me - spin, launch, dynamic loft etc. How did you discover your best numbers? Thanks 👍
Gabe, after measuring with the G80, do you keep it in your pocket or bag during your round. Also, do you use a screen protector for it? Just curious, as I'm expecting my G80 any day now. And, I want to be sure to be careful with it. Thanks.
Awesome work! Had a couple more subs to your channel from my club where your March Madness has sparked a conversation! We were talking about it on the range today. These on-course tests are so much more fun than the generic launch monitor testing most other channels are doing. If I'm paying out £500 for a driver I want to see it hit on a golf course. Its going to take a great club, and probably a 280 yd drive to knock the Cobra off its perch!
Good test but not a fair test. The Cobra won hands down after 3 regulation holes because it blew away Stealth on the 2nd hole and the 1st hole was fairly close and the 3rd hole the 2 Cobra drives combined were further than the 2 Stealth drives combined. Easiest way to determine the distance winner is add up total yards for all 6 drives of each club, if you did that then Cobra clearly wins after 3 holes. Cheers
I was ready to crown it on the last test before sudden death but when the Stealth squeaked it out, I thought I better do just one more to make sure. So close all day for both.
Gabe, a really good test of these clubs, and it went the way I thought it would. The cobra is getting some really positive reviews. I struggle with drivers due to a poor swing and put to in. Was surprised you went into the wind for a fade as the ball Is likely to go off very wide as the cobra did.
Big fan of the channel and love the content….was a great video to watch. If there is one thing I would like to see in the content is spin rate numbers to compare those numbers and see what affect it is having on distance. Cobra definitely seemed to be lower spinning with the hazardous shaft, would be interesting to see how much lower. Can’t go wrong with either driver….can’t wait to see the rest of the bracket.
The Cobra was on average longer on every hole you measured before the sudden death hole, so I would have gone with which one was longer on average versus which one just happened to be the single longest shot. Gabe, a really good test of these clubs, and it went the way I thought it would. The cobra is getting some really positive reviews. I struggle with drivers due to a poor swing and put to in. Was surprised you went into the wind for a fade as the ball
Is likely to go off very wide as the cobra did.
Great video
They don’t use smash to determine the legality anymore. They use different metrics now. You can occasionally get a 1.51 on a perfect smash.
Thanks for the suggestion Jason. May do this during the semifinals, and def for the championship matchup.
