Thanks Gary appreciate you tuning in - had lots of people contact me on my past video about this building - so many people have memories of the place and stories to tell - such a tragic end
So sad to see.. I worked there in the 90's and lived in the nurses home next door. I have a spooky tale.. Im going to tell it on my channel for Halloween 👻 I will link this video in the description box. Thanks for sharing that.. I have so many memories.
Hi - oh wow how interesting - I will look out for this story it will be fascinating to hear a spooky tale from someone such as yourself who previously worked there and thank-you 🙂
Hi Heather - if they were to be a new development spring up here I wouldn’t be surprised if the ghostly stories continue - there are supposed to be underground cellars beneath the building too - whether these are still intact is uncertain - thanks again for tuning in 🙂
Thats so sad to see, having made a few videos here ourselves over the years.. We must try to get down there with our drone before they pull it all down.. 😢 Nicely made video btw. Em & Stu 👍
It is a tragic end for this iconic structure. I was informed there are cellars beneath this building and on closer inspection the flooring does seem to have collapsed downwards which seems to have exposed some brickwork below ground level. It is difficult to tell for sure because there is so much debris left after the fire. If there are indeed cellars here, assuming the building is to be demolished they are most likely to be filled in sadly. Thanks again guys for your support over the last few years it is much appreciated
Just uploaded a short video of when me and a former friend visited there in June 2017. I never ended up uploading it to my channel for whatever reason. Sad to hear the remaining building got demolished. Wish we brought a ladder wish us so we could have explored the top floor as other Urban Explorers did.
Hi - it is a devastating shame to lose such an iconic building in such a manner. The top floor was in remarkably good condition - I think it was saved by the fact the staircase was removed many years ago so explorers were never able to gain access so easily. I think there was possibly a basement / cellars underneath too but these probably got filled with rubble after the building was sadly demolished
My mother in laws mother worked her un 1956/57 and shared stories of some of the treatments that she saw taking place here. Very sad to see it has been torched and gone forever......first thoughts was thst it was wanted for development but listed......second was fornthe poor souls trapped there, sweet release we hope and not trapped forever and a second suffering x
Hi Katie - thanks for sharing your stories of the asylum and nice to hear from someone who is a relative of someone with close connections to the site 🙂
This is very close to me, a few mins away. The pyromaniacs have been busy in this area, there is an abandoned gym the set alight too not that far from here. Great video as always, thanks for sharing.
Thanks again for tuning in. This derelict building always seemed quite an eerie place just standing alone and isolated on waste ground with the abandoned morgue behind it. A morbid end for the building - had many people in Norwich with past connections to this building contacting me with their memories of the place - such a shame
There have been more than enough fires in abandoned buildings within shouting distance of here over the years. The Griffin Pub was set alight a couple of years ago and, coincidentally, the owners wanted to flatten it and build new housing..... Pinebanks is another prime example. Crocked House pub, anyone? The standard MO of a developer who's not getting their way with planners is to arrange for a place to be torched in the expectation that it is so badly damaged that repair is not an option. Sickening. Still, at least they catch the occasional arsonist. Fingers crossed.
Interesting video thank you. Such a same these old buildings keep going up in smoke, this place, the Griffin and little Plumstead a few years ago, has to be something fishy when developers are involved. Was St Andrews hospital anything to do with St Andrews park?
Hi Paul - I’m not sure if the park is linked to the St Andrew’s Hospital - however there is a long forgotten burial ground which contains the burials of over 1,000 former St Andrew’s patients within the Broadland Business Park which is located just off Memorial Way
Thanks for tuning in. Such a sorry end for this historic building. Some ex staff who worked here contacted me with their stories of the building. Quite an active place it seems paranormal wise going by what I’ve been told. Did you ever visit?
Never visited. So sad to see beautiful buildings being replaced by boring modern builds. Wouldnt be surprised if the fire was arson so that planning permission can go ahead to get a housing project underway. This has happened elsewhere. Great photography nonetheless.@@HauntedandAbandonedNorfolk
Plenty of stories circulating about this place - including many ghostly ones. If there were to be a new development spring up here i wouldn’t be surprised if the spooky stories continue
Shame such a beautiful and historic building . Again a beautifully shot video . Thank you

Wow Big like awesome location. 👍
Thank-you - really sad to lose this iconic building - still standing for now but not sure for how long?
Cheers thank you hope all is well.

Really interesting video once again. Its such a shame. I wonder whats next for the building?
The surgery the patients had sounds terrifying !

It was bound to happen. Lovely building, such a waste.

A sad day for Urban explorers
Hi Luke - a very sad day indeed - it was such an iconic building
I guess there's nothing left the do but give the planning permission that couldn't be granted 🤔
A sorry end for such an historic building - sadly there is very little left to save now so we will have to see what happens next I suppose
it got knocked down so it’s gone now.
Very sad 😞
The land is probably worth more than the cost of repairing that building. i'll wager it was an insurance job!.
A tragic ending for such an historic building - just rubble remains now - the morgue still stands behind though
