“Get into a groove and sort of let it take me wherever”….. I just started my own skateboard art shop and this is the absolute best way to describe how to make good skateboard art! Cool video
Santa Cruz has put out some good art so far this year, and had some great art last year, along with some of the historically significant graphics they have made. But the trend, with other companies in skateboard deck art, so far this year has been ugly graphics that look like they have been drawn by children. as well as ugly collages that seem to have been made by preteen girls. How much does a bad graphic effect the sales of a board? People like quasi, but I see all their skateboards are on sale at my local skate shops. Also does it hurt a company to continually reissue their graphics like Powell peralta does? to me there is no long term value in anything they currently make. ( expecting a lot of hate comments as usual )
The trend u mean is not a „skateboarding-deck-graphic-trend“ but more of a „graphic design/illustration - trend“ in general, because companies (also in skateboarding) usually hire graphic designers to do these „artworks“ and these guys get „influenced“ heavily by current trends of the industry / other successful design languages even if unrelated/lacking context…..
@@juzkful So you're saying the problem with the graphics is that they are being made by designers, and not artists? Apparently the designers just copy what is popular, or trendy, and that is why it all comes out looking bland? Am I understanding that correctly? Also if you are going to use punctuation please use it correctly.
