Albert's playing is like he's talking and singing lines on his guitar. every time I run across one of his live concerts I'm blown away. must have been great to be there.

I was at this show. Was a real mind blower for this 15 year old aspiring guitarist. Albert kind of stole the show, his band was on fire and the horns put everything over the top, but Lonnie and Roy were great too.

Thank you....he was wonderful and very kind, glad to have seen him several times. He was very nice and down to earth when I met him.
Being a fan, you end up with some musical insights...and his arranging, selection of drummers, and how they played, the man put together a unique blues package

Think the guys name was George Haines in particular he would play drums like dropping bombs, explosive accents on the one
He worked with huge variety of players. Also Sarah Brown, on bass.
Saw him most often in Austin at antones

@@DreamAuthorityMusic I never got to see Albert live, this show got me into blues heavy after SRV pushed me in that direction. Shame stevie couldn't make it to play with Lonnie. As for Albert I've seen coco Montoya several times and talked with him about albert. He was like a father to him, he taught coco how to play.

Used to see Roy play in DC at My Mothers Place back in the early 70s. He was as Robbie notes as good then as he was when he passed but in reality he was even better. That club was often used by Rory Gallagher whenever he was near & opening for bands like Deep Purple & of course the late great Link Wray . Man those were the days & we miss these guys big time.

I’m lucky to have seen Albert play a couple times in a small club venue in Poughkeepsie NY. Half way into the show he’s on fire! His band The IceBreakers were amazing as well

I saw Lonnie Mack in a club in Vancouver, BC in 1985 or 6. He was playing that same candy red Flying V. It blew my mind, I said to him "That was the greatest thing I've ever seen!!" He said "NO IT WASN'T!!!"

Lonnie mack is from my Hometown of Lawrenceburg Indiana. Saw him in a bar with a roll of Dimes playing a illegal pinball machine. Lonnie was just another guy. Solid and based. Native Hoosier, like me. SRV collaborated with Lonnie, so that says everything. He was Awesome!
