That looks like a nice little setup. The dead cat makes a huge difference. The volume even seemed to pick up. If I can ever find the courage to start vlogging , I would totally consider that setup. LOL... Since I have a face for radio though , I don't know when I would start . Nice review and video! I could totally see Rode sending you more products in the feature. Thanks for sharing!
It really is! The dead cat really helped here as it was that freezing cold type of wind, howling in my face, so I think it cut a lot of that out. I am totally suited for radio 😂 I've always had a hard time sitting in front of the camera, so if I can do it I believe anyone can! Oh I'd love to do more reviews for Rode, they really are top of the pops!
The wind muff (dead cat) really makes a lot of difference. Also the mic makes the sound a lot better also. Another great review as alway. Keep em coming and stay warm over there in Poland. It's hotter than hell here in Australia. Of and also a BIG thumbs up.
The wind muff really makes it very clean, that's true! The mic is a huge difference over the iPhone mic, it sounds a lot deeper, clearer and just a lot more pro. The muff does a great job cleaning up the sound, sure! The light that comes with it is pretty good, however, sure if you'd like a larger more powerful source that you can diffuse, that or the Aputure MC are good choices.
it's cool. I already have a studio Rode microphone which I've been using for musical purposes for like 5 years so I really like the quality of Rode products. BUT, for Vlogging I still think DJI Osmo pocket 2 creator combo is a better option, just my opinion.
It's pretty great, does a really good job! All Rode microphones are amazing, who are we kidding. I have the Osmo Pocket 1, didn't upgrade to the 2, but I've heard it's pretty sweet. If you only have a smartphone though, this is the way to go.
Thank You! What are you interested in? This one is no doubt the best one I've ever tried on a smartphone. Wireless, well Rode Wireless GO is the way I'd go. I use the Rode Videomic Pro+ in my studio and I use the Rode USB Mini as my radio voice for films. I'm basically Rode all the way, I'm open to other companies, but my heart is with Rode. If you want a small vlogging microphone that doesn't need a battery I also use the Rode Video Micro, that thing has fantastic sound and is tiny.

Hi Natalie! Yes, Rode make a awesome vlogging kit, this or the Rode GO II, both are great for vlogging, though the GO II allows you to be fully wireless which is a huge plus for me.
If you can send me one of those phones, I'll get that tested for you Riku 😂 I don't think it'll get in the frame honestly, it's really far away from the camera.

No problem, I'm honest and open on my channel. I was sent this to test and review, I wasn't paid. I also didn't even have to make a film, say anything positive, so it's all my honest and personal opinion. If I don't like something I get I just don't review it as I see that as a waste of time. With Rode though, you can't go wrong. I think I've spend over $1k on Rode in my life, so I'm happy to review their products as I believe in them.

Rode is great, but sure, it costs money, it’s quality. I also have Neewer and Andycine mics, and they’re pretty good, not as good, but they do for now. I started off with no name mic, so I know.

Any users of the rode Vlogger Kit ios edition here - I just got it; It plugs in, I got the firmware updated from the Recorder app; I can see it registrating sounds however; when I press play I can't hear anything. Any thoughts on how I can fix this? iOs related or Rode mic related?
I'm a little disappointed actually. Nothing compared to the Sony FDR X3000 with the Rode Video Micro mic. The lack of optical stabilization is so bad! The microphone isn't bad though!
This is an old iPhone 8+, it should be in a museum, but I really can't justify buying a new one right now so it has to do. The Rode vlogger microphone though, that thing is awesome, love it!

One thing I like about this setup is, of course, the dead cat/mouse for your mic. I would, however switch out for a lumecube panel mini if possible.

missing the cable from the mic to phone
This is the IOS version so it connects via the lightning adapter, there is a universal version though that has a cable, old school style.

It's a great phone, sure. However my home button sometimes looses it's haptic ability and drives me crazy.
