It's like they put the engine in a sound proof enclosure. Even at speed the whole car is so quiet, amazing.

Best car in the segment. Best car in the world. The E350d is all the car you'll ever need. It's quiet, comfortable, luxurious, good looking inside and out, quick and fuel efficient.

LtheYAK Haha. Lol please. A 335d? Firstly it's a 3 series so no. This is an E Class which competes with a 5 series. Secondly, the BMW isn't as luxurious, nor as refined or as comfortable or well made or luxurious. The BMW may as well be a Toyota Corolla compared to this. No comparison.
SDav21 That's why the BMW diesel engine wins awards year after year?
Only person who would buy this over the BMW is someone who doesn't like driving.
My e92 is quicker than this e350 and it's 10 years old. Probably just as frugal too.
LtheYAK This is still Mercedes old diesel engine FYI. They are bringing their new 2.9 litre in line 6 cylinder diesel at the end of the year. Also, many reviews of the 520d versus E220d said that Mercs new 2 litre diesel is far better than BMWs. It is quieter, more refined and faster. Just see Carwow where the E Class was faster. Even though the 350d engine is old, it is still quiet, smooth, quick and economical. Faster doesn't always mean better anyway. But Mercs new 2 litre diesel isn't just faster, but more importantly, more refined and more economical. This E CLASS is plenty fast enough. I don't know why you keep comparing a 3 series, a 3 damn series!, to an E Class. No. The E Class is meant for luxury. 0 to 100 of 5.3 seconds is plenty quick enough here. You don't need more. I drove in a manual 320d of a friend. Oh yuck. It was so rough and noisy. The gear lever was even shaking at idle. This in a 2016 3 series. Lol. No thanks. A C Class is much more refined.

It's like the engine wasn't even on...couldn't hear anything. Luxury coupe - mission accomplished Mercedes Benz.
Simply amazing how silent and low revving the engine is at high speed. Beautiful design inside out and this engine really makes it the perfect package. Can't wait for the new inline 6 diesel!

Can I ask what app / software you are using for the speedometer overlay? I use RaceRender but this looks much nicer..
I had a tune on my 350d. 258 to 300hp and 620Nm to 720Nm wrote the speedlimiter out.
It goes way beond 260 now
I like the stability, I like the speed.. great machine
So many great cars tested but in my opinion it's also interesting how loud each car is at a certain speed. Would be nice to see that tested too

Not sure where you're looking?? The gear is displayed in the speedometer section and the revs can be seen in the main video frame.
This is the real E350! not the Hybrid
Ziemlich voll für einen E350d 😏 Widescreen Cockpit, Comand Online, Head Up Display, kleine Burmester Soundanlage, Sitze mit Memory, Amg Line , 20 Zoll Felgen usw. Schade, dass es keine Videos vom E400d bzw E350d mit R6 Zylinder gibt😔

Not the GoPro, the GoPro is only filming the cars speedometer which are always calibrated higher than actual speed. The Speedometer on the left is using GPS which is more accurate.

Before this one I watched E220d video and I don't see much of a difference between the two so why would anyone buy more expensive, less fuel efficient and more costly to service one? BTW it's crazy that 2.0 diesels go 240

To be honest I'm very suprised by Merc as I own Audi A8 D4 2015 before and i'm not gone lie to you guys that car I got now which is E350d 2018 estate with air suspension is doing the job and Audi I think is one level down with interior design and that silence despite Audi have double windows.I stay with Merc sorry Audi.

Well I own the model with exactly the same engine. Believe me, it has lovely sound when accelerating. It's not very noisy, but that makes the car perfect for long distance trips.
