I hope they make a Ghosts 'n Goblins Collection for modern consoles, kinda like what they did with Mega Man Legacy Collections (Classic, X, Zero/ZX). And of course, I want them to include Gargoyle's Quest trilogy as well. I'm really hoping for more retro game collections from Capcom! So far, we only have Mega Man Legacy Collections, Capcom Beat 'Em Up Bundle, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection and Disney Afternoon Collection.

I personally prefer super gng to this one, but as my upstairs neighbor mentioned splatterhouse is really awesome as well, in the end all three are classics in the 2d horror themed action/platformers genre.

Definitely a must for any SNES fan , I played this for about an hour last saturday , with headphones and the experience was superb , the OST and sound FX were top notch at that time .
Very underrated game. Late release, great graphics, great music. Great replay value, being that you have a 3d world map that let's you choose your battles, and you can beat the game without finding all the crests, powerups, and without killing all the bosses.
Something of a perfect balance of the old 16 bit backgrounds that lend a great breath taking view with just enough left for the power of your imagination to bring the rest of it depth. Such a pleasant effect.
I remember renting this game back in the 90's and the one thing that stood the most for me in this game, was the creepy and eerie soundtrack... This game was amazing!

The sound the statue boss makes as he reforms reminds me of my whole family cracking up Xmas morning cause my brother called it the fart bird. Good times

Capcom never shined so brightly as in the 8 and 16-bit console era. Their arcade business was equally healthy back then with great games like Magic Sword, the two Dungeons & Dragons games, Knights of the Round, etc. I wanna say the height of their arcade run was the highly successful "Marvel/X-Men Vs." games.... goodness knows I pumped a ton of quarters in those machines.
Konami was on par with Capcom during that era too. Shame how both these companies have fallen and Konami is hanging on by the single thread that is Metal Gear Solid and Street Fighter for Capcom

This was an amazingly well done Longplay. My only real gripes are that a lot of the levels were flown over instead of shown, and that none of the NPCs were interacted with. Otherwise it was a blast watching and remembering all the cool levels and bosses. One of my favourite games to this day.
Back in my day, Nintendo had a 900 tip line. It was around five dollars per minute. I asked how to beat the Dark Demon, and he told me he never beat the demon himself. This guy beats it flawlessly.
If you were in the USA, you could call the Nintendo Games Counsellors on a free number. They had maps and layouts to each game, but were told not to tell callers exactly how to beat the bosses...except for Ganon :P
Hmm, I think the second ending's translation is a bit botched. I believe what happened is that Firebrand slain the dark demon, then set out for the human realm in hope of finding a powerful warrior (which may be King Arthur if Firebrand is a certain red demon in the Ghosts N' Goblins series).
Shame that this game didn't more attention that it did. Everyone was raving about 3D graphics back in 1994-96. So, this game flew under the radar. Great lost gem of SNES.

Just discovered I totally missed the cutscene at the beginning explaining the entire story. Never understood the old trend of having to wait through the main screen to see what is essentially the opening cutscene of the game.
I grew up playing the SNES version of Aladdin, now I recently got a switch and downloaded the SNES and went into this game as soon as I saw the name and the box art, really caught my attention, I had never heard of it. I can really tell it was made by the same people who made Aladdin, the music, art, and character movements are very similar

I'm guessing that when Lucifer fell from Heaven, these stones fell with him into the demon realm. Lucifer went to the human realm and Arthur defeated him with the Psycho Canon given to him by Saint Michael while Firebrand obtained the 6 crests? When i was a kid i sucked at games but played all of then nonetheless. And as i saw the new Ghosts n' Goblins Ressurection i remembered the Red Demon (there is a demon that is very similar) and though "i never beaten Demon's Crest!" and wow, what a creative platformer!! Even in the first level, everything is boiling with style and creative decisions... Like... 3d platforms in that column?! And later, using the fire gargoyle to lit the torchs, the air to fly higher and the ground to slam rock statues?! It even have extra bosses, ffs! Damn, this too cool! A underrated masterpiece indeed

I was born in 90 so i was pretty damn young when i played this and never got far. The sights and sounds are bringing back hardcore feelings.

I love this game and have all the Capcom game's from nes to SNES , I love retro Nintendo and these games bring me back to the good ol days!

I remember this game being so damn difficult when I was like 4/5. Such a nostalgia trip to see it again.
I was a Mega Drive/Genesis guy in the 90s, but this one was the game that give best respect for SNES (more than Super Metroid, Chrone Trigger, FF VI, etc)
I was 12 years old in 1994 and I really enjoyed this legendary game.

never beat this game on my Snes as a kid. then i got an emulator for pc, and csnt believe i beat that Dark demon using a keyboard

I love how after you kill Ovnunu the eye just slowly makes it's way back to the center of the screen, looks at the camera, then remembers "oh yeah, i'm supposed to be dying right about now," and explodes.

Jason Lee It's one thing to not like the genre, which is completely fair. But you were saying it looked like a poorly made game with bad graphics, which is in no way true.

Back when you didn't have idiots calling every other game a "Metroidvania". One of my favorite SNES games.

I'm guessing that when Lucifer fell from Heaven, these stones fell with him into the demon realm. Lucifer went to the human realm and Arthur defeated him with the Psycho Canon given to him by Saint Michael while Firebrand obtained the 6 crests? Someone realllly needs to make a timeline video for this game series, holy shit man.

When i was a kid i sucked at games but played all of then nonetheless. And as i saw the new Ghosts n' Goblins Ressurection i remembered the Red Demon (there is a demon that is very similar) and though "i never beaten Demon's Crest!" and wow, what a creative platformer!! Even in the first level, everything is boiling with style and creative decisions... Like... 3d platforms in that column?! And later, using the fire gargoyle to lit the torchs, the air to fly higher and the ground to slam rock statues?! It even have extra bosses, ffs! Damn, this too cool! A underrated masterpiece indeed
