Very glad to see you playing some Niv to Light! I’ve been a big fan of this deck basically since the start of Pinoeer and B2L is finally on Arena after all this time!
In regards to the content question. I have always felt like Jim is an entertainer, and while he has spike qualities, he loves making content that is fun at its core.
Random ideas for Constructed Bronze to Mythic: 1. Whenever you lose, rebuild the opponent's deck as best you can, then play that deck until your next loss, repeat 2. Start with one of the Arena Starter Deck, each time you lose, you get to switch out ~5 cards 3. For each month, your fans propose themes that all decks must follow (e.g. mono-color, singleton, etc.). When you lose, either switch to a new deck or replace a single card in your deck (you can't play the exact list twice a month)
I've played Niv to Light and it feels like the current builds are just not good. 27 non-hits (not counting lands) and 20 hits for Niv leaves me, maybe, hitting two per 5-mana cast and it's rarely the two I actually need
Yeah, numbers are underwhelming. I see people trying maximize Niv's hits but I feel the opposite way in this crazy metagame: run only x1 of each Niv and x1 Omnath and play a 5C Good Stuff with Fatal Pushes in main.
To add on to this: we can conservatively assume that by turn 5 you will have 3 of your 27 hits in hand and 68 cards remaining in deck. 4 hits is ~50%. 3 hits is 75% and 2 hits is 93%. This deck REQUIRES a minimum of 40 hits to have a 90% chance to hit 4 cards. Obviously all of this is ignoring the complexity of same two color cards but that just brings the probabilities down.
@@rdm5687 At that point Niv is just a difficult to play Serra Angel in an otherwise generic beans Domain deck. I guess that works but it's uninspiring to play. I don't play Domain because it's boring whereas the old Niv to Light was actually an engaging control deck to play
Those Everywhere Tokens in game 2 look like the tokens on arena from like 5 years ago wtf. Also in Game 2 Untapped tracks your oppos deck as well when you've seen it all
so much niv you can’t possibly mizzet

I'm a simple man.
I see Explorer, I press like.
I just fell in love with this deck then looked at how many wild cards it takes. Back to mono-red
Love seeing the explorer/ pioneer content. Keeping track of what deck is trying to take down phoenix next 😂
Wow, that Niv hit at 15:00... I guess you cleared a lot of land.
Surprised this deck doesn't have any 2 colour wraths, like supreme verdict or that that UR one from MKM
the first opponent, TheJapanHobbyist, i believe makes a Pioneer podcast called The First Pioneers, so dont be too sad about that loss lol

Am I missing the decklist somewhere?
That game one Niv Mozzetta had to have been discussed with Nicole later.
30:29 If you take clarion instead of lightning helix, you gain 9 life, increasing the chance to survive the turn, right?
A humble offering for the almighty algorithm.
Somehow people stop putting the deck list in the description 😢
Love Jim

Someone doing so much BS and then salting out in response to their High Noon being destroyed is like some sort of Platonic ideal of an Arena opponent.
But is it too much Jim Davis? Never.
That's what Pioneer is, Standard with better mana

Do the Hands of the Week get posted somewhere? I always see Jim taking the screenshots but I never see where they end up. 😄
Twitter. Maybe bsky by now.
nivtolight is awesome.
Niv Is cool
I wish they'd do animations again, the game is poorer without them.
Animations were primarily on "I Win" mythics and only felt good to sit through when you were the one winning.
@@krimhorn lol no
Jim
Never
Even if her archetype isn't top tier o whatever, I find Light-Paws one of the dumbest and most broken cards in the format.
39:49 Maelstrom would have been nuts 😂
Not sure why Light-Paws is so underrated when the deck got second place at pro tour last year.
