"If its a youth game, why we giving them adult content?" This was one of your best interviews flip. You can tell Saigon had genuine interest in telling his truths on your platform. Salute!
What Fangz is saying is all facts because I was there in Coxsackie (The Cat) at the time Simeon and Red Cafe were there. At that particular time niggas was getting cut or stabbed every day, the prison alarms were always going on off, c.o's was shooting from the gun tower regularly. Throughout the prison system at that time if you was a nobody you couldn't wear no chain. Simeon and Red Cafe are both from Guyana and Simeon knew him from their Flatbush neighborhood. Simeon was a nigga that took reppin Flatbush serious. Simeon got deported and its known by a lot of people that Red Cafe didnt assist him by helping him get established when he couldve because he was financially in a position to do it. What Fangz forgot to mention is that Ace with the dreads from Flatbush who was Simeon right hand man also looked out for Red Cafe after Simeon left and he didnt check for him either. Fangz a real one for sure. I haven’t seen none of these brothers in years but facts are facts @queenzflip
Saigon was the 1st NYC rapper to shyt on the Bloods and Crip epidemic in NYC. Openly spoke out against it in 4Korners magazine, Street Soilders on Hot 97(Where he was spitting truth that made Jim Jones leave) and the song Color Purple. None of the top NYC rappers (Nas, Jay Wu Tang) spoke on the epidemic aside from a name drop on songs. Sai's man, Tru Life came right after with New New York and his numerous rants against Dipset being a bad influence by making gangbanging seem cool to impressionable kids. Its good to see Saigon still keeping that same energy. Saigon had Flip and G defending the shyt but they are younger and Sai is from my era when real heads in early 90's NYC were saying that B&C's shyt could never survive if it came to NYC(which in the end turned out to be wrong)
💯💯💯 you remember that?! I been looking for that interview for the longest. And yea Jim Jones was getting tight, when Saigon was throwing truth bombs. Super duper facts!
💯 % facts All the biggest artist either embraced the gang culture or stayed quiet. The Blood wave hit NYC in like 95 25 yrs later and it’s still a bad look. For someone who was around before 95 seeing a nigga in a yankee hat timbs throwing gang signs is like looking at someone wearing shoes that don’t fit. And the niggas in Cali don’t respect it
Mike Mo They might be But at least they are being themselves I look at the young artists in NY and now they doing drill music like Chicago and claiming Chicago gangs too! Lol Pac put the hex on us and our babies! 😂 Every since we robbed and shot that nigga the streets went haywire lmao
@PompadourJohnson23 not true there are a lot of African Americans in New York of American descent only few parts are Caribbean, ex east Flatbush,,crown heights, Jamaica queens, etc.
This is was a good episode. This was a funny episode and I didn't know Saigon was this funny and hes very intelligent. He always had the serious face when he was rapping back in the day. The story about his father calling him Bwian had me in tears. GMoney gave him "He cool man" before the interview started. Classic episode.
This was worth waiting for. perfectly executed. I always respected Siagon, but i dont know any of his verses. Flip, G, Siagon and his Man ( forgot you name homie, my bad but respect) took me on a journey and blessed us with some true wisdom from the culture. Much Respect.
THAT PART: 29:26 TALKING ABOUT THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM AND THEIR ABILITY TO TRACK POTENTIAL AND FUTURE PRISONERS FROM CHILDHOOD VIA THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION BASED ON INCIDENTS AND "RECORD" OF LEGAL INFRACTIONS
Gotta admit, I noticed the interview was 3 hours long and figured I'd watch 20 minutes or so but I watched the entire thing. This was a dope ass interview. Had to laugh when he talked about him and sister being polar opposites because that was me and my only brother. This nigga got put out of the ENTIRE public school system in my city and I graduated valedictorian of my class! My mother was constantly having to explain to teachers that we had the same dad, lived under the same roof and ate the same damn food every day lol. Salute to Saigon for wanting better for his kids and black kids in general. If we're not doing right by our own kids, what in the world makes you think white people are ever going to do right by them???? We are so much more than athletes and entertainers of the white masses. These kids need to know that education is invaluable. Our kids' odds of being a doctor/lawyer/stock broker etc. are EXTREMELY higher than being a Lebron or a Jay Z. Black folk gotta stop looking at entertainment/athletics as their only way out. I've worked in Corporate America for quite some time and nothing is more intimidating to white people than educated black people, ESPECIALLY educated black men. Flip, a good interviewer is indifferent to the responses he gets to his questions. Too many times you come across as being bothered when you get an answer not to your liking. All you need to do is ask the questions. You let your audience make their own determination as to whether someone is being genuine or not. It's ok to talk less and listen more. That's actually a sign of higher emotional intelligence. Please VOTE and GO BUCKEYES!! :)
that Department of justice and the department of education connectivity is crazy yo. they are connected because they have similar standards which is nasty.
