    I would love to see Boeser play his entire career with the Canucks. 8.6/year seems to be a lot, but I guess the consideration is: does the team see Boeser as a perennial 40-goal scorer, something that neither Miller or Petey has done. If Boeser can regularly produce 40 goals, then I would say he deserves to be paid that kind of money. Between him and Miller there is incredible chemistry, and for each goal one of these guys score, the other almost always would play a role, even if an assist is not granted. And Boeser and Miller actually back-check and do a fine job - look at what they have done to McDavid for most of the series - he is evolving into a 200-ft player, and that doesn't show up on the scoresheet.

    My biggest worry is him staying healthy. It's always somthing with brock but if he can re create last year again. Then 8mil 8.25 is fair. I personally think he needs to be involved in the play more since his assist count is low but hey whatthehelldoiknow

    I like brock as a person, and was impressed in the playoffs. However for my liking, he’s too slow, and requires his teammates to do the majority of the work to set him up for an open net shot.
    It’s a tough call for me

    • @sacredalien8011
      @sacredalien8011 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I had the same opinion about his play, I’ve always liked him as a person as well. I do think he stepped his game up a lot in the playoffs. He was the guy going to the dirty areas in the playoffs, taking a hit so he can make a play etc. I was really proud and happy to see him take off in the playoffs. Boeser isn’t going to be a top goal scorer in the league, that’s not what we expect from him. If he is then great. But either way we need scoring, I’ve never been okay with trading Boeser. Especially for those 1 for 1 trade rumors years ago for Boeser for Zucker 🤮🤮

    I felt that Boeser's last contract was too much, 8.6 is about a million too high for a seven year contract. Suter at 3.29 is way too much, should be more like 2 mil. Hoglander is about right for 2 years same as Juulsen

    • @icemand27
      @icemand27 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That's your best argument 40 goals. He had a great bounce back year and is a great net front presence. Look what giving more value to players do like EP40 worst contract ever. I like boeser but not the extra money they gave him for a season. Defensively along the boards he is weak, and a liability if It's not Miller winning battles for him in the D zone. Despite a great year if you watched the games and amount of grade A chances he misses or just floats a shot straight at the goalie 40 goals is huge but could have notched 55 plus. Too much spending money on soft players is a mistake

  • @christhornycroft3686
    @christhornycroft3686 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

    If I'm giving Brock an 8.6 million contract long term, I'm at least waiting 2 months into the season to see how he performs. If the 40 goals is a one-off, he's not getting that contract. He was an 8.6 player last season for sure, but to commit that much money to a player, I need to see more.

  • @hookstreet.
    @hookstreet. 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

    If the Canucks are going to spend that kind of money, why not sign Draisaitl instead? He's in his last year of his contract as well and the Oilers have no chance having both McDavid and Draisaitl. However, if Brock has a monster year, they would be hard pressed to not sign him to that contract. I have a feeling he will and management will have a tough decision to make. It's really on Boeser to dictate that outcome.

    Should get somewhere around 7.6x8 imo. 8.6 seems a bit high for a guy that could get anywhere from 20-40 goals and 50-70 points each season. If he was a consistent 40+ goal and 70+ point guy then 8.6 is fine but I don’t see him doing that every season

    He relies on his centers to forecheck and set him up.. Compared to players like Garland/Joshua who hound the puck and make things happen themselves.
