For years, the internet has been desperate for high quality guides on basic park moves. No kidding, it's the best content on the topic i've ever seen out there, thank you for great service Snowboard Addiction sir 🤙
That's what we're here for, thanks for watching!
I have your training board and transferring the movements to snow is critical. This video fills the exact gap I need. Great video! Appreciate it man!
Awesome! Let's get those boardslides dialled in!
Timing couldn’t be better I’ve been trying to get these in for the past few days, thanks taevis!
Hopefully, you nail them this season!
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Your fits are always 🔥 🔥
❤️
That's really informative. Great filming too.
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is a great breakdown. I can’t wait to go try
Get after it!!!
also when learning i would want to look at my foot hit the rail which would cause a slide out. it was much better for me to stay focused on the end of the rail with my eyes to keep my weight going forward. so i'd just need to let my foot feel the rail.
first! love the vids
What trick should we tackle next?
Tailslide into 270 out (on a box)? I just can't get it right, usually sliding off to my left (regular stance).
Would love to see blunted slides, front and back blunts pls
backside boardslide --> sameway 270 out
@@Belzehi suck at that one as well, boxes are hard hahaha
This is because they don’t have anything to help you stop your sideways momentum on.
That’s why it’s really hard to generate rotation. Since you need to take off very straight and proper well generating your power.
Nev loves this trick, and we will make a video on it at some point this winter!
@@Jay-bi4brthat’s a good one! Will do, I’ve been working on my Blunts as well🙌🏻
i have the issue where i slide with my heel edge once i hit the feature, how can i fix that? really appreciate your vids!
Sounds like your jumping backwards putting your weight over your heels. You also might be too tall.
We can give you more feedback and video analysis on ADDICTION+
Make sure you’re counter rotating. When your board is sideways on the box, your knees should be bent with your lead shoulder pointing towards the end of the feature. While learning it helps to exaggerate this position by pretending you’re reaching for the floor with your front hand. This fixed it for me! Hopefully helps.
Thank you both! Will try this weekend ❤️
Taevis is the first person I've ever seen plainly state NOT TO POP and it's so helpful. By far the most articulate tutorials I've ever watched, and it feels like I'm actually being told knowledge from the person themselves instead of just getting some tips repeated without any thought.
So if I understood correctly, we use the same poping technique for boardslide in your video for kicker called "Greatly Improve Your POP | Learn To Jump with Taevis - EP 2" ? The mix between ollie and 2 footed jump = micro ollie = pop ? And we have to use this everywhere (kicker, rails, side hits) ?
Yep!
any advice on what to do when I keep catching my front edge? Rails not so much but tubes I catch and eat it haha. Just detuned inside the boots slightly tho will test this next weekend.
Probably jamming your toe edge in. Could be popping too much or leaving g too much.
@@SnowboardAddiction gotta work on meeting the features where its at understood coach thank you
Great video! What brand is that jacket/pant combo?
It’s from tolasmik you can find their gear on snowears.com use code Taevis15 for a discount:)
Taevis do you recommend detuning a board i intend to practice rails with? Also the sound in these videos is really impressive
I never de tune my snowboards. You can if you want to get wild with switch ups but I haven’t caught an edge because of a sharp edge in years.
So I know a lot of people do it, but I don’t think you need to.
Maybe if you just ride rails it wouldn’t hurt:)
@@SnowboardAddiction Appreciate the answer buddy!
Do you file your edges down for rails?
Nope, I just take a couple laps carving before shredding rails in a new board
@@SnowboardAddiction Thanks for the reply! Any reason with? I hear conflicting info on this.
Is there a difference in takeoff between a backboard and tailslide 270 off?
also is the takeoff of a backside 50-50 same as backboard?
Backside 5050 is basically the same. Backboard tail slides want the same principles, but it’s harder since you need to get all the way to your tail.
Isnt backside when your sliding backwards??
For rails the trick names refer to the way you hit them not the way you slide.
So backside 5050 = backside boardslide
If you take off and the rail is behind you it's backside. If the rail is in front of you when you take off it is frontside.
