Škoda Scala Style 2019 - first look inside | Geneva Auto Show 2019

- Škoda Scala 2019 was first shown in Vienna but locked on a fenced stand. In Geneva it was finally official revealed, so we finally got to sit inside one in Europe.
Both models in video are Style (top package) full loaded with exception of panoramic roof. First car is in Race blue metallic color, second is in Quartz gray metallic, both have, optional LED front and rear lights, 18 inch alloy wheels. 16 inch are standard while 17 and 18 inch are optional.
Both have top ranging petrol and diesel engines; 1.5 TSI -150 HP and 1.6 TDI - 115 HP, both cars had optional 7 speed DSG. 6 speed manual is standard. With exception to petrol with 90 HP that comes with 5 speed manual.
Scala offers plenty of space on front and rear seats, trunk space is 467 l - max 1410 l of space while rear seats are down.
Inside, both cars had vegan leather (optional), red or white ambient lights, new optional 10 inch digital cockpit and optional center 9 inch touch screen MIB 3 infotainment system with Apple car play and Android auto as standard (in Style package). Lowe packages get center 6 or 8 inch screen.
Scala is equipped with many safety features like; lane assist, Adaptiv radar, blind spot warning in mirrors, and side assist, and you still have parking sensors with back-up camera as option.

This is real step forward for Skoda. The brand was not hurt in any way after diselgate and VW recognized that, and allow Skoda to produce cars like this Scala, witch is a similar size like Golf.
I just cant shake the feeling, that darker interior would look more posh, than this grey one witch Im really not a fan of.

Although I am from the Czech Republic, I owned the last Škoda ten years ago. But now it looks like I'm coming back to the home brand, Scala looks beautiful. Nice video Josip!

Which colour is the blue on at the beginning? Is it "Energy-Blue" or "Racing-Blue"?

@@JRCarReviews thank you very much. I asked because energy-blue is the only free colour in germany. All the other colours cost something (racing blue for example +550 Euro) But I heard that energy-blue and racing blue looks so similar so I wonder if the additional charge of +550 Euro for racing blue is worth? Do you know any video on youtube where the scala is in energy-blue?

if you want Scala RS just do the same thing what Škoda do all the time. Place RS badge on the ordinary car and that's it :-)

fm carv good Q, I think car manufacturers gave listing to some press people to grade build quality. But I am not certain 100%.

Because its the MQB-A0 and this platform doesn’t have electric brake. Yes ......... (Btw others - New VW Polo, IBIZA,ARONA, T-ROC,T-CROSS,ŠKODA KAMIQ) Included Scala. Have a nice Day\:
Why disappointment? Did You ever tried to have fun on snow with electric brake? I'm grateful for every car where the manual handbrake still is.

Nice car, but name. There was another car called Scala, Yugo Scala or Zastava Scala from Serbia aka Yugoslavia (bad car but still a car). Is it ok for Skoda to call their car Scala, I mean because legal consequences?
You mean the Zastava Skala, not Scala. Other companies went by that name too. I'm pretty sure VAG has it covered legally. I've actually owned a Zastava 55 and it was pretty bad. but so were the FIAT cars they licensed it from.

Also a MK2 VW Scirocco Scala injection (a Golf MK1 GTI with the 1.8injection DX series K-jetronic 112bhp engines) which replaced the GTX injection Scirocco in later production. I had a much loved 1991 Scirocco Scala injection for many years.

@@JRCarReviews Well... yes it is. It's smaller than Octavia, about as small as Rapid. What's the point of that model? I'd argue, what's the poind of Rapid. Fabia - Octavia was a great scale, imho.

Looks nice, but I got burned owing a Skoda Octavia 12 years ago. Back then it was not the best quality.So many things that simply broke. It also started to rust after 7 years around doors.So there will be no more Skoda for me.No matter how nice and roomy they are.Quality wise the most disappointing car I owned because it did a solid first impression.
11an back then many cars rusted as they didn’t have anti corrosion protection... if you liked Škoda maybe you should give it another chance.
W210 had rust all over the place :)

@@JRCarReviews dosla je u HR konfigurator, cijene mi se cine ok s obzirom na ponudjeno i ono sto konkurencija nudi. Jedino je pitanje koliko ce publike imati kod nas s obzirom da Octavia nije puno skuplja

Just look what Peugeot does with their cars, it's like they are from another planet, 208,508 and 3008 are space ships compare to ugly mercedes let alone some boring skoda.
I like their design, but 508 lax space. Škoda has good design sharp, interior is simple layout everything were you expect it...
Yeah, that's the problem, they're space ships with a bit strange interior. I like a little more classic control panel look. And then I think Škoda cars are more reliable ;)
