2004 was the first year I visited Cedar Point and have visited probably hundreds of times since.
Don't know if it's just me growing up but the park felt so much more 'precious' in the 2000s and early 2010s. It still holds a special place in my heart but recently Cedar Point's never been able to replicate the 'magic' of those earlier days. The nostalgia these videos bring is intoxicating!
Thank you for watching, pleased you enjoyed a trip down memory lane :) We've not visited Cedar Point since 2007, so the magical memories are still realities for us. This is how we still remember the park.
its the lack of wicked twister, demon drop, the original dragster, and mean streak, and the rides aging over the years. Defenitely. also the aditions of all the new coasters and the train swapping of mantis dosent help.
It’s definitely that you’re growing up .. I feel this way about Six Flags .. it just doesn’t have the same feel from when I was a kid
I really wish they would've kept the intro to Top Thrill Dragster! It makes it even more theatric and anxiety filled.

Great video. It reminds me of the week my father and I spent at Cedar Point, which was the first week of August 2004. That was the only time(s) I have been there. Such great energy the park had in that era. It was Dragster’s second year, and Iron Dragon had fresh paint scheme.
Thank you. Yes, that's correct. Remember both very well 🙂 Apart from the cable snap, Dragster had a much better 2004 season in relation to downtime. It was running much better.

2004 is probably peak CP. will never get any better than that time. Everyone in line talked to each other, no one just on phones. MF had a DJ in the queue line! Coming up to the park to see Demon Drop, Millenium, Dragster, Raptor, Power Tower and Magnum dominating the skyline. Wild Cat and Iron Dragon you could marathon during the firework spectacular at the end of the night. One of the last years for the coaster wars. I was a young lad in the early nineties and I remember seeing commercials for Raptor, Mantis, Millenium all go up competing against Six Flags Magic Mountain. Ahh the memories. CP will never be as good again
I would like to argue that the peak for Cedar Point was when Maverick debuted at the end of the 2000’s I can bet you that people were not on their phones then neither
Good footage of Iron Dragon with the old paint, 2003 was actually the last year for it

@@XtremeCoasters I think they repainted it because Wildcat got a repaint around the same time, I don't remember either because I was born in 2006, but I did ride Disaster Transport before it closed

The first year I went was in 2004, I was 11 and that was Top Thrill Dragster’s second season; it looked absolutely fucking terrifying at 11 years old haha. Shit I didn’t ride it for the first time until 2010. 😂

2003 wasn't the best season for TTD in all honestly. If suffered some extensive downtime.
Only its first few seasons was the worst for it
@@adamdragster i second that i was there in 2010 down the entire three days i was there in 2010 2015 i didnt get to ride until 2016 and july 2021 own way too often
Sadly the same with Volcano at Kings Dominion
Same With Kingda Ka in 05-06 .. these coasters featured new technology and mechanics at that time
