Hi Mate, love the video. HELP re my car is needed. I'm in Perth Australia. I've got a 07 RR Sport. WITH and intermittent fault re the center console stuff and other items. Its doing my head in.............. So, I start the car, the radio works, Sat Nav and AC all work. Indicators all work. Then 3-4 or 10 minutes later, a fault comes up on the dash and the lot shuts down, NO Aircon, No Radio, No SatNav, Indicators stop working and Hazard light start flashing plus the central locking on the doors start opening and closing! Car drives normal. 3-5-10 minutes later it all switch's back on and works again as normal. THEN 5 mins later OFF again. No idea what it is................ HELP pls Thx Mark
Hi Mark, There is a known problem with the instument cluster (dash) on D3 and RRS, as this is part of the CANBus it throws a load of errors up. Have a google as they may be your issue ? cheers Mark
No it was purely no aound from the head unit. do have a fault with the headunit/sat nav powering off now with message "system fault shutting down" but this is a new fault and unrelated, and I think this is the head unit as they are known for bad solder joints !!
I can confirm the fault I listed above "vehicle fault, system shutting down is related to the head unit. Watch my new video: th-cam.com/video/HNE9w8YMYJY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=OX2fEhnifUehLLLb
It depends what system you have, I don't have the Logic 7, the part number you specified looks like its for the logic 7 system, which has more speakers and maybe different connectors !!
@@trollmanrs Hi thank you for reply, so was it the amp inside the amplifier or you have changed the harman kardon amplifier itself ? Thank you for help!
Mine started after a low battery 🪫 condition I.E. 12.4v and below (camping in the cold); the battery was 2 1/2 years old so replaced it confirming the alternator is ok and when car is stationary voltage is 12.7v. The 4x4 info on my 2009 TDV8 Sport just shows logo screen and radio is off.
Mine does this at random. Sometimes it’ll stay on for months at a time and others. It will turn off and then turn back on 10 minutes later. I’m thinking it has something to do with the fiber optic cable itself. like either it is loose or there is a break in it somewhere, when it goes back together, it works and when it pulls apart, it doesn’t? Or maybe something to do with the power supply going to it? I say that because, every time the volume knob starts working again, it resets the bass and treble settings in the menu. Its odd. I guess I should probably check the fuses. Also to make sure that there isn’t something going on there. Which could be the cause. I will let you know, but any help you think you can give this… Would be good help. Thank you. I’m going to look at it tonight. Where is the fiber optic cable located on the amp? Front of it, meaning in front of the front seat or behind it?
Hi, the problem with the head units seems to be bad soldering joints (dry joints), and hence they fail randomly like mine did (see my other video). My amp failed as I had no sound but it was like it when I bought the truck, I think it worked for about 10 mins. You can check the fibre with a loopout fibe cable, and also you should be able to see the red light from the cable when you turn it on (it may stop if there is a fault seconds later though). If you put the seat forward you can see the amp under the drivers seat (UK), and you can get to the connections from the rer seat area. GL
@@trollmanrs thank you. I will play with it and see what happens. This has been going on for years with me. It will work for six months at a time and be fine. Then, volume control won’t work, then it will for a while and then not. but it seems every time it comes back on, the bass and treble settings reset. But the balance and fader settings remain the same. It’s a weird problem and again, it makes me think that it is some sort of power issue or an issue with the fiber so I will have to look at it today and see what I can find. It may just be a loose cable. Because sometimes it seems when I turn a sharp corner, sometimes it comes on. It could just be coincidence, but I’ve had a half of more than once. So who knows? It doesn’t make sense that it will work for an extended period of time and then not intermittently and then work again for another six months. by the way, how much was the amp when you bought one? Can you get any amp or do you need an OEM replacement? are there third-party replacements? Thank you in advance for the help.
@@MeltWithUI bought a replacement OEM amp from ebay for around £40. I take it you don't get any other problems like clock missing on the dash or the 4x4 screen not working? If it's just the sound not working I bet it's a faulty amp.
Those head units are the worst, I remember my 06 I bought from new started acting up the same year I bought it, I change out the head unit under warranty , boy that was a pain
The diagram of the Most system (12.40) is great. Couldn't find one anywhere. Thanks
Glad to of helped.
Good
Thanks
Thank you so much that was a perfect help.
Glad you found my video helpful

hello, I have the same problem, what exactly is the breakdown is it better to change the central unit or the amp? Thanks for your help
You can check if there is a red light from the amp on the MOST cable on power up, But i suspect it's the AMP if everything else works. Good luck
Thank you for your answer . Yes the light is red when I déconnect the orange cable I see it
Hi, did your sat nav screen go off as well as the radio sound please

Tem um fio laranjado q tem uma luz vermelha se não tiver ligado tbm da esse defeito do volume
The red light is for the fibre optic, you can buy a loop through cable to test the fibre optic system.
Check fuse 42 behind glove compartment.
Did that, was definately the Amp, as it's been working ever since now.
Will XQK500105 work for a replacement?
It depends what system you have, I don't have the Logic 7, the part number you specified looks like its for the logic 7 system, which has more speakers and maybe different connectors !!
I had the same problem.. I changed the amp and now the radio only stays for like 15sec and shouts off..
Did you check that the MOST fibre cables are all ok. You should see the fibre optic red light follow the chain.
Which amp was it ? Which number ? I have the same issue
My faulty amp was a XQK500093, but I replaced it with a XQK500095 as that is the newer updated version. Hope that helps.

@@alexanderdeans4842 I swapped out the Harmon Kardon amp which is under the right hand front seat. (drivers in UK). That solved my issue.

Hi,
Even from when you turn the stereo on? You need to look quickly. You can buy a fibre return cable to test the fibre circuit.
