    Use a plastic container to mix dye in. Foil (heat conductor) develops the color too quickly.

    Ella, I don’t know what it is about you, but I just love watching your videos. The other TH-camrs just bore me to death with their hair videos but you keep me watching. I watched other tutorials on this color but I keep coming back to yours. I’m going to try it your way. You look great on instagram also. You don’t look older than sixteen. Your work is impressive. I’m not saying every other TH-camrs hair videos are boring just most of the ones I’ve watched for this specific hair color. Just wanted to clear that up. I shouldn’t have generalized like that. All the best Ella and keep doing what you’re doing. 😊

    If the bleach dried in 24 hrs the process stopped, even with the plastic bag to contain heat. You need moisture, you could base the hair with conditioner and it would've processed longer. It is a beautiful color nonetheless, congrats!

    i had the same problem trying to use L’Oréal HiColor in magenta on UNice hair . so after you saturated the hair with developer & left the developer on for 24 hours it lifted to the color you wanted , correct ? asking because i want to try that on my hair .

      the only reason i went to it was because the hair quality didn't lift as i expected it to. your hair may come out lighter than mine starting with the developer.

    • @macho_duh_ishgoat3d366
      @macho_duh_ishgoat3d366 5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      If you have virgin hair then yes but honestly I would NEVER suggest leaving dye on your scalp for longer than 45 minutes (& this is coming from someone who's had black, bright red, dark brown, Auburn, blue, blonde, almost every color). I've been dying my hair since I was 12. Also NEVER put straight developer in your hair!!! EVERRRRR. Esp 40. I don't even know what it would do to your hair but it would fry it at the least. Developer is meant to be mixed with hair dye & the higher the developer #, the lighter and faster it'll change and lift your color (but also cause more damage) now since you have virgin hair you won't need a very high developer or have to leave it on very long since virgin hair lifts so easily and there's no old dark dye preventing the lifting (lightening) process. When I went from dyed jet black hair to bright red (like Rhianna red) it came out GORGEOUS & what I did was use this same exact brand (the loreal hicolor for dark hair) but in red obviously bc I wanted bright red hair. You would get the brown. Now, I would use a 30 developer you may even only need a 20 depending how light you want to go. also you can ask the women at Sally beauty supply, but you'll probably need a toner incase you get an orange hue to your hair (which may happen) she was smart to get the colors she did, like the cool ash brown I think it was called but only get like 1 box or if u have short hair only use about half the tube, it'll offset any orange or brassy tones you might get (besides the Auburn , although I loved the result since I'm looking to dye my dark dyed hair the same exact color, I don't really want any red or Auburn tones in it. I want plain light brown). What you do is put the dye in once it's all mixed and start from the bottoms and work your way up. (You don't want your roots extremely light and the rest a medium to light brown) this can happen even on virgin hair, roots turn color the quickest for some reason and the ends are the most stubborn. What I would do is once the dye is all over regardless what the directions say, leave it in about 25-30 mins with a bag or shower cap on your head with your hair clipped up in a bun (like once it's saturated, twist it around into a bun & use a plastic claw clip to hold it then put the bag or shower cap on, heat from your scalp will make the color lift faster) after about 25 mins start checking the color. If it's still too dark or isn't what you want, let it go more time. (keep in mind wet hair looks darker than what it's going to look like once you've washed it out and dried it). Also the brushes are pointless. Some ppl prefer them but for me they've always been a pain in the ass and take way longer .. I use my hands to part my hair first in 3 sections (bottom, middle, top in layers clipping the middle and top up then working my way up, way easier than trying to get dye all over your full head of hair this way) and dye it piece by piece. I'll take about the amount of hair you'd use if you were going to make a medium to thick size braid and dye that making sure u use your fingers to separate it, bc it can LOOK saturated with dye but once you start spreading it apart you'll notice dry pieces of hair in the middle). Then I just keep going until it's all done and clip it all up and wait. Honestly when I dyed my hair with this brand but red, the first time I got an ugly, 3 tone color of oranges, reds and browns. All I did was dye it again the same way (didn't use a higher developer bc I don't want my hair fryed which IS what will happen), I think I did it again the same day after drying it and waiting a few hours and then I repeated it the next day & it came out gorgeous. Even, no spots or weird "bands" of a diff color around my head, & all one gorgeous red color. And my hair felt so healthy and soft still (granted I did get about 6 inches cut off after dying it since I wanted shorter hair (my hair's always been down to my butt or lower back). I've always had thick long Italian hair. But yes please follow all this. Sorry for the long response but please please don't do what she did .... I almost thought to myself "omg I'm totally doing this that's the exact color I want" but idk how she didn't completely fry that hair leaving it in for, what did she say, 24 HOURS?!? That's NEVERRR normal when dying hair and your scalp would be ON FIRE after about an hour. Plus I think ur hair might fall out lmao. Maybe bc it's a wig idk but don't do this. Definitely dumping the bottle of FORTY developer on the hair and letting it sit another however many HOURS. I had a mini stroke when she did that 🤣. Honestly good for her bc the hair looks bomb asf but no. No no NOOOO please do not try this dying method on your real VIRGIN hair. You'll end up needing this wig when you're done 😂😂😬. Seriously though. Anyway I hope u didn't do it yet lol & if u did let me know how it went also let me know if you do dye it how it comes out! Hope this helps you😊

    You’re never supposed to use metal bowls for dye, also there was NO form of measuring at all. You just aimed for a consistency, it’s not bleach it’s a formula. It turned out nice in the end , but definitely would’ve worked better and gotten your money worth if the dues were use properly, you can’t just mix 10 boxes of dye together and add a whole bottle of developer if it’s not in the right ratio it won’t perform eibhr

    The reason it didn’t lift is because some of those dyes are high lift and the mixing ratio for high lift is 1 to 2 oz 40VOL ...so you’d have to use a 40 developer and double it up.....love ya xoxo
