    This tech is very cool indeed! Went to the link provided and one of the features listed was blind spot monitor indicators once blinkers turned on…might be nice of them to indicate regardless (like most cars these days)

    It said Cruise Control Unavailable because you inadvertently tries to turn it on when parked. That is, you were already in Drive when you depressed the stalk.

    Brian, there's NO WAY you've got 13% degradation. There's no way to get an accurate degradation figure without very specific figures, and you have to have started out going through a full one of those procedures when the car was brand new. There is NO WAY to calculate battery degradation without doing complete back-to-back 100%-0%-100% charge cycles and taking very detailed measurements. I wouldn't be concerned about the figure the Teslogic is giving you. It's meaningless.

    Tesla does show you Battery degradation.
    You have to enter Service mode, which isn't only for Tesla Employes btw as they have a different one called Service mode plus.
    There under HV you can actually perform a degradation Test.
    It takes a long time as it discharges and charges the car completely but after that you have an accurate degradation percentage.
    The number shown by the App is a calculated number based on incomplete Data.
    Each time you charge it takes the energy charged and the change in Voltage and estimates how much energy should be in the Vehicle at 100% but that value can be off quite a bit. If seen graphs with two sessions close to each other were 15% apart. Now it takes a lot of those sessions and averages them so it's not bad but still not 100% reliable.

    I don't think it is degradation. Tesla has limited the batteries kW to 68 kW. One thing not being said is why everyone is limited to this. I mean everyone. Those with high mileage or low mileage.
    I think all content creators are doing Tesla's talking saying degradation. What should be said or asked? Is why Tesla is limiting usable wattage to just 68 kW for LR batteries. Of the 68? You hit zero percent after using 65 kW.. with the remaining 3 as buffer.

  • @RidgesPhoto

    What is your range in miles at 90% from the car? We could use that to compare ours and see if our degradation is similar.

    • @rickeybarnes6471
      @rickeybarnes6471 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes what is your range at 90% itesla? My y performance with 32,300 miles in the last 5 months went from 274 miles down to 251 at 100%!. Tesla tells me my battery is fine. This is using the dumb battery indicator on the screen. At 90% it’s at 226 to 229 miles. Thanks

  • @KingSDott
    @KingSDott ปีที่แล้ว +3

    What a great video. My MYP performance has just over 12k miles and I’ve lost 10% due to degradation. I think that’s a lot and I’ve only supercharged a couple of times.

    • @ssing7113
      @ssing7113 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. It’s just the computer. U can actually talk to tesla and get actual number. It’s not that at all

    • @KingSDott
      @KingSDott ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ssing7113 I disagree. It’s possible it might be 8% or 9% instead of over 10%. Degradation is expected. Tesla gave themselves 30% to work with before it’s a warranty issue.

    • @awo1fman
      @awo1fman ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Definitely not that much degradation. I've had my Model S for 5 years and it's actually 6 years old, has over 80,000 km/50,000 miles, I've done a lot of Supercharging and have only 5% reduction in range. And even that is only the "GOM" range projection; in reality I'm getting better than that.
      There's a lot of stuff going on with the range estimate, including OS updates that refine the way range is calculated, your actual driving circumstances, and environmental conditions.
      There's no way you already have 10% degradation.

    • @awo1fman
      @awo1fman ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Also, there is NO WAY to calculate degradation on the fly, and without doing very specific charge-discharge-charge cycles and doing baseline measurements. That "degradation" figure the Teslogic device gives is utterly meaningless.

    I always want to know if you plug it in everyday doing small charge like 5% or 10%, does that count as 1 cycle?

    • @RDlinkenhoker
      @RDlinkenhoker ปีที่แล้ว +2

      20 charges of 5% and 10 charges of 10% equals one cycle.

  • @Scott-sm9nm
    @Scott-sm9nm ปีที่แล้ว

    Your cell imbalance is excellent. It is the difference in voltage from your highest and lowest cell. ie. 3.699v VS 3.701v is 2mv deviation or .002v difference. Apps like ScanMyTesla show all your cell groups and each of their voltages and temps ... then the diffs, avgs, etc. The cell imbalance will vary by your SOC%. At the higher end of your SOC the Tesla will do cell balancing.

  • @aussie2uGA
    @aussie2uGA ปีที่แล้ว

    It's too bad we still can't get full power out of the car when SOC starts to drop. I don't like charging high but you lose so much horsepower under 50%. Thats the one area they need to improve as a gallon of gas produces just as much horsepower as 20 gallons. I hear the Tesla Plaid has done better in this regard.

    Brian: I am a MY owner here in town with a flat tire. About $125 to have Tesla look at it. Drove it to Discount tire. They pulled the metal out and said the hole was to big to plug. Do I have to replace both back tires or all four? Now I can’t move the car to bring it home.

    • @rickeybarnes6471
      @rickeybarnes6471 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had a screw in my back tire in the middle tread on my y performance and tire rack where I purchased the tire said it could not be fixed because of the foam encased in the tire. I took it to Tesla service and they told me that they could fix it for 115 bucks total so I got it done. Hope this helps. Fixed in Early October.

    Brian, My Model Y is of a similar age as yours (June 2020). I find I loose battery capacity every time I take a long trip (500+ miles) with Supercharging. Driving around town, my range stays constant. After each big trip I loose about 10 to 12 miles of range and never get it back even if I allow it to top balance on a slow charger. I've had Tesla do a battery check several times and they say everything is just fine. I may reach more than 30% loss before I'm out of battery warranty.
