The donkey working the mine was priceless. Must layouts do the coaling tower and belt feed from below ground. Few show the donkey working a mine or a tailings pile or bother with the details. Good show, jolly good show
There are 5 of us who host On ever Tuesday , we do a round robin visit. We have 2 guys who have a HO layout, 2 guys in N scale, and 1 guy in O scale. We put the word out who is hosting and most time 6 other guys show up. Most of our layouts are 16X 30 with 30 " aisles so guys can operate with out congestions. We work on our layouts but not on train night, in our group we have a wiring guru , a loco maintenance guy, a guy that weathers, a scenic guy, and an organizer to keep us on track. So nights we just sit and BS.... Don I am one lucky guy!
Like Scott's car. My Dad had a 1974 Duster that was his little baby. He loved that car. Good to see the progress on the layout. Really miss the weekly updates. I am the only one who works on my layout. It is my baby. LOL
I enjoy helping build and refurbish HO scale layouts for both Orlando Society of Model Railroaders & Electric Railway Clubs of Florida. I receive a lot of support from my friends at both of those clubs. They can tell I'm always busy working on something. I also hope to produce cool videos like yours on my channel.
I thoroughly enjoy your updates. Love the fun, whimsical approach you have taken to the layout and at the same time capturing the essence of the joy of model railroading. Thanks for sharing the story! And my first car was a '68 Dodge Dart - Beige with 3-on-the-tree - so that brought back some memories! To your question, while we have regular op session with 4-6 others on my layout, the actual construction of it has been largely done by myself - I like the quiet time to putter on different projects. The only exception are those areas done by my wife (she does amazing scenery, backdrops and buildings!). Keep up the great work and keep the updates coming!
Magnificant catches of the model trains coming by and pass, I like it 5 stars, keep up the great work, my friend, i subscribed your channel, Greetings from Portugal to the USA.
Thats exactly the type of car I would have pictured Scott driving! Don't know why...just seems fitting. :) 1 inch is 25mm, so 2mm would be ~ 1/12th in. Been a while since we've seen all of you together on the layout. Good to see the gang playing with trains again. :)
, WOW!! the layout looks great and it put a smile on my face to see the O'Shea Junkyard and the coal cars. It is coming along nicely. The trains run smoothly and the scenes are good when the Amtrak was running the long shot you had with the mountains in the background, which made it look like it was traveling in the desert. Good stuff. Say hello to Dad and Scott. Oh yeah, great intro to Scott and his arrival.
I don’t know anyone else locally that likes model trains so my layout has all been solo. Ive become jack of all trades like most other solo guys. PS. The editing and photography is really well done in this video.
Love it! It's taken me a bit, but I've managed to accumulate a crew of three other guys. Rich is the track guy, Will's my co-video editor and Arduino programmer, Ron just helps with a bit of everything, and then I do a bunch of the wiring and locomotive/equipment work.
SCOTT I still own my 1974 Plymouth Gold Duster. Paid $600 for the car in October of 1984. V8 360, A-500, 3.91 Sure Grip etc. etc. I could tell what the car was from the 1st clip!!!! I also have a little N scale version of my Duster on the layout. And never forget to use the big black magic button the floor of the car to help wash the windows of the cars following you.
That’s sweet you have a mini duster on your layout. now I need to look for a Ho scale one. My duster is a 73 no v8 no sure grip just a highly modified 225
My grandpa and I had a small O scale layout when I was growing up and then we took it apart and started a 5x8 ho scale layout. I have one friend that has come over once to run his engines but usually it’s just me and my grandpa.
Hi, As your video opens I see that you have the same Paul Detlefren train print. I bought that for my father as a young man in the early 1970's. Now it's at out house. Only yours looks a lot brighter. How did you make yours so good looking ? Thanks.
I think I picked it up at a thrift store years ago. I noticed it later in a photograph of some grandparents of mine hanging on the wall behind them. I have not done anything to it.
Hi and hope you are all well. I mostly work on the layout by myself, but lately I have had the privilege of friend who comes every Monday to work on the layout. My friend, by the name of DES helps and it is good fun. He has an English OO gauge layout which hope to show on my channel soon. Take - Kevin.
What a wonderful layout guys. Looks like you all have a lot of fun too. Great to see the old engine shed and water tower in the narrow gauge transfer area. Lots of industry in action, enjoyed the video, all the best, Darren 👍
Nice you are back with videos more frequently. I remember years ago when you first started the layout. It looks really great you and your Dad and friends have got the old, tired layout looking like new. I work alone my hours are not the best for matching other people's schedules, so I plug along by myself. COVID has influenced many of us with friends and getting to work together on our layouts as well, hopefully we are now moving aways from all that. I'm Mike and my layout is the The Great Basin RY.
Thanks Mike. The one nine definitely made it difficult for all of us to hang around with each other. That was not very fun. Is nice to be together again.
Another fun video. I currently have a layout in progress, but the plan is to have multiple operators. I have three levels to keep everyone busy. Lol Merry Christmas!
And for a good part of the video, I was trying to figure out what the Bright Yellow logo on his shirt was for.... Well come to fine out it is just a cell phone in his pocket.
Duster and a moving picture! Not only that, good company.
Indeed.

Great to see this update. 😃
Thanks John.
Glad to see you back. Nice work. Have a great Christmas.
Thanks. You too.
Very good to see a full house at TNHR. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Norman.
Great to see you all
Thanks.
I love it when we all can get together

That is a great way to share the railroad. For a while I had a 69 Jeep Wagoner with 3 on the tree.
That was some cool special effects turning that picture into a video screen.
Wow amtrak didn't derail.
The magic of video editing. :)

@@ModelRailroading no problem, mate, hope you enjoy my channel.
@@ModelRailroading i have made a intro to my channel, hope you like it: th-cam.com/video/tVAngdMPxNY/w-d-xo.html
Always enjoy visiting your channel. Work mostly by myself. Have HO and On30.
I have thought a few times about trying out On30

Thanks for the conversion. It was nice to all be together.
My uncle and I work together on his layout, so yeah, I suppose we do have a little group
That counts. :)

This channel always manages to make me smile. Great production, too. 😉
Good to hear. Thanks.
Great video Guy's, sometimes people come by to run Trains, but....Not to often. I'm always working on Trees orders. Bob
Good to have some company from time to time. Great trees by they way everyone.
Love the Dudlebug Train out 2 Cars behind the Engine Wa La.great layout.

Thank you very much. Scott for the longest time thought that he was the only modern railroad around. Until he found us. :) Glad he did.
You guys seem to have a great time running trains, and just hanging out together! Good luck with the railroad, and keep making these nice videos!
Thank you. We do have nice time.

@@scottday8 225 nothing wrong with them, always wanted to turbocharge one of them. Plenty of space under the hood.

@@ModelRailroading Cool and it is great to see your gang altogether without the the thing stopping it.
I like Scott's car. i have a 68 nova
We did a road trip in it not to long ago. I will post that video at some point in time.
I had a 74 Ford Maverick.
Hope all is OK - missing you great videos!
We are doing well. Thanks for checking in. At some point a new video will get finished. :)
Nice work and beautiful layout !

Thanks Darren. I was nice to be able to find a spot the the engine shed and water tank. Maybe some day I will finish building the water tank now.

Running trains and Hanging out with other Model Railroaders Till ya Go to bed I could do that I would love To do that.
Those nice hard pretzels work much better around the layout than Doritos or Cheese Doodles when friends visit, lol.

Sounds like a lot to do. Merry Christmas.
It's been 5 months now and I really want to see what it's like today!
Conrail !
Translated by Google…….lol.
Did a little horse trading for that.
2mm is what we have here in good ol New Zealand😂
Lots of green grass from what I have seen.
And for a good part of the video, I was trying to figure out what the Bright Yellow logo on his shirt was for.... Well come to fine out it is just a cell phone in his pocket.
That's kind of funny. :)
Ok, I am a fan. I only got 2 min into the video. Subscribing and clicking bell icon. What year is the duster? Ok, back to watching.
Very nice layout. I also like the format of the videos with the narration and interaction instead of just quietly showing the layout and trains.
I believe it is a 74. Maybe Scott will correct me.
Good to hear you like the format. Sometimes I wonder if I should change it. But I like how it is. :)
Scott's car 😊
It's fun
.03937" x 2 = 2 mm... so yes
:)
Hope everything’s ok
