I love your channels so much. They have gotten me through so many things over the past couple of years. I had to move to LA and I was scared about that but your videos were not only helpful, but made it fun, and then my partner passed away from cancer and your videos as well as other lifestyle/travel vlogs helped me to remember that nice things still exist out there and that there were still things to look forward to, and now I’m going back to school and seeing you having fun out there in the world is inspiring me to be excited about school because its going to allow me to do things like travel. Thank you so much for being you and sharing all these fun things, as well as stuff on financial literacy and how people can achieve the things you get to do. It really makes a difference.

International premium economy is super nice! I flew American Airlines premium from JFK to Barcelona a few years ago and it was so comfortable, definitely worth the upgrade especially since I’m 6’1 and my knees always hit the seat in front of me in regularly economy seats. I’ve never really considered visiting the Amalfi Coast but your vlogs have convinced me to put it on my list! Hope you enjoyed your trip!

Your HAIR looked so GOOD after swimming in the ocean! Not kidding. I lived in Florida and loved my hair after it dried and the salt water. It's hard to replicate that look anywhere else.

Looks like a perfect trip! I’ve been to Italy twice and did city things. Now I wanna go back for a Amalfie coast for the beach town experience. I try to hit at least 3 countries every time I go. To justify the price of airfare to get there.

At least the US isn't that far from Europe so you can return again soon. Here in Australia the flight takes 24 hours!!

Where is this? How do I get there? What language do I speak? . . . I'm fascinated that Instagram has created a sort of "Picture Postcard" view of the world. We see the image and say, "I want to go there," not knowing where it is or how to get there . . . It sort of omits the culture and friction of travel, that if you talk to a backpacker, is a key part of the experience.
What do you mean, it's clearly Italy?
Hmm it's Italy, the speak Italian and you catch a flight there just like any place else!! I mean a quick Google will give you ALL the info you need!

Nothing about this video specifically, but I was just making a broader comment on how TH-cam videos (and Instagram) portray a sort of 'destination' view of travel, that you get on a plane and you are 'deposited' in this exotic locale - swimming, playing tennis, having drinks by the pool - and those same images and activities could be duplicated in Cancun or any other place . . . but, "traveling" through Mexico and traveling through Italy are 2 totally different experiences. When I was in Italy, I thought Naples (which is near Amalfi) was very different than Rome, and Milan in the north was like a different country. . . . When you backpack or slow travel through a country, meandering from place to place, you have more opportunities to experience the culture, have the friction of getting on buses and interacting with the locals, and it becomes a much more memorable experience. Nothing against Shelby (this is a vlog showing her experience during a quick getaway, not a travel video). Just commenting on how this 'picture postcard' view of travel differs from my own experience of slow travel.
So worth checking VAT etc overseas to get money back!
Btw for Schiphol airport in Amsterdam - you pronounce it with a hard Sch so more like "Skip-ol"
The sch-sound has no real equivalent in English I believe, it's an s followed by a guttural ch sound.

The Last Time My Buddy went to Italy he got all his gear stolen by armed robbers (they took about 6 large worth of camera stuff).
And I believe the dutch say Skippull with a hint of their throat clearing accent around the u sound. It's like you are not proud of everything in USA, we don't claim the dutch accent :)
The sch actually has the throaty sound, "skip-haul" would be closer :)
I'm glad people can still enjoy this preserved Italian riviera and culture giving the fact that Italy , Europe in General will not longer exist as we know due to the continuous non ending massive Invasion Europe is goin thru .

If I'm not mistaken, American table manners are that you cut up your food first, then lay down the knife and move the fork to your other hand.
@@Jeroen74 which is crazy! It's bad table manners or etiquette because it's like they don't learn to eat properly. Not all Americans do this though, I just noticed Shelby prefering not to use a knife at all and struggle to cut toast etc
