  • Drone flying over Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada with aerial views of Lake Superior was special for me. The city was spread out over a huge territory and hugged the lake in so many areas for both work and play. I spent some time around Lake Superior in the UP of Michigan a few times and once in Duluth; however, I enjoyed the lake more up here. I have always spent as much time as I could in Canada or the northern US and I still like to drive there today. Something peaceful just getting away from everything and driving to the middle of nowhere to be at one with nature. I recommend this area if want a short trip to Canada. Personally I saw it coming southwest even though I live in south Texas and on this trip I drove through all but the one provinces which I cannot drive to 😎
    I hope you enjoy and subscribe to this TH-cam drone channel while seeing my travels from an aerial view above nature, towns and cities in the UK, Ireland, Europe, Australia, US, Canada, and several islands @ / jamesbebop . Or my photos from 49 countries/islands, all 50 states and all but one province in Canada that I could not drive through at www.JGlowacki.com . I love to drive the world whether on the right or left with either left-hand steering or right-hand steering and of course I have become accustomed to using a stick-shift with both hands :) I truly enjoy the great food and discussions with locals wherever I have been blessed to travel. Included on this channel are some driving and snorkeling videos and even a couple bike rides I recorded.
    You can also see my beginning drone videos looking at 2016 dates when I filmed in safe nature areas. I practiced how to crash safely, how to fly with three propellers and how to ground the drone and drive to it. I practiced in snow, rain and extreme cold to make sure I understood the drones limitations before I went to the big cities. I handle a drone like I do a gun and I truly hope others do the same.
    Please share your thoughts with me; even if they are not easy to read, I need to know how I am meeting your expectations 😊

      Pretty tough now shooting with a drone, cant be within 8km of any airport or field used, even at the lake front like that the seaplane base is there and probably in that 5.6km range. Canadian Govt has made it tough to enjoy the hobby only because of folks who do dumb things with drones. 5.6 kilometres (3 nautical miles) from airports or 1.9 kilometres (1 nautical mile) from heliports

    Did you have to notify anyone you would be flying around in the drone?

    • @JamesBeBop
      @JamesBeBop  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dan, you should check locally if concerned. I fly a model of drone that will not let the motors start if I am in a no fly zone and would not let me enter the zone if I start my drone outside of it. With this said, I look at country laws when I travel and other global parameters like the EU laws when over the pond. Everything else I expect the cities/towns to register as a no fly zone and protect their rights and me.

  • @jesseislive3705
    @jesseislive3705 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Did you acquire any license or register your drone to fly?
    And do drones below 250g require those?

    • @JamesBeBop
      @JamesBeBop  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did not need anything at that time - you may want to check now as governments have become more against aerial photography.

      You must be pre 1970 to remember that - four cities joined to make Thunder Bay so I used today's name of the area I flew in which you are correct that it used to be Port Arthur :) No offence meant in my naming of the video or this answer - truly love the history of all of North America.
