At its root, this is an issue with the insurers who pay the legal fees to defend discrimination. (Outweighing it’s obligation to prevent it). More personal accountability from our “regulators “ judges, lawyers, police, administrators, etc. is a big part of moving this forward.
I just watched an old Fifth Estate episode about this city and the negative actions committed by the police against the residents of their community. As I witnessed in the Fifth Estate episode, I see the same thing here. Why do the “civil servants,” police officers and law enforcement officers and officials in the area fail to reflect the community? I see the one, only ONE, First Nations law enforcement representative, Georjann, sharing about this crisis. But look at the leaders seated on the forum. Where are the First Nations citizens holding those seats? That is racism right there, in my opinion. They don’t even have law enforcement leadership that reflects the community in which they supposedly serve!
why would an anti-aboriginal community include natives? thunder bay people admit nationally they are racially prejudiced against natives. they admit this nationally. and no one cares. what reason or incentive would they have to change their damaged view point so they could include first nations within their circle of humanity? clearly, leadership would have to be involved. and if no natives are allowed to be leaders on the level of their non native counterparts....then the natives have the same chance the jewish people had in nazi germany.
How would dismantling the thunderbay police service help raise public safety? What do they plan to replace it with? No legal guns to protect law abiding citizens, no police to protect us either, and on top of all of that we're all gonna be broke because our government spent ridiculous amounts of money on things that weren't necessary while they prevented the economy from generating wealth. Canada is looking like a real fine place to live if I do say so myself.
they can't even get murders of their own family members, including their children investigated...how the hell would they get the power to police? who would give them that right? how come canadian law puts natives far outside the reach of justice? while at the same time filling up their jails with native people? this is genocide.
I was a security guard on mobile patrol for 10 years. I had to call on the police to deal with B&E's and other things. The #1 issue I seen with the police force was incompetance although racism is a problem too.. We need to formulate our own investigation task force to start solving these crimes. All it took for one murder in Kelowna to be solved was for one officer to tail a suspect until he obtained a DNA sample. This was 18 years after the murder. Why did it take so long to do that - gross incompetence. It's on the news every day

To be 100% honest there is no justice in this World not just at the roots of Thunder bay your gonna halft to go deeper then that ... And Men/Women all born into Sin all of us are Good/Evil
Born and raised in thunder bay and here's yet another article that doesn't say that the indigenous community refuses to take accountability or responsibility for their own actions.
why would those being murdered have to take responsiblity for thier own murders? can you answer this? and no ponitificating about your racial racist theories please.
Sue the City of Thunder Bay.
Justice for all equally

Why isn't FN policing done by the Anishnabe force in Thunder Bay? That would leave the TBPS out of it all together.

Incompetent police chief and leadership that says were living in tough times ? It's about the place that you fail to protect , not the times .
in alot of crimes, their own people are involved....
The police? Yes, I agree. They commit many crimes and are never held accountable

Sadly, Jesus didn't help here either.
@@CarseyJones nope lord gave us all free will no intervention
Our city and the police have a dead native on their insignia. That explains ALOT about how Thunder Bay views indigenous people here.
Thunder Bay police are racists but who you think they learnt it from thier people and near ancestors from first contact
actually they are not.....
U must be white lol
