I like the kinda morbid idea of frying eggs for Birdo’s minigame. Like maybe it’s a dropper/breakout style game where the players control frying pans along the bottom of the screen and catch the eggs that Birdo throws down. You could throw extra style points in there if you flip the egg after you start frying it maybe.
I had ideas for new characters and their abilities if they ever did DLC. Dry Bones: Applies cursed dice to everyone you pass. Blooper: Obscures and rearranges all the items in the inventory of each person you pass (sort of like the Mario Party version of the Mario Kart blooper). Diddy Kong: Gives the option to be sent to a random opponent’s space (you can see which person he would send you to before choosing to be sent). Luma: Gives you the option to be sent forward 10 spaces before rolling. If there’s a fork in the road, it chooses a random direction. As for the minigames: Dry Bones’ could be a platforming level where you escape a castle flooding with lava, Blooper’s could be a boss fight against Gooper Blooper, Diddy Kong’s could be some kind of sidescrolling platformer akin to Jetpack Joyride (as a reference to his jetpack), and Luma’s could be a cooking minigame like the ones from Princess Peach Showtime.
I like these ideas! I have some ideas as well. Maybe make Luma Baby Luma (the apricot one with Mario’s cap), and maybe 4 or 3 of the Koopalings (then the other 3/4 would be playable)
Good video idea! This was a fun watch. One other idea I had was for one of the buddies to let you veto a minigame. If a minigame comes up that you aren't fond of, you can rerolled from the remaining options on the wheel.
Toadette could also be "good spaces are tripled instead of doubled" or "doesn't double negative spaces" And the star trap seems pretty strong so for Bowser I think something about duels or versus minigames probably inviting them in some way
8:31 Speaking of the Creepy Dice Block, I can't be the only one who REALLY hates how it can be overwritten by simply using an item such as the Mushroom or the Double/Triple/Custom Dice? At that point doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of the item?
@@SuperDestroyerFox well, super cursed sounds a lot less appealing than super creepy. @Goomba1309 Creepy dice can be used strategically to pincer an opponent into either using a movement based item that they don’t have for a later scenario or forcing them to decide between a higher chance of one bad outcome or another if they choose whether or not to override the effects. There’s also the ability to slow yourself, which itself is a strategic use of the creepy dice. And I know what you’re thinking; “Well custom is way more consistent.” It’s also more expensive and doesn’t appear everywhere, whereas creepy dice is really inexpensive and appears on practically every map.
@ super cursed does sound good though. You can say “That house looks super cursed” and it just works as much as creepy does. It doesn’t work with the extremely creepy dice as much but that’s not in the game.
I think an easier admendment for shyguy is to change activation to after you land, and then giving the option "swap colour to (other colour)?" so you can decide if the blue space you landed on was actually red while still getting the 6 coins.
Toad Get a mushroom at the start of your turn Toadette Move a star Birdo Steal items from opponents you pass Bowser Send opponents you pass to imposter Bowser Goomba(only appears on Goomba lagoon) Change the tide Shy guy Cannot be targeted Koopa Troopa Get items from the koopa troopa shop that are under 10 coins all inclusive Monty mole Dig a hole and protect you from board events Boo Steal a star with Boo at ½ price Spike Throw a spike ball in any direction ajd any opponents you hit lose 3-8 coins Pauline Sing a song and send opponents within 5 or fewer spaces of you back to the start Ninji Make opponents you pass invisible which means they cant activate board events on their next turn
I think a good one for paluen would be that she gives you an option to roll your dice backwards. Say you just missed a star because you didn’t have enough coins, on your next turn she’ll give you a roll backwards option and you can get your star, as for the mini game I’d love to see one where you climb up new donk city the fastest
Great video and great ideas! For me personally on Bowser, i think I'd be much more interesting if instead of reusing the Bowser minigames in Jamboree, they bring back his minigames from the Gamecube games (i.e Darts of Doom and Balloon of Doom from MP4, Scaldin' Cauldron from MP5) but you're trying to lose them, like his board in Island Tour or the Reverse minigames from 9
How about for shy guy where the closest player to you has to move back 3 spaces no matter what. I just feel like that if your playing with cpu players then shy guy wouldn’t matter
Making the rest of the current characters buddies would be alright for me, but I don’t like ho they’re only there for 3 turns and you can’t only have one at a time. I would like future Party games to combine buddies with the kind you have in Super Mario Party. Like you can have 4 at a time for the whole games and each give an ability! Yet there are also some characters currently not in Jamboree that I would like to see added as Buddies if they make DLC *Either 4 or 3 of the Koopalings, then the other 3 or 4 will be playable *Baby Luma (as in the apricot one with Mario’s cap) *Tatanga *Mouser *Boom Boom *Pom Pom *Mallow *Chargin Chuck *One Warioware character as a speciel guest buddy, like maybe Mona *Possibly Captain Syrup Not the best at coming up with minigames or abilities.
I would've given boo the ability to steal coins, but waluigi already has that. I would make him able to steal at the start of the turn, but thats op. Maybe when you have boo you get boo immunity?
I've seen a few videos talking about these sorts of concepts (and even made my own lmao) and it's always interesting to see different people's ideas on what effects/minigames people get. Funny how your Idea for Ninji is very similar to an Idea I had for Dry Bones (pretending he was in the game)
I think your proposed Bowser ability is too strong. How about this instead: chance to downgrade the space you land on after you get their effects: Lucky Spaces become blue, blue to red, red to unlucky, unlucky to Bowser. Bowser spaces don't affect you.
I really don’t think that the Boo ability would be a really fun ability considering how powerful it could be. Think about the scenario where you get the Boo Bell every turn that you have Boo and that you have him for three turns. That’s *six* Stars if you play your cards right, basically an entire game won off of one Minigame, which just feels unfair to all the other players. But also, think about the scenario where you don’t get *any* Boo Bells. The player who got Boo is going to feel ripped off. Luigi’s ability is one of my least favorites for that exact reason, he just feels useless half of the time. Personally, I think a simpler ability like a 10 Coin discount at Boo would work better as his ability. It’s still pretty powerful and still not guaranteed, but at least players *feel* like they can somewhat control it with items and stuff. Also, Toad’s ability isn’t really fun for other players either. Bonus + Coin Minigames already break the game’s economy and having yet another multiplier for three turns straight sounds like a nightmare. Don’t take this as a knock against your video though, I just think those abilities need some more workshopping.
Not exactly, the idea behind it is that Ninji is guarented to be with you for 3 turns, and during those 3 turns, you'll have access to the regular Buddy perks, such as collecting extra coins or being able to buy 2 stars.
I think a good Shy Guy ability could be making you immune to being stolen from
I like this, like the boo can't find you cause you're too shy and you don't get out much. ❤

I wish every character was an ally
I have felt that Bowser’s hypothetical Jamboree Buddy ability should revolve around him setting up Bowser spaces in some way.

I hate how they changed it from cursed dice block to creepy dice block. It just doesn’t make sense to call it creepy when it reduces your roll.

11:21 Loadstones do give you two coins when used, but it still tends to be a net negative when they're in your inventory.
It really doesnt make sense to me why only a small portion of the roster is Jamboree buddies. Wth Nintendo?? 😭

Toad
Get a mushroom at the start of your turn
Toadette
Move a star
Birdo
Steal items from opponents you pass
Bowser
Send opponents you pass to imposter Bowser
Goomba(only appears on Goomba lagoon)
Change the tide
Shy guy
Cannot be targeted
Koopa Troopa
Get items from the koopa troopa shop that are under 10 coins all inclusive
Monty mole
Dig a hole and protect you from board events
Boo
Steal a star with Boo at ½ price
Spike
Throw a spike ball in any direction ajd any opponents you hit lose 3-8 coins
Pauline
Sing a song and send opponents within 5 or fewer spaces of you back to the start
Ninji
Make opponents you pass invisible which means they cant activate board events on their next turn

It'd be helpful to be on the better end of a 1v3, but this is more befitting of Shy Guy, so mayne bump minigame swap to another buddy.
bowser should also have a chance of setting the trap too, or only do it once per player

Honestly, I was wondering where dry bones was the whole video before remembering he isn't playable.
I still miss him =
Why does New Donk City keep electing a mayor that causes inflation?
No, if you land on blue spaces when they are at 12 and you have Toadette its 24 not 48.
12 * 2 = 24
Boo would be so OP is you would be able to steal stars 💀
I feel like the abilites you gave for Shy Guy and Ninji should be swapped.
The toad one shoud not be treasure tracker it shoud be the find toad minigame from mario party 9
