      Yes, it is same STC for the ER. The Blackhawk STC for the 350ER comes with a new AFMS with Navigator Charts and is priced differently as a result. Our AFMS also allows for an MTOW increase up to 17,500 lbs.

There are a number of hurdles to overcome before we could bring this to the aftermarket, so while we would never say "never," we wouldn't suggest holding your breath or delaying upgrade decisions waiting on this to be available.

      Hello, and thank you for your comment!
      The XP67A-equipped KA300 delivers about 343+ ktas, whereas the 67A-equipped KA350 is round 332+ ktas. The props are not counter-rotating and if necessary, the aircraft can operate single engine on either side.

    What does this do for load carrying and fuel economy? Bc as is it seems like you've turned a King Air into a PC-12 with time and a half the cargo load( which the 350 already had) and twice the fuel burn.

    • @BlackhawkMods
      @BlackhawkMods  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Chris,
      Thanks for your comment!
      The XP67A reduces the empty weight of the 350 by about 25 lbs. However, our AFMS provides new 2nd segment climb charts which may drastically increase the load carrying capability out of high and hot airports. For example, on an ISA +20 day out of Aspen, a Blackhawk-powered 350 can take off with almost 1,000 more lbs. and meet 2nd segment climb requirements.
      For more information about the XP67A, give us a call at +1 (254) 755 6711 to speak with one of our Engine+ Upgrade Experts.

    • @Bartonovich52
      @Bartonovich52 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. 60% increase in climb to FL350.
      Because the engine is still flat rated to 1050 SHP.. climb rate is the same (or lower for same payload carried due to the higher empty weight).
      But the -60s temp out at a pretty low altitude. So anything above 20,000 feet becomes pretty slow. To 250 is ok. To 300 is annoying. To 350 is absolutely painful.
      This is why I only ever zoom up there. Typically it’s to vertically deviate around storms so I’m already at cruise speed and trade that for altitude so it takes less time to get up there. But then you run out of speed to trade and you’re down to 300 FPM.

    What does this do to fuel economy?

    • @BlackhawkMods
      @BlackhawkMods  5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Great question!
      The great thing about the XP67A is that you can get to a higher altitude much faster than the stock engines. As a result, the speed stays up and the fuel flow stays the same. A Blackhawk-powered 350 can climb to FL320 10 minutes faster than a stock model can climb to FL280. At FL320, typical Blackhawk fuel flows are 700 lbs. per hour vs. a stock engine at FL280 burning 620 lbs. per hour. Because of the speed increase, you get to your destination faster resulting in the same total fuel consumption. If you don’t fly higher with the Blackhawk, you will use more fuel just as you would if you flew a Citation II or Phenom 100 at FL280. File for higher and take advantage of the efficiencies of the 4 axial compressors on the PT6A-67A. In fact, the -67A compressor was engineered to operate at a service ceiling of 41,000 feet. This is why you can get to the service ceiling of FL350 so quickly at max gross weight.

    • @IKonrad112
      @IKonrad112 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Why would P&W engineer their engines to spin the other way for little to no benefit to the customer? Do you know how much that would cost? and for what reason? The V-22 must have opposing blade rotations since the aircraft utilizes them in a rotary wing configuration for VTOL. If they spun the same direction, and tail rotor would be needed to cancel out the torque. That is not the case for a fixed wing aircraft.
