Nah in reallife its called a “heavy touch” and its not exceptionally hard but u do have to be an incredibly rapid player to be able to perform it
It’s really not hard, it’s just depends on ur pace. If u don’t have pace then the ball has be at a shorter distance and slower

In Brazil we have something called "drible da vaca" it consists o passing the ball to yourself on one side of the adversary and running on the other side to get the ball on the opponents back, it's somewhat common.
@@OfTece Its not called a heavy touch, that’s when you intend on controlling the ball close to you but fail, If you knock it in front of you by a distance it might be called a knock on or something similar but it’s definitely not a heavy touch since he done it intentionally.
Chigiri is without a doubt my favorite character in this show, just cuz of how much I relate to him. Overcoming your fear of reinjuring yourself is not easy, especially as an athlete. And once you do it feels like nothing can stop you
No only that but I also relate to the way he plays soccer,outrunning people was my favorite thing to do when I used to play as a kid

This might’ve been my fav ep. That whole sequence with Chigiri and the music in the background watching him finally break free from what was holding him back and clutching up was so hype.

Its so amazing, it comes at full force over the whole mix, even louder than the opening
As much as I love Chigiri's weapon and how he literally destroyed the other team, I think my favorite part is right before all that, with Isagi finally smelling the goal, us the audience knowing why, and Isagi being the only one to spot the black sheep of the team. He smelled it, *felt* it, before he saw it but immediately knew who it was.
Him making eye contact with those eyes saying "I see you" RIGHT AT CHIGIRI is such a chilling moment, especially when you're aware of his spatial awareness and the fact that it's chigiri who helped him realize what his weapon was. The crazed and focused eyes of both of them are so good. Chigiri knew that Isagi would be the first to see him due to that weapon and trusted him to pass the ball.
Such a delicious moment indeed!!!!!
First true chemical reaction of the show
Best thing is it was Isagi who who inspired Chigiri to play and dream, finally enabling Chigiri to use his speed again. Then as you said, it was Chigiri who first brought the idea to Isagi that his weapon was spatial awareness. Then it was only Isagi who could smell the goal and let Chigiri have his moment to shine. They bring out the best in each other.
True, the build-up is done surprisingly well.
If you don't sprint I'll tell you right now that feeling when you hit top speed and your footstrikes are too fast for you to feel the ground is the best ever. Knees pumping, arms swinging, wind blowing and all that's on your mind is motion, absolute freedom in the form of illusory flight.
This perfectly describes it!

1:17 This line makes me love Chigiri even more. Within all this competition and drive to become the best striker, there's still that innocence and dream he holds and never forgets. It definitely reminds us that great players (some, not all) will not forget their upbringing and why they loved/played the sport in the first place.
In this environment that feeds greed and ego, it's easy to forget that.

I loved this moment, not only was it perfectly executed, but also Chigiri's monologue spoke volumes to me. You don't have to let the chains of your past hold you down. Not in magical soccer anime, and not in real life. Traumatic things happen, but trauma doesn't have to be the reason that you stop moving forward or the reason why you stop doing what you love. This will be a moment that I will carry in my heart until I die, and it will be something that I lean on when I start to waver or doubt myself.
His backstory made me emotional. He easily became my favorite character alongside Kunigami, who's no.2

I guarantee you can change your whole entire life with minimal effort. Do push ups and pull ups every day and watch what happens. Watch how different you start to look and feel. And from there you just keep getting better and better and better and expanding and expanding and pretty soon you are an anime super character lol

Actual chills here 0:40 the music stops, Kuon so confident its over, and then Chigiri with the fully colored pinkish eyes appearing right behind him, and then that cold M O V E, as he blitzes past Kuon and the other guy
This was honestly the best moment in the anime so far; especially that last minute where he passes the ball... to HIMSELF. The moment Chigiri kicked the ball past the goalie made my heart race.
0:31 Sold m the entire show for me, I was so overwhelmed with emotion and hype from this one scene I started crying.
This resonated with me so much because I was a sprinter in Track when I was in high school and was the fastest in the school at one point. It felt like I was flying whenever I gave it my all, ever since I was a kid. I didn't even have to tryout my freshman year because I was personally put on the Track team by a recommendation from my PE teacher. I ended up as one of two sophomores to be on Varsity, but I kept getting my hip flexor injured every year to where I ended up having to quit as a senior. The feeling of sprinting and knowing you're faster than everybody else is seriously like a drug, man do I miss that feeling.
When I played soccer in highschool, I played midfield and this was actually my role- I was about the second-fastest person in my entire league, so I built my stamina too and became the constant annoyance that could be anywhere on the field in “now” seconds to take a pass, run down a pesky forward, or make sure the goalie had to really catch the ball and not just bounce it away (semi-finals saw me headbutt the opposing goalie’s serve right back at him from 20 feet away 🤣 didn’t expect it to come right at me but whatever).

My favourite scene so far: the guitar intensifying as he is speeding up, his hair blowing back; the sonic booms... everything was perfect, i very rarely felt this excited watching an anime. I hope they keep the same intensity and quality for the next episodes!

I relate to his struggle as well as his recovery by a ton. I had a partial patellar dislocation last year and I was rendered unable to continue playing volleyball for a while. After returning I felt sluggish and very rusty, playing way worse than initially. While I wasn’t mocked, I felt scared of injuring the knee again thus I took it too easy. After realizing my terrible performance, I decided to throw all the worry away for just one moment and it went amazing. After that one single moment I determined I could use my leg normally again. His backstory stood out to me a lot though I was never the top player 😅
dude i have shin splints is so hard for me, now i just feel so much fear to go block and in spike can´t do my max jump, the mental part is so hard!!!
@@stevenrivas4938 late reply but yh this is definitely the thing that held me back even more for a while after recovery. My friends encouraged me to at least try to jump once. Did it and successfully hit a great spike, since then I’ve thought just like chigiri, if it breaks again so be it. I hope ur recovery has gone well

When the episode aired i rewatched the part of Chigiri breaking free and this one soooo many times. No matter how many times i wacht it, it get's me hyped
This was such a great moment. I know it's still technically a competition and in the end only one will win all, but these bonds and dreams that are forming or being revitalized is amazing. And then Kuon...what are they going to do with him? He literally tried the same tactics by going to the next team they were up against, but this time is failed and everyone was watching and listening in. If they trade players or have another elimination round on their team(which is something I'm suspecting will happen in the future...I could be wrong) the first person they're going after is probably Kuon, or he'll be the last person, because he'll be considered weak.
Team Z probably will say to him to just stand in one place without doing anything
My guess is that Team Z might pick a member to get goals to force him to comply.
Maybe kuon will sacrifice himself against v?
