I really appreciate your view on this game - a "game of patience" and one that gets the theme of the difficulty of the desert environment right. Very much appreciated (in contrast to other reviewers who are so impatient or stuck on instant gratification that it becomes a negative for them).
You weren't kidding about the density of this game. My copy arrived yesterday. There is a LOT of game in a smaller box. Thanks for the playthrough. It looks to be very exciting to play!
Hi, I'm so glad I discovered this channel thanks to this game. Subscribed immediately! It was a nice playthrough! Just two rules which I think might be important for your next plays. 1) I think you still needed to play a full day (3 turns each), after the top mission cards run out. 2) You do get a song bonus per delivery, but the rulebook says that you have to deliver all the good you want to deliver at once. So on the last delivery at the docks, I think it should have been the songs bonus just once instead of 3 times.
Been so interested in this one but shied away from it because I heard for some it takes way too long to play and that it's overly complex. Board game reviews are so subjective, some people have a hard time learning the strategy of a game, some people get A.P., some people are disinterested which makes the rest of the table have a less than stellar time. It's not possible to get an "objective" view of a game since humans are much more diverse than that bahaha. Thanks for the video, been watching more of you guys. Love the down to earth homey vibes.
Thanks for sharing the playthrough, the game looks really interesting. I've been on a Devir kick too lately (currently loving Salton Sea), so fingers crossed this one clicks with me too.
@devir does a lot of international publication/distribution. So does Iello mind you. But I know that Devir does Ancient Knowledge in some countries. So that's probably what they mean.
Great game ty. Sorry for being a party po.. but you played only 5 rounds instead of 6. On page 8 of the rulebook, it says that for 1-3 players, there are 6 turns. In this last round, no mission cards are placed, and the upkeep is not done (no prestige track bonus for turn order; I think turn order stays the same, or plants get replenished on the board. The dice still might get rerolled by the current first player in this last turn but I'm not sure because the reroll of the dice is part of the upkeep too) and then at the end of this round 6, the game ends. I believe there is a typo on page 10 because if you play until there are no more mission cards, the game will end on turn 5 (as you understood it I imagine), not 6, as page 8 says. The designer should clarify this so everybody is on the same page (pun intended 😂).
long rules are hard to present in a linear form....really!? sand 3.23 on bgg for weight the gallerist 4.25...yet the gallerist literally spells out each step of each action...

Thank you both for this wonderful play of Sand. I've been on the search for one to figure out how I can learn it and teach it to others

Kutna Hora is CGE and Ancient Knowledge is Iello. Outside of those you are correct, they are doing a great job.

This looks great!!
How would compare this to 3 Ring Circus?
I see Hegemony on the shelf - still in the shrink! Planning a playthrough? :D
