Nice,thx for sharing. Fellow 08 rdx owner. 154k bought few mo ago. Just had the valves lashed exhaust was 3 to 4 thousands tight glad I did it. Having a gas smell in my oil so looking into the injectors. I noticed a black plastic orifice kinda lvl with valve cover ledge by that big round thing below pcv tube where it comes out valve cover, is there something I'm missing there???

Does anyone know the top speed for the 2012 4cyl turbo rdx? I just got one, but the tires are sketch. Thank you for the vids.
I need to do the following to 2012 rdx fwd 4cyl turbo. For preventative maintenance and maybe peace of mind. There are no service record for this car. (Cheap car deal or possible lemon.) Car runs great I think. Plenty of pep. Lots of pep actually. Very fast little grocery getter that you can park anywhere without worrying about body damage.
Transmission oil (filter?)
Alignment
Spark plugs (?)
Coil packs (?)
Air filter
Injector clean (seafoam, Lucas, other pour in tank brands)
Do you need a turbo to installed
Where do I apply the washers?
So why? The factory part had a fantastic silicone gasket and engineers designed it for that car.

my 2012 RDX is white like yours! I drove a bit too hard and now i'm hearing a bad sound when they turbo starts spooling up... like a fan blade rubbing against something while it's spinning. I'm trying to figure out what's happening and i came across your video. the neighborhood you drove through looks like maryland, where i live! thanks for sharing the video and once i figure out my turbo problem i must just have to install a blowoff valve! cheers

@@corbinknight9702 I added more oil, it was pretty low, and the noise went away. I’m guessing the turbine wasn’t getting enough lubrication?? I haven’t heard it since and the turbo seems to be working normally

Do you need a tune up after installing the BOV? And is there any issues so far with your motor or turbo because you used a aftermarket BOV ?
I didn’t need a tune, I have no issue with it so far, other than a small amount of turbo flutter
How’s your setup so far? Any Engine light? Planning to put the same setup on my RDX 2010

All it does is release pressurize air that’s trap, if not your turbo and intake manifold will blow.
we installed this BOV on my brothers 08 and it just flutters, it won’t open at all and we have no idea why. only thing turbosmart says on their guide is about low idling and stalling but his car does nothing bad like that it just won’t go PSSSSHHHH or open at all, i’ve tried the adjustment twisting and everything and it just won’t open, any idea what could be causing this?
I went with the gfb it's cost more but work great had it for 4 years now still working and the adjustment work to how loud u want it but I notice the gas cap comes on so I just close the adjustment but u can still hear it even without it's open
Did ur rdx throw emissions code after install mine did so i had to put the stock one back on

Get gfb had mines for over 4 year now working it best no code Casue you can close or open that turbo smart will throw the code its stay open

How much adjustments were required and would it be different for all 2011 RDX?
Dude i recently got my license and my car is my parents old 2010 RDX and im looking for mods and this ones lit. Definitely gonna try and get this. You got anymore mods to make the car sound sick?
I plan on doing more upgrades such as bigger turbo, front mount inter cooler, big brake swaps , and more along the future.

You definitely hear it in the car, not sure if it’s loud on the outside.
Did you have to use any shims with your Rdx?
I did, shims cam with the BOV
How many did you have to use?
And from the most softest position, how many times do you think you turned it until it was just right
I used 3 shims, and yes, I started from the softest position, as far as turns goes, I didn’t count how many turns, I was turning it to keep the idling steady and normal.
@@SokhomGarage how do you install the shims?
You turn the adjuster pass the softest setting until it comes off, and you will see a spring, you put the shim either under the spring or over the spring, then you put the adjuster back on.

Tbh sounds just like k&n intake when throttle is released just so quieter , does it flutter ? I feel like I can hear mine flutter at a low rpm without the bov just k&n intake
It flutter when first installed, but after adjustment, it’s fine
