I got both TP3s and the Osprey Fairview 40 and they all cover different traveling needs (duration but also mostly whether I need my tech (Aer) or not (Osprey)) . The Aer comfort and organization are best in class and the looks and durability are *chef kiss*. I did get the hip belt add-on for the TP3 regular, though so far I haven't felt i needed it for the TP3 Small. Love traveling with these, wish I could do it more. I also wish I had waited a bit to get the TP3 in blue haha! xD

I love that you mentioned how the thick straps affect 'the girls' 😂 I have tried a few bags that, as comfortable as they are, they can stil get a bit cumbersome in the side chest area. I love my Aer TP3 small, but I agree with everything you said about its straps. They are THICK, and ver well padded. And it can get a little hot under them
This pack is also available in black VX42 X-Pac fabric. That version has all zippers being aquaguard and that super-bright orange internal lining. I have this pack as my personal item for plane travel. For that small side pocket, I put my sunglasses in a thinner case. That allows me to use the top small fleece-lined pocket for other quick grab items.

I used it as my personal item. But the bag looks kinda large on me. It might be due to the fact that I'm only 5'0 😂 So when I reached my seat, and placed the bag vertically on the floor while I was getting my iPad and headphones, the flight attendant came, gave me 'A LOOK' and said to me: " you know, that bag looks like it's not gonna fit under the seat". But then I assured him that it would most certainly do, and after some shoving it did! Then the guy gave me his look of approval

Question: what do you do with this bag if you are one-bagging and have to use the restroom? Do you just... keep it on your back? It's something that I don't see any women talk about when reviewing this bag (which makes me wonder if anyone has actually traveled with this bag). I purchased this bag to try out, and I think as far as their design language, it wasn't for me. It felt premium, but overly engineered and a little fussy. But my major gripe/deal breaker, which I expressed to them, was that if I was use this as a carryon/personal item, the lack of a loop on the back panel makes me wonder how the heck are people who sit down to use the restroom supposed to do so? The top handle is too centered to reach a bathroom door hook, ESPECIALLY if its packed out. Is the unspoken part that this backpack was really made to be used with a roll-on luggage? Am I missing something? Or is the unspoken part is that this bag was designed by, for, and tested by one specific gender?
I totally agree I wish there was a hook but I did manage to hook the thick top handle on the bathroom stall hook with the front of the pack facing forward (it wasn't super secure but got the job done) sorry you didn't enjoy your experience with the bag, have you tested out Alpaka Backpacks? They still feel premium but a bit less engineered and not as thick of materials
Second on the heroclip! A must-have hook everywhere for me. But I'm also the type who never takes off their backpack 😂 when going to the toilet. I will squat with it and just consider it my momentary workout on the road haha. And yes, I squat on public toilets 😂 never will I ever sit unless I'll line the seats with TP after alco wipes because 🤢.

I don’t tend to use admin panels which is a big draw back for me regarding Aer products. I wish it’s simplified as a quick access pocket and give the depth back to the main compartment.
One simple argument for me to get the bigger one without watching any videos… Mom: Get the bigger one, you need to carry all the SHET im gonna buy abroad
I agree. Aer backpacks definitely feel very premium in their materials and its super organized, but it felt and looked like I was carrying a softshell suitcase on my back. Its heavy and bulky and all the straps felt very fussy.
I do agree, I think the small is definitely better than the regular size that one looks huuuge on me. Aer has a bulky thick look to their bags, a style some people loveeeee, but for others can kinda be a hassle
