If you have never operated an airless sprayer, please watch the tutorial in the link I share during the introduction, as they can be very dangerous if misused. They can cause injection wounds that may be fatal or lead to amputation. Don't forget to subscribe!😊
Finally! A PRO has said the real reason for back rolling. IT is NOT to push the paint into the substrate. It is to match the profile of the finished product (As he said for touch ups and such.) I talk to too many people who think spraying it not the correct way to apply paint to a ceiling or wherever cause they think it is a cheat and does not apply the paint correctly. e.g. does not "press" the paint into the wood or drywall and it will fall off or peel.
In my experience, if you're painting a wall or ceiling that's already painted you don't have to back roll. Back roll is important on like new drywall or raw wood or t111 siding. But just the first coat. The second coat you can just spray without having to back roll. I spray ceilings and walls 2 coats in a cross pattern and it always looks good or at least no worse than if you back rolled it. Nothing against back rolling I approve the method but only if necessary. Just don't spray too fast and make sure you're actually getting paint on the wall and it'll look good. But the reason for backroll isn't for easy touch ups later. You can spray and back roll then go to touch up the wall and it'll still be visible when you look at it from the side. The reason is because an airless sprayer atomizes the paint through a hole the size of a pin needle. This changes the sheen of the paint just slightly. So if you spray it and go to touch up out of the can you'll see it no matter if you back roll or not. What I like to do is spray about a quart into an empty paint can and leave that for touch ups. The paint has this fluffy consistency to it which is really nice to paint but it also makes touch ups practically invisible. It's not a secret but 90% of painters don't know about this.
Your telling everyone they can do this without letting them know the dangers of an airless. In my 22 years of painting I've seen bad accidents that once happen you cannot reverse and you should be explaining that first.
@chunkmasterflex9010 Duly noted. That is something I should have considered for this particular video, although I do point people who haven't used an airless sprayer before, to a very detailed video on how to operate one safely!
@chunkmasterflex9010 In the video on how to use an airless, I instruct people to always use the safety when not actively spraying, and of course that it is operating at a dangerously high psi!

I have a house needing to be painted....
I hope my husband follows these tips.
@Buddahgirl71 If not, she can follow the instructions and easily tackle the job herself.
BTW. I am really enjoying your posts!
I really appreciate it!

@senyashchukin391 Thank you for the feedback man!
That’s super interesting, I feel like no matter what you do you’re going to see a touchup flash
@coreyhamilton6485 As long as you back roll, you can touch it up with a roller or brush. If you spray it on you have to spray your touch up.
Good stuff
@@jackm5564 Thanks always!
What nap length do you use if the ceiling is not textured? Thanks!

@@ahjuns It will lay down smooth regardless!
