I remember while at Microsoft I saw a "Future of Teams" type video and this is getting really close to what was demonstrated in that video with AI-driven transcriptions. The ONLY thing really missing was the ability for the Teams Room to detect when all the attendees where present (which has dubious privacy concerns) and automatic capture of actions and tasks through that transcript. One hopes the Task Capture is on roadmap!
Nice feature! Since which version is available? Does it work just for English transcription or some other languages are supported (e.g. German, Spanish)?
Fantastic feature! Quick question....does the life transcription always have to be visible to everyone during the meeting, or can it be hidden. Just want to ensure that people do not get distracted watching the transcription during a meeting.
Any meeting participant with presenter permissions can record. The person who initiates the recording also controls sharing rights for the recorded video file.
It's currently for US English, with more languages coming soon. More info is here: techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-teams-blog/live-transcription-with-speaker-attribution-now-available-in/ba-p/2228817
Hello, I had arranged a Teams meeting last week and clicked the transcript button. Such a great tool, because I could participate in the meeting. My manager has asked for meeting minutes. However, I'm thinking that they want it in the minutes company template. Is there a way for this to be formatted in such a way? Personally I think its great as is.
No, anyone with speaker permission can start or stop the transcription if it's been enabled in your tenant. The one thing to note is that if you record video, the person who presses record is the owner of the mp4 file and has additional privileges compared to others in the meeting. Internal participants also tend to have more permissions for meeting related files and chat compared to guests from other domains.

This is super helpful for my disability
Amazing Feature. I hope this also becomes available in channel meetings or Meet now meetings
This is the best thing since sliced bread
Will the real time transcription be visible to everyone during the meeting or only to myself if I chose this option?
Love this feature - makes my life so much easier!
This is awesome feature, waiting for this
Thanks Sir, This tips done my work easier...
Very much needed and appreciated. Thanks!
Very cool! Thanks for surfacing the feature which is especially helpful with so many virtual meetings going on.
Awesome, I hope I can try this soon
Awesome addition. When will Teams allow us to change the font? Right now the only thing we can do is 'zoom' and there are very few text sizes.
Nice feature!

Great Update. just a quick question, will others also know that transcription is on just like video recording option ?
Yes, participants are also notified for transcriptions
Awesome can’t wait to try this out!!!!
Great feature.
Thanks a bit overdue. 🙂
thankyou!
Good video. My only issue was I couldn’t quite see how you were muting people or what button you clicked.

Yes, you can hide it from the right pane.
@@MSFTMechanics Are the notes visible to the participants or can be made private and shared after editing?
Great feature. Are transcripts searchable for sensitive information (for DLP purposes)?
Helpful
Glad it helped
Not sure if the transcription can be other languages
Great tips
Is this feature exclusive to the meeting’s organiser or any of the parties can do so?
Any meeting participant with presenter permissions can record. The person who initiates the recording also controls sharing rights for the recorded video file.
Can you record and use transcription at the same time?
Yes, you can set it up so that the single "Start recording" control simultaneously records audio/video and begins speech to text transcription also.
What languages is this currently available in?

Can the other attendee know that I am using this option? And can I do it if am not the host
Yes, when you record or transcribe a meeting, everyone is informed and you need presenter rights to start the recording.
Can I do that note taking if I’m not the organizer?
Yes, as long as transcription is enabled in your tenant and you have speaker status, you can turn on transcription.

Do you have to be the organiser to start the transcription? If its the same as the video its a little pain in the ass actually...
