  • Remission Mentality for Ulcerative Colitis
In this video I give the mindset that I think you should adopt if you're looking to escape a flare up of inflammatory bowel disease (crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis) and end up in long term remission.

This is by far one of the best videos you have done. I am certainly not knocking your other videos. People that blame other things or people for their illness etc are just going through an emotion cycle. From the moment of diagnosis people start that cycle, it normally starts with disbelief and upset, then it moves onto anger and then blame. I have been through a horrid time as have many others. I am convinced my negative mindset let to constant flares and surgery after surgery. For a longtime I relied on the medical World to 'fix me.' I reached a stage where I had to change things and change my mindset. I had to take control of my crohns. I made some big decisions and in January this year I stopped all medications and took control of my mental state. I have a much different outlook now compared to a few years ago. I truly believe that mindset has kept me out of hospital. I dont stress about my crohns and I don't worry about it anymore. Since coming of meds I have had no issues. I have thought about doing a similar video on my channel. If I do I will let you know. Great video mate.

Cheers Sydney that means a lot mate please let me know if you make a video on that topic, I'm super interested too as a fellow ostomate - just checked out what you're doing on your channel, love that you're helping sufferers in that department, I was lost following the surgery 6 years ago, definitely a need for people like you to discuss those matters, I'll go over and subscribe :) Mindset is huge when it comes to Crohn's, colitis and also living with a stoma. Sometimes I've found that the more someone tends to go through, the more they end up taking matters into their own hands because they've been failed so many times by the professionals. I'm definitely at peace with everything that's gone on with me in the past, but man there would be a huge list of people I could say contributed to the body I've ended up with today. Sometimes as you mentioned above, it's not always about feeling 100% fit and amazing, but being more at peace and not getting overly angry and frustrated with yourself when it comes to mistakes you might've made or pathways you've taken.

In my opinion the most important trait to get healed is:
"Staying with problems and being a good listener."
Success is just failure turned inside out. And we can learn a lot from experiences and failures of others if we listen and then experiment carefully with our own bodies, we can progress faster and safer.
And we have to stay with the problem, it's very unlikely it will go away if we don't change anything.
We must take the step back and to prioritize our health over other things, because without good health our chances for success are miserable.
Just take your time to recover first.
    To heal yourself:
1, Watch and understand your body (use the leverage of learning from others)
2, Rest your body (Avoid damage at all cost it's easy to hurt hard to heal, eat easy to digest foods - preferably rich in enzymes and good bacteria - fermented foods etc.)
3, Nourish your body (Replenish yourself with Vitamins, Minerals, Calories eat good quality foods and give your body material to heal itself - also through inflammation)
4, Disinfect your body (get out of toxins, harmful bacteria or fungi)
5, Reculture your body (restore your gut microbiome, eat living and fermented foods full of good bacteria)
Try to do all of those 5 points at the same time, try to understand principles rather than simply follow advices, otherwise you will walk in circles.
Stay strong and go forward even if you feel in doubt and hopeless, go on, because only that way you can change how it is now.
Good luck and lots of Health on your journey!

Yes Michal love this! Always be open to new information from multiple different avenues and don't identify with what you've been told the disease is: would be my number one for people looking to recover. As for practicality, you bring up some very important points, especially when people are wanting to change their health situation, but aren't willing to change anything about their lives, it needs some real evaluation. Testing before treatment is another important tool if it's available to the individual as well!

    Great video..
Mindset is a huge thing about our disease..
Healing can take place but requires everything to fall in place..
I think stress has a lot to do with it..

The mind is definitely where healing starts aaron, stress is a big part of that. Most of the time emotional stress is purely perceptional and so mindset shifts can really shine a positive light on that. Feel less stressed -> don't try to rush healing -> be open to new info -> gradually stumble across things that improve your health

Love your videos..and always look forward to a new one ..
As it reminds me l am not by myself with this illness...
You are a very good person and l can relate to you and your past...
You give people hope to there future...

10:00 I refused to take medication, instead trying to heal with a lot of vitamins, oils, the keto/carni diet and fasting water and dry.. And I still bleed and bleed... Guess have to take those damn meds now to get rid of the inflammation first

Yasi it's definitely tough, sometimes a man-made problem requires a man-made solution. Never feel defeated going back down the conventional pathway, just keep track with your experiences and make a note of what works. Sometimes it's not all about giving the body more, but by identifying the problem through testing and helping to facilitate the removal/balancing out of that particular component. Keep searching :)

I just had to admit defeat and do the same, the goal is to be medication free in remission but look like I have to take the meds to get the inflammation down first
