When I played vanilla P4 in 2010 I was so annoyed by her introduction that I immediately wrote her off. Playing P4G this year I realized she actually has a character arc of insane growth, both with the romance and platonic route. She's my favourite non-teammate waifu now, promoted from "at least it's not Ayane" to A tier.

I absolutely adore Ai. Shes not my first pick for best girl, but she's still an incredibly good girl & I think that you weren't really supposed to go out with her. You were supposed to see that she loved the idea of a relationship more than she loved you at the time she proposed dating, & you, as the Chad Narukami need to help her on the path to self betterment.
Honestly she kinda grew on me later on. Everyone hates her guts and I wont lie i did at first to but she gets a legitimately good arc that feels much more natural and better if you choose not to fake date her imo. I don't think she's best girl in P4G but she's far from the worse/bad tbf. She also doesn't just immediately simp over the MC like most Persona fan favorites which is a welcome change of pace imo.
I love any character with good character development. So though I didn’t like her at first, she soon grew on me. But most of the time the best romances or characters tend to be a tough nut to crack at first. Because through their arrogance and ice cold demeanour, is a heart of gold. You just have to bury deep
Honestly, one of the few girls in Persona outside your main partners that I enjoyed spending time with. Not when she was being bratty, but how the game bait and switches you if you attempt to romance her too early. It was very clever and I believe one of the girls eligible confidants that can actually friendzone you instead. Also love the hilarious idea of "Yu and Ai" Sounds cute and funny.
Best girl in P4. She's a lot more complex than people give her credit for and her actual personality can demanding but no nearly as annoying as her front from the first half of the SL.
Ai would’ve been so interesting as a party member,she’d be better developed character wise and she’d be a refreshing personality in the IT. Her personality would’ve been interesting with Rise and Yu. She isn’t bad just a bit stuck up in game and dramatic but if she spent more time with Yu outside of the SLink she would’ve been one of the best characters imo(same with Aika) 💗Ai is waifu material she just had a bad first impression. In the end she’s chill and accepts herself more.Doesnt matter if you friend zone her or date her. She’s one of the better written SLinks and unique characters!
I think that Ai is better as a friend than as a lover, at least for Yu. The point of the links is to help others face themselves, which is why her SL has a "fake lovers" route, and the "real lovers" route only opens if you have the guts (actually, common sense) to friendzone her initially, and while it does hurt her a bit if you do it again she understands and is fine with it (as with Chie and Marie, who I also believe do better in terms of growth in their respective friendship routes; in comparison, Rise doesn't take the rejection nearly as well, but due to her decision to go back into showbusiness with her newfound revelation I believe friendzoning her makes the most sense for her as well). Out of all the "friendzone" links I definitely like Ai's the most.
Ai Ebihara is NOT waifu material, and that's the whole point of her character. Girl needs to get her shit together, and romancing her actively gets in the way of her being capable of healthy interpersonal relationships. Honestly, I think she's one of the best written characters in P4, largely because she subverts the idea held by a lot of adolescents - particularly the target audience of the game, i.e. awkward kids whose biggest fantasy is social competence - that being in a relationship is magically going to fix your emotional problems.
Agreed, Ai is nothing but a manipulative witch who sees Yu Narukami as nothing but a means to mask her insecurities while dealing with rejection, even Ai confesses so. Honestly, anyone who romances her in the game are either idiots or desperate enough to want her.
If you romance her when she's deseperate and just looking for a fallback, yes. If you romance her after she found herself and accepted that she has to change, why not really ? Peoples change that's the whole point of most social links expecially the moon ones, which are the most often about someone with issues going through character developpement. At the end of her social link she's a new perosn ready for relationship. Not the one I picked but I wouldn't blame anyone who did.

Unless you have an earlier save, you're stuck in the platonic route. You enter the romance route by turning her down in rank 6. As for fixing the reversal, wait a couple days and she'll show up by the shoe lockers again. You'll then have to spend a timeslot reconciling and then you can continue as normal.
@@azrieldreamer If you play vanilla P4 you can be a complete Chad with zero consequences. Even in Golden you can string the sidechicks along without worry. In Ais case you just have to remember that asking someone out three minutes after she tried jump off a roof is a bad idea, even in anime.

I like most social links, even the annoying ones. I appreciate that characters like Shu and Ai aren’t perfect and even in the end, whilst there’s still parts of them that might be annoying, they develop during the year and most likely go on to be better people. Not every good character has to be a perfect waifu.
If you choose to join the soccer team, Ai would have feelings for Daisuke instead. However, instead of a love triangle, Daisuke would be uninterested in romance due to a previous breakup shown in his route of the strength social link.
I love Ai, may sound strange but hear me out. Most people in life have average looks and below average personalities. Ai has Great looks but a terrible personality. She's simply working with what's she's got. Her appearance is so important to her because if it was less than to the highest standard what would she have?
