    Great video! My old club had a tube arrangement which loaded up wagons on the layout using an old film pot. We even had spillages which added dust and therefore weathering to the hopper wagons.
    Plus 3D Printing is great, there are so many possibilities there. You can even get yourself scanned by ModelU of Bristol and have yourself spear on your own layout or diorama.

      Thank you for your kind words. There is no doubt that 3D printing has opened up a whole new world now where we are only limited by our imagination. Thank you for taking the time to view and leave a comment

    An informative video Roger - thank you!👍
    In terms of passengers I find 3.5mm Preiser unpainted seated people (16358) are an excellent fit in 4mm coaches.😉
    It just takes lots of time to paint them....
    When it comes to freight loads the wooden stirrers found in coffee shops can be useful as sawn timber then there is the old trick of using painted spaghetti for rodding. Some of the small independent manufacturers found at shows can also provide loads for wagons.🤔
    As for coal? Ewhurst Green uses (wait for it) coal!

      I'm glad I'm not the only one that uses coffee stirrers! lol....They are a great resource when we have some imagination. Many thanks for viewing my friend and taking the extra time to comment :)

    Hi roger mate hope you are keeping well buddy, excellent tips for new up and coming modeller getting into our wonderful hobby, i myself have added figures and wagon loads to enhance the realism to a lot of my stock and scenery at quite cheap prices, really enjoyed watching as always kind regards Danny 👍🏻👀👋🏻🤩

      Many thanks for you kin words and support Danny. IN an age where the costs of our hobby are highlighted I think we also need to remember that some things can be achieved at relatively low cost, especially with a little bit of imagination. Take care mate

    Hi Roger. You mentioned the challenges with fitting passengers into carriages; how about the model National Express coach and similar models?

    • @StBlazeyModelWorld
      @StBlazeyModelWorld  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      HI Paul, the EFE models are very easy to dismantle and one simply has to glue if the figures. I prefer to use araldite (Or similar 2 part glue) as I found in the past that superglue dries to quite a brittle texture and then passenger are left floating around! :)

    Hi Roger.
    You and myself are on the same page.
    Want to put little people in my carriages and rail cars.
    If you have watched my Heljan class 15 review, I use 5 hoppers as part of the review. All the loads in them I've made from plastic card and ballast, not heavy but looks the part.
    Great vlog buddy thank you.

    I have that engineering lorry it came with a load in the box, it was a load supposed to represent a small pile of something like ballast or tar , or at least it did with the EFE Gilbow branding in the blue box. I prefer no passengers and drivers but only because I have more coaches and locos parked up than operating as seeing a carriage full of ppl in the depot is worse than no ppl on the operating service but agree there should be an option included. Heljan have put magnetic roofs on their latest O guage releases so very easy to put passengers in, lets hope OO and N get the magnetic roofs.

      Good information on the lorry. Like everything I featured in the video these were older items, mostly purchased second-hand, that I had kicking about and wanted to improve. Magnetic roofs seems like a fabulous idea to give the option of more interior detail available to those unsure about ripping models apart

    Great video again, Roger. we've added loads to our lorry's and wagons and plenty of details to our layout, as you may have seen on our videos. However, we've not tackled putting passengers into vehicles yet. I've got some 3d printed figures, which I've got to paint up, and then I'm hopefully to add them to an EFE bus. So there's a future head scratching project, im sure. Have you seen my grandson's latest couple of videos, which feature stop-motion animation 'A Busy Day In Dylington ' and 'The Dukes of Hazzard visit Dylington ' he's done a great job of creating them. If you've not seen them, take a look and let me know what you think. He's building Petite Properties Kits at the moment, ready for his 009 layout he will be building soon, which I'm sure he'll be filming and posting updates on his channel once he gets started. Anyway, you've got me thinking about the passengers again ... cheers James 🙂👍

      I'm sorry to say that I haven't watched much of anything on TH-cam lately. I always put my "real" life first and it has been hectic. One of my first videos was about breaking into an EFE bus but if you need further help don't hesitate to ask. I will watch those videos later today :)

    • @DYLINGTONMODELRAILWAY
      @DYLINGTONMODELRAILWAY 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @StBlazeyModelWorld I don't blame you for not spending too much time watching TH-cam videos. You have to live your life, and besides, if you're watching TH-cam, you're missing out on modelling time, and it's hard enough to find the time for that. I'll check out the bus videos... Cheers James 🙂👍

    At the prices we pay now, passengers and lighting should be included

      I'll check out that video later. It is a good point, cars as well need passengers/drivers to add that final touch
