Well, if nothing rude youth, that’s as good a reason as any for starting a channel! It’d be ok if the little swines went outside once in a while, but the phone zombies are taking over after all it seems…. :(

Excellent video as always thank you Roger, hope you are on the mend & feeling better! All the best
Cheers Lee. Slowly getting better mate. Thanks for viewing and taking time to leave a comment
I have not seen nor thought about that tool for over 40 years. Thanks for the nostalgia trip.
They have been around a long time and I've constantly used them. Now days it is too tempting to dig out a rotary tool, which can be over aggressive I think :)
Hi Roger. Nice to seeing you getting well again buddy. Use my fiber tool all the time, like you works a treat on points. Thanks Roger great vlog. Keep getting better. Thumbs up thumped 👍 ....Pete....
Hi, many thanks for your kind words Pete. I have been able to dip in and out of the odd live stream but ran out of energy. Hopefully well on the road to recovery now. Many thanks for viewing and leaving such a kind comment
It's a great looking tool and so simple. Easily cleaned as well. Glad to hear you're in better health, Roger. I know it can't be easy. Many thanks for the straight forward, no nonsense video about the glass-fibre pencil, with all the safety advice too. I've used the writing pencil in the past. The Fibreglass version is one thing I don't have, but have used other fine items instead. With care, I might add. Wishing you all the best for the Festive Season, Christmas and the New Year, sir. Cheers!
Many thanks for warm words Flmo. I am on the streams sometimes but have not had the energy to go the whole distance. Hopefully I'll see you around soon. Happy festive season to you and yur loved ones as well my friend :)
Love mine! Good luck with the mend, Cheers!
Many thanks for viewing and commenting :)
interesting photos ! :)
Many thanks Mystic. Always helpful for detailing a model diorama :)
thank you for introducing me to this tool Roger!
Glad to help

Many thanks
Definitely a needed tool in many hobbies... and some house and automotive work! Cheers, Roger. We are sorry to hear you've had another rough patch! Best wishes to you! Take care!
Slowly I am on the mend. I've been able to join a few live chats briefly but thats about all. Time moves on and we can-nnot control it. As ever my dear friend, many thanks for your continued support. Peace and love to you and Joyce x
Very nice work, once I pop off the body of a loco, there’s only a 50/50 chance it will ever run again.
That.s happened to me as well my friend so don.t run yourself down so quickly...it's all a learning curve :)
The fibreglass pencil is a great tool. I use it when refurbishing old locomotives that have been sitting idle for decades or old points and track fishplates. I always use gloves and a smock to avoid getting coated in fibreglass strands. I cover my work surface with scrap paper.
Great point! I have nothing against chemicals or abrasive wheels but there is a time and a place and I have always believed in starting with the softest solution first :)
@StBlazeyModelWorld my favourite cleaning product for wheels and rails is lighter fluid. I use the fibreglass pencil to remove stubborn oxidation. I also use contact cleaner spray. I don't use brass rotary tool brushes, apart from considering it unnecessary, I often do locomotive maintenance late at night and I doubt the racket produced by the rotary tool would be appreciated in my flat with wafer-thin walls.... when I'm in my studio at night I can actually hear the bloke nextdoor snoring through the wall 🤣
Yes good tool to have Roger . And good to hear your well again. Take care of your self .
Cheers Allan, The last few weeks have been hard going but hopefully now, things are on the up. Many thanks for your continued support my friend
Hi Roger. I was around in those days, beeching has a lot to answer for, posthumously of course. Great pics. Roger thank you. Thumbs up thumped 👍 ....Pete....
He certainly did. BR were just as bad though in some ways. I remember the sidings at Newquay being lifted, together closure of Platfom 1 and demolition of the main station building and now, in 2024, some great travel plan has been devised that will involve re-instating Platform 1 and re-laying of track for a Cornish "metro type train" to link Falmouth with Newquay.....so much for long-term vision :(
Excellent video Roger mate a forgotten useful tool that you don't see much of nowadays, very handy and useful as you explained, well worth having for cleaning wheels etc, really enjoyed watching as always, hope your keeping well and happy modelling kind regards Danny 😊😃 😀
Many thanks Danny, glad you enjoyed it mate. I think these days people are all too easily tempted to dig out the power rotary tool and give it large on wheels and stuff like that but it is a very abrasive harsh process. As ever my friend, stay safe
Ghostly. Very cool and melancholy to see some of it. What it was and what it is.
As always Anthony, Many thanks for viewing and commenting :)
Very nice. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching and commenting :)
excellent advice

cool
Many thanks Digger, stay safe mate
Very interesting, the UK is rich in history, have a great weekend
Many thanks for viewing and commenting. Glad you like it
For me the classic 125 livery will never be beaten. All the subsequent liveries around the country just didn’t do it. I still remember the excitement of seeing it as a lad - there was just nothing like it and I don’t think there has been since. I certainly can’t get excited about dull dark green Hitachi units….
I know exactly what you mean. I crossed them all off in my combined volume as a spotter. I'm not fan of the Hitachi green units but I have to say the HST Castle sets we have here look quite good in the GWR green Many thanks for viewing and commenting
Awesome pictures of all the infrastructure and I love that pic of the famous brunel suspension bridge 🌉
Yeah its just some of my photos through the years mate but glad you liked them
@StBlazeyModelWorld I did mate really nice compilation of photos
Nice, I enjoyed watching 👍🏻
Many thanks
Great ref photos, Roger a lot of black hole oxford could be filling in the range.
For me I see many great railways with wonderful detail but the vehicles are not really represnted. In the 70s and 80s you could not really go anywhere without seeing a yellow BR vehicle. Oxford do make some but there is much more that could done as you say
Oh, wonderful images! It is, in all its forms, a classic.
Yes it certainly is Anthony. The first power car 253 001 is preserved at the NRM in york but I cannot remember if it was on display when visited a couple of years ago.
marina/ital west yorks registered
May well be, I don't know about such things....I just make the vdis lol
😊😊👍👍❤❤
Thank you
A most interesting look at these vehicles, almost all of which I'm seeing for the first time here. Do you know if any of them were produced as models too?
Thank you for your question and viewing. Oxford Diecast produce a number of BR models in Yellow livery at 1:76 scale, ie, suitable for 00 or H0 scale :)
@@StBlazeyModelWorld interesting! Shall check out their website and maybe try and get a few down to Sri Lanka.
@@ashraaqwahab2817 Yes please do so. Also worth mentioning that at one BR (British Rail) operated the ferries beween Portsmouth and Isle of Wight under the name of Sealink. I'll be making a video about those soon my friend :)
Interesting looking vehicles. Thanks for sharing.
Many thanks, normal programs resuming as soon as I recover from ill health :)
Hi Roger. Some great pics there buddy. Was that an old standard tube stock I spotted. Worked on the tubes as a driver for 14 years, never got to see the standard stock. Thanks for sharing. Thumbs up thumped 👍 ....Pete....
Indeed it was old tube stock Pete. On the Isle of Wight there is height restriction on the tunnel at Ryde Station. Standard stock does not fit and that is why ex tube stock was used.
