I always heard you should remove the battery before removing or installing RAM as there can be an electrical current still flowing through the mobo.
That is 100 percent correct, sometimes i do forget that :)

Before making a purchase, I have a few questions that I would like to inquire about:
1. What is the laptop's build quality and durability? Is it designed to withstand daily use and potential travel?
2. What is the warranty period for this model, and what does it cover? Are there any extended warranty options available?
3. Could you provide information on the battery life? Will it be sufficient for regular usage?
4. Does the laptop have good thermal management to prevent overheating during prolonged use?
5. Does the laptop have dedicated graphics or only integrated graphics? . Could you please confirm the storage capacity and type (e.g., HDD or SSD)? Is it expandable or upgradeable?

1. Build quality is excellent.
2. This notebook was introduced in 2016 so it will be out of warranty, but if you buy refurbished you can get warranty.
3. If the battery is new or in a good condition 4400mAh you can get 6 hours screen on time with websurfing.
4. The notebook only comes with intel graphics card so thermas are good - if the cooling system is clean.
5. Only integrated - but there is the Z version "HP Zbook studio G3" this has nVidia
6. Probably not.
7. In 2023 I would buy the G5 at least, it comes with intel 8gen CPU which is a lot faster with twice as many cores and fully supports Win11, but I still have the G3 so if you have any questions fell free to ask.
Like most business class laptops HP 840 G3 is well built and suitable for travel and extensive use. Since this laptop model is now more then 7 years old i would think that warranty is out of question but agree with @Secna, you might get a deal with refurbished machine.
Had good few of these laptops in the past and as they all came used battery life was about 3-4 hours but that can be definitely less as well, new batteries are not that expensive and can be purchased separately.
As @Secna already said these models have intel integrated graphics and is plenty for everyday use.
Storage is expandable and upgradeable as per video, you have choice either 2.5" SSD or M.2 SSD.
Basic antivirus is included in Winddows 10-11 installations, if not enough then free or paid antivirus can be added with ease. As for MS OFFICE licence.. unsure that you will get fully licenced version on refurbished laptop.
