Steven, just a reminder. The only change in line up was Matt replaced Avi on bass in late 2017. So Avi was bass 2011-2017, Matt was bass 2017-present. Thank you so much for reacting to this song.
That's something I really respect with Pentatonix. The fact that they never "lean on pretty". They don't just get happy with the fact that they were really talented at the start and stop there. They continue to develop themselves, challenge themselves, be curious and open and interested. They don't just skate on the fact that they will sell christmas albums whatever they do. They still want to make their next album and tour "the best one yet". I respect that!

Kirstin spells it on all her Social Media account's so that is what I go by as many fans use different spelling. She has really blossomed since she did "Kinky Boots" on stage. If you want more info on this video they also released a BTS -- Behind The Scenes video of how they made the video.

Scott, Mitch, Kirstin and Kevin have been there for all 10 years - Matt joined after Avi left, but that's the ONLY change.

Great reaction. Thank you. They are incedible. I was so happy to see you reacting to Pentatonix again. You were missed. They have relelased a lot of music and videos recently. Their Christmas tour started Saturday, 11-27-21. It has been described as magical. Today, 11-28-21, marks the 10-year anniversary of the date they won The Sing Off in 2011.

Mitch is a counter tenor, meaning he doesn't need to use falsetto. Hes a tenor who can naturally reach soprano. Meaning he can hit higher than Kirsty. He CAN use falsetto if it calls for it, but generally it's that amazing counter tenor voice. If you want to see the difference, listen matt, Scott, and Kevin when they go high. those are falsettos and you can see are straining to hit those notes and their voices are
Thin and unnatural, tho amazing. Then listen to Mitch hit those notes and you'll hear the power behind his voice, and with zero strain. It sounds natural. So Mitch counter tenor , literal definition of it, not falsetto. Hence his designation as a once in a generation voice.
Highly recommend the live version of this song from the recent iHeartRadio Christmas special. Another amazing performance from that special is “I Saw Three Ships,” which wasn’t a song I previously knew, but they slay it.

Mitch, Scott, Kevin, and Kirstie have been in the group since 2011.

Do people always think there were multiple member changes because of how much Kirstin and Mitch changed their looks or something? Lol! (Steven, there has only been one member that left... the bass Avi Kaplan who had the beard, long hair, and wore beanies a lot. The new bass as of 2017 is Matt Sallee, who's also amazing!) :)
Remember, Mitch is an honest-to-God countertenor! Some equate countertenors as male sopranos. Countertenors were much more prevalent in classical singing in the 16th century (because many were castrati). Obviously, countertenors are rare today. Mitch has taken that glorious voice and adapted it to the pop art form!

I remember the first time you reacted to them when they did their Evolution of Rihanna. I remember you saying then how much you liked Mitch's voice. I also loved your reaction to Mitch singing Your Power. Although I love all of them and think they are incredibly talented, there is just something extraordinary about Mitch that gives me chills every time he sings. And he makes it look effortless.

They really do work on their craft. In addition to Mitch's remarkable instrument, Kirstin's voice has also developed, from a merely pretty mezzo to a melodic Broadway star belt that can cover alto up through all the sopranos. Scott is proving his baritone cred in this - usually he keeps to his upper range. Kevin takes on orchestral percussion in this and kills it. Matt came to the group having memorized all the bass parts from everything PTX he could find, and his range is stretching daily: his depth and gravitas in this is remarkable.
They are my all time favorite band and fyi they are amazing in concert.

It's always amazing to me that a song like this with another language can make you cry when you don't even know what they are saying just because of the way they are emoting and interpreting the song. Goosebumps and teary eyes every time.

Have you watched the 2016 PopSpring concert of theirs? All of them have their moments. Although I’m partial to Mitch, I try not to be, but I am.
Rather than say they never use instruments, I would say, they don't use instruments often. But the KO does famously play cello, Scott plays piano on a few songs and it appears that Matt plays drums in their new stage show. As long as it does not change their vocal arrangements, I have no problem with that.

I love this song they are so good. I want to introduce you to a Filipino singer Marcelito Pomoy who sang this live at a radio station called the Wish Bus in the Philippines. This was his audition song at the America’s Got Talent the Champions edition last year. He will blow your mind like the judges even Simon Cowell. But you have to react to the one in the Wish Bus first 🥰
