  • New PCC bull arrives at our grass fed farm and a herd update. Calving season is almost done for the year.
    Hello folks, My name is Jason Chrisman, I manage grass fed cattle, pastured poultry and keep bees which I sell. We lease organic farm land for the cattle and poultry to graze in a rotational formation. I've learned a lot to this point and want to share the knowledge I've gained, so please subscribe and feel free to comment or ask questions. Check out my beekeeping channel here: / jasonchrismanbees

      @Grace Homestead Awesome! Glad you enjoyed it. Yes, they are my goats. They are a blast to watch run and jump. Great weed eaters too! They are at my home farm. I gave a little tour of my home farm on my other channel, it's toward the end of this video th-cam.com/video/s_rX-KbZqyM/w-d-xo.html

    I know that you have crossbreds but what re your different breeds? It looks like angus with some hereford in some? Like your channel. Great well taken care of herd.

    • @GrazingAcresFarm
      @GrazingAcresFarm  ปีที่แล้ว

      Mostly Angus red & black. Some are what is called a Baldy which is a cross of an angus and hereford. Usually baldys have a white head and black body. We culled the herefords we had.

    The lines are called a lot of different things. Happy lines, smile lines and performance lines seem to be the most common. Your cattle and forages look great bro.

      @Brent Eason Farms That's it, thanks man! I tried searching Greg's channel for what he called the line with no luck. I am surprised how well this pasture looks, I had to mow it 5 weeks ago due to Cockle Burrs that where 3 feet tall and about to start seeding out.

      @@GrazingAcresFarm No problem, I guess I passed the Greg Judy fan boy pop quiz for today, lol.
      Yeah, I clipped mine back in mid July when the weedy stuff started getting out of control and getting too shady for the grass and clovers and that worked pretty well. The grasses got to head out and seed better. They should continue to strengthen in population density for next season.
      A neighbor cut his about when you did and his looks great also. He had much better grass stands than I do but he's been grazing for decades on established pastures. My main farm has had to just regenerate from scratch in the last handful of years. It's getting there though, happy with the progress so far.

      @Castle Hive You got me rolling over here!! 😂😂 Very true though! lol Now that I think about it a lot of the things I say about the cows a person shouldn't say to their wife. lol
      Still no calf from the springy gal. Right now, I have right around 80 head counting calves.
