    Great deer proofing on the gate handle. Such a simple fix... thanks for the tip!

      I've found if you aren't fixing problems as they come up then your always having problems. lol We have a ton of deer here since there is no hunting allowed so I had to figure out a fix and it's worked quite well.

    Looking good Jason. I'm enjoying your cattle grazing videos. I agree it will be easier once you get those two herds together. I watch Greg Judy's videos also, and he is running quite a big herd now.

    Good job Jason, everything and everyone is looking great. That calf is awesome. I love the build of your cattle, short and efficient and they're in great shape.
    Man, be careful with those mommas and tagging calves!

      @Brent Eason Farms Thanks man, I'm trying to keep everyone fat and happy! I'll be glad when all the new cows are done calving and so you know I will skip tagging newborns if momma is acting too nutty. I just know it's a nightmare looking for calves that don't have tags, especially if you have very many. My original cows are so used to me tagging I won't be surprised if they help me tag their calves this year. lol

      @@GrazingAcresFarm Yeah, I got away with not tagging mine but it was just 4 so not hard to keep track of who is who. If a person had very many tagging most of them early on would be the easiest. Otherwise you'd about have to run momma and calf through a chute by the each and thatd be a pita.

    • @GrazingAcresFarm
      @GrazingAcresFarm 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Brent Eason Farms Yeah, I've done both and it's by far way easier and less time consuming to tag them when they hit the ground (or within 24 hours). I've learned if a calf is gonna disappear it will happen before 8 weeks of age, by 8 weeks they seem to understand moving with the herd. When they are under 8 weeks they spend so much of their time sleeping and that's usually when someone gets left behind.
      The down side for me this year is we are using up all the leftover tags so it's gonna get really confusing. I decided to make it a little easier I would write numbers on the back of the tags so I can keep everyone in order. Something about numbers in order make things so much easier. lol

    Dude, you have done a great job on that place. It looks beautiful as does your cattle. Nice young bull calf! Exactly what I planned to do in retirement. It don't happen in southern Utah. No rain!!

      I may have found it, Millie is fully Pharo which means her mother and father were cattle from Pharo Cattle Company. PCC specializes in raising cattle that thrive on only grass.
