Ahhhh the 70s we had the best tunes ever. Ambrosia " That's how much I feel" Player " Baby come back" 10cc " I'm not in love" Bobby Caldwell " What you do for love"
We never really realized the MAGIC all around us but when the 70s ended, there was a huge, immediate drop in shear talent. The difference between the greatness between the 70s and 80s was immense! BUt we thought there would always be great new music flowing in behind the 70s. Unfortunately, the 80s were terrible, made up mostly of bad ripoffs of 60s and 70s bands and people who did nothing but talk on stage.
Lead vocalist ---- David Pack Bass ---- Joe Pureta Drum ---- Burleigh Drummond Percussion ---- Royce Jones Sax --- Cornelius Bumpus Keyboard/piano ----- David C Lewis (on the right) Organ ---- Christopher North (on the left) Keep up the good work Chad, you have good taste in music!!
This band really had to struggle as it made its way through the tons of great 70s performers. By the late 70s they were beginning to break on through to the other side and dominate the 80s.
They sound fabulous live! Not too many can pull this off today! I appreciate music made during this time. Thankful we have TH-cam to help us keep it alive!
David Pack lead vocalist..the man has a very special voice...check out " How much I feel" another hit song from them. 💯🔥👌..Awesome reaction by the way👏👏
Ayyyy, Ambrosia is pretty fuckin good. Never until COVID-19 hit have I expanded my musical horizon's, but Ambrosia just hits the spot. Not even lying to you, it truly is 60's - 80's music that is getting me through this pandemic right now. Wish I knew about all these bands sooner as I now feel I have so much to catch up on haha
Hey Chad! I'm almost 54 (Dec.) I grew up listening to the Bee Gees and other great musical acts. Anyways, you ever heard of the group "Bread"? Well they're one of my favorites also from the 70's. One of them groups you can listen to all day long liked the Bee Gees. Couple of songs you may like or react to. "Everything I Own", "Make It With You", "Baby Im'a Want You" and "Guitar Man" are just a few. I promise, if you haven't heard these guys or songs, you'll love them. I just see your appreciation in music, and I know you appreciate this group. Thxs, Tim
Chad, you really need to react to Three Dog Night. They were one of the super groups back in the 70's. Their song Shambala is fantastic. Also listen to One, Black and White, Old Fashioned Love Song, Never Been to Spain, Joy to the World, Nobody, Mamma Told Me not to Come, and the list goes on and on. They were a great group.
Ambrosia's greatest hit by far, was Holding on to Yesterday, which you can get here with the lyrics. From my neck of the woods, this song hardly ever played on the pop stations I listened to, and it seemed almost exclusively to dwell on hard rock stations, even though it's not hard rock at all. It's been a VERY elusive song for me, for it was one of those I would hear pieces of, loved it, but could never get the name, or the group that did it, out. This went on for over forty years, it ever taunting me. Finally, I tried to work out what few words I understood into the youtube search engine, and while what I had didn't make it easy, I finally found it that way. th-cam.com/video/nu_qFzsPOzg/w-d-xo.html The last taunting I got with this song, believe it or not, I heard as elevator music in a hospital (literally in an elevator) and this inspired me to try looking for just a mere phrase of the lyrics.
Hey Chad, great reaction and song. Ambrosia is fantastic check out more of them, you won't be disappointed. The kettle drum question, they are congas. They sound like their in the studio live each one so strong but not getting in each others way so tasteful. Another great song by them is Your the only woman. New sub, much love! :)
_Yes, I get that comment from alot of people! On one video, I explained that I lost my job as a television host and now my status is just a youtube reactor, lol._

This was just radio. We didn't know who they were unless we bought the LP and read the liner notes.
I remember this one, didn't remember the group's name until I listened to this. It is good.
