    In spite of the fact that in past years we evaded models that cost more than $200, we tried two famous extravagance toasters for our 2018 update to perceive what all the promotion was about. The Dualit 2 Slot NewGen Toaster resembled a steely fortification that could toast well past the normal human life expectancy, yet its restricted, simple settings made it troublesome and clumsy to utilize. The Dualit's toasting dial has only four levels, however in our tests we were unable to discover one setting that made brilliant earthy colored toast. We wished it had all the more sautéing alternatives. You need to physically recover toast from the Dualit-it won't spring up all alone, and there's no clock clamor. It additionally took up twice as a lot counter space as a portion of the littler toasters.

      It could be cheaper over time to buy the more expensive one i guess.

    I have a Dualit toaster that my parents bought back in 1996. The reason why they're so expensive is because they're built by hand in England using some durable parts. If ours has lasted 22 years and counting, one can only guess how long yours will last!

    • @skwalka6372
      @skwalka6372 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @marcup1584
      @marcup1584 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I mean, sure, it lasts 30 years, and I can appreciate something crafted to last forever. With that said, for THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS, it makes no financial sense at all unless you really just want it out of principle. Any "crappy" $20-30 toaster will still last you a few years (or several, mine is 7 years old now) before it breaks down, you can replace it 10 times and I guarantee you can last longer than you will be alive for before you spend $300+ on toasters.

    • @TheOtherGuy5150
      @TheOtherGuy5150 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@marcup1584 I get your point, but I probably should've clarified something. Dualit makes their toasters such that they're fully repairable. A $17 Amazon toaster will certainly get the job done, but once it craps out, that's it. No fixing, no parts, and you have to buy a new one. Everybody has a right to their own preference. I personally like things that you can fix and get an understanding of how they work; it gives me the confidence that the appliance will last me a long time, even if it's more expensive.

    The value in the Dualit toaster is longevity. All of the parts can be replaced. So it will last forever. How long will the $20 one work?18 months? I've had my Dualit for 10 years plus and it's still going strong and looking amazing!

      Replacing the elements in a 4 slice Dualit toaster will cost you about forty or fifty bucks. I've had a Tesco toaster that cost under twenty quid for over twenty years. Even so I WANT a Dualit Combi 2+2, but it's very difficult to justify.

    About the red toaster: that is nog the front. the red parts are the front. Depending if you want to have the lever on the left or the right side. So the cable is left or right, depending on how you put your toaster on the counter.

    I don't know what I expected watching two Americans trying to use a traditional well engineered British appliance. In fact a professional catering standard toaster. They don't understand the very simple controls, twiddling them this way and that, and don't get the 'peek and pop' lever which allows you to check your toast to ensure it's done to perfection. They don't get the quality, replaceable parts, longevity. Id go as far as to say if I stayed in that apartment for longer than 20 minutes with them I'd end up throwing myself out the window !

      @@MansellIreland the problem is that the Dualit does nothing better than a $20 toaster, other than look better. The timer based toasting is woefully outdated. Even a $20 toaster has a sensor which adjusts heat, so that for example, back to back toasts can be set at the same heat setting and come out consistent. Not so with the Dualit.
