- 🇻🇳 I know, it's been a hot minute guys... I haven't uploaded a video in nearly 2 months. The majority of Vietnam has been on lockdown, and Hanoi was on an extremely strict lockdown. We couldn't go outside except to go to the store, and even then it was quite difficult.
I wanted to stay longer so as to make more videos after lockdown, but I wasn't able to. I didn't want my first video I uploaded after this 2 month break to be me leaving Vietnam, but alas, sometimes things don't always go the way you want them to.
Here's to Vietnam. This incredible country gave me a start in life. I moved here right after I graduated college, and have been able to grow a personal brand for myself here. I love this country, its history, people, culture, language, and everything else. Good or bad, Vietnam has been my home for the past 2 years, and I'll truly miss it.
Don't worry, I'll be back! But it will be around a year. I'll be traveling to many other countries between now and then, so the content will not end here! Rather, this is just the beginning of a new saga. I hope you'll join me for the ride.

I know it’s been a while! Vietnam has been on lockdown, and I decided I did not want to make videos at home. I decided it was better for the channel to stay true to the content I’ve been making. I know being gone such a long time, views will go down, but they will go back up, that’s the name of the TH-cam game :)
I know this will come as a surprise to some of you that I’m leaving Vietnam. It’s time for something knew! I love Vietnam, and Vietnam is one of my second homes! But for now, I want to continue to explore the world and travel while I still can. Corona has taught me how important time is. I’m going home to get vaccinated and I’ll be traveling the world to produce content, so don’t worry, the fun will continue! I have some awesome content planned, and I’m also learning some new languages for the countries I’ll be visiting. It’s gone be awesome! Im sad to leave, but I also know I’ll be back! So please, don’t be too sad, be excited for what is to come!

Khá lâu rồi mình ko đăng video các bạn nhỉ. Giãn cách xã hội gần 2 tháng, mình quyết định ko quay video ở nhà, để mình tiếp tục giữ lại hướng đi mới của kênh này, là du lịch, văn hoá, và con người, thay vào những video chỉ về bản thân mình. Dù view sẽ giảm, nhưng mình đã chấp nhận điều đó. Nó sẽ lên lại thôi.
Mình biết là nghe tin mình rời Việt Nam sẽ làm mọi người khá buồn. Nhưng mình muốn có những trải nghiệm mới! Mình yêu đất nước Việt Nam, và mình coi Việt Nam như là nhà thứ 2 của mình. Nhưng hiện tại, mình muốn đi du lịch những nước khác, khám phá những văn hoá mới. Đại dịch này đã cho mình biết thời gian nó quý giá như thế nào, và mình muốn tranh thủ đi khi mình vẫn còn đi được. Mình đã tiêm mũi một ở bên Mỹ và sẽ tiêm mũi thứ 2 sau vài tuần. Sau đó những chuyến đi ở những nước mới! Mình khá buồn vì đã rời Việt Nam, nhưng mình khá vui vì sắp có thể đi những nơi mới mẻ! Mình cũng sẽ quay lại Việt Nam, các bạn yên tâm! Đối với chuyến đi sắp tới này mình đang học những ngoại ngữ mới của mấy nước khác, cho nên chuẩn bị có những video cực kỳ thú vị nhá!

So strange Chris. I left VN in 2012 being really sad too. I left thinking I'll go back every year or two years to visit during the Summer but haven't been back since. The last 3 years have been really hard as I actually bought tickets and booked hotels but had to cancel due to extraordinary circumstances, 2 of which are covid related. I don't mean to not be supportive and encouraging but I still miss VN a lot, a lot more than I thought I would be when I left in 2012. Maybe that's because I moved back to the US and see the craps over here now. I hope you will move to a good country that will be very nice and take your mind off VN. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your VN videos Chris over the last few years, to see a good open minded person appreciating and benefiting from a generous and kind country like VN and its people. You'll go far in your life with your open-mindedness and will enjoy many more cultures. Take care, safe travel.

@Hai Hong Thứ 1, m nói ra từ bắc kỳ, nam kỳ hay trung kỳ thì k 1 ai trên cái đất nước VN này tôn trọng m nữa k cần biết m bao nhiêu tuổi vì sao người ta k tộn trọng m vì m đéo b gì về lịch sử nên m mới nói như thế, m chỉ thấy những ng xung quanh nói và mày bắt chước theo, Thứ 2 tao k sống trong quá khứ để có thể chứng minh đc m nói thật hay nhồi sọ và tao k cần phải kiểm chứng điều đó vì cs VN có ác cỡ nào cùng k bằng Mỹ thả 2 qua bom nguyên tử xuống Nhật Bản đâu và rất nhiều thứ khác nữa, thứ 3 là m biết vấn đề ở đây là gì k, là chế độ nào k quan trọng, điều quan trọng ở đây là m đang lười nhác, m k làm việc, m ngồi nhà lên mạng và sống trong cái quá khứ tự nhục mất nước của m và m cay cú với điều đó bằng hành động đi rêu rao tuyền truyền khắp nơi với bọn con nít chưa cai sữa, vì VN có là chế độ nào thì cũng k liên quan đến 1 thằng sống ở Mỹ hoặc sẽ định cư bên Mỹ cả, cái mày nên quan tâm là lên án những điều chưa tốt của chính cái nơi mày đang sống hoắc sẽ sống là chính quyền Mỹ kia kìa hay mày k biết tiếng Anh, mà cái tiếng Việt bập bõm của mày thì nhồi sọ đc ai ngoài đi lừa mấy đứa con nít não còn chưa phát triển, thôi nhá cứ tiếp tục với cái sự cay cú của mày đi, còn người hiểu biết họ còn đang cày đang kiếm tiền tối mắt tối mũi kia kìa, đéo ai quan tâm m nói gì đâu, thắng làm vua thua làm giặc, đã thua rồi thì quân tử nhận thua, thua mà còn đéo nhận còn thù dai thì chỉ là thứ tiểu nhân, ng khác k thèm chấp m đâu.

I know how you felt departing Vietnam.....very hard to leave such a lovely country like Vietnam. I still have fond memories of when I departed Vietnam my second time back in 1973. The wife went through the same emotions when she finally departed a few months after me. We both wish you all the best and have faith that things well return to normal soon for the entire planet.

I've been an avid viewer of your contents and I have enjoy your journey quite a lot thus far. I'm an engineer, and a Vietnamese, have been working and studying in the US for 16 years (I arrived in the US when I was 14). Being a fellow STEM student and as language learner, and as a person who shares the US/VN as my home countries, I thought there would be many things in common that we could talk about. I was thinking I would go back to Vietnam one day and hopefully meet you in Saigon/Hanoi, but due to Covid that weren't meant to be. But who knows, we may cross paths one day haha. Whatever you do, good luck on your journey and god speed!

I was happy to finally see a new video, but sad that you are having to leave a place you felt was a second home to you. It's obvious you have made many friends and your videos are testament to the many good things you did while there. If it is your wish after you return home to return to Vietnam when it is safe to do so, I wish you a safe return. I will miss your VN videos and the fluency you demonstrated with a difficult language. Having said all that, I'm sure your parents and family will be as happy to see you as your friends in VN were sad to see you go. My best wishes to you in the future.

I am so sad that you leave VN Chris. But I think it is is the right decision given the circumstance. The Covid pandemic is the peak in VN right now whereas in America, they have gone through it already and they start the recovery road and it is safer there at the moment. My heart aches when I see VN and other countries aren’t the same they are before. The way people used to enjoy their peaceful life has gone, we just hope VN will come out from this terrible crisis.
