Idk if maybe I’m not as good at looking at games and judging their level of polish but this is looking pretty nice to me. This comment is very important truth be told. Especially as someone who was an Early Access player for a certain game for 2 years +. Polish comes with the finished game. Early Access is going to have some junky animations or textures or bugs. If you expect a completely polished game for Early Access then you should look up what early access means, it will get better, but you should know what you’re getting into before buying Early Access.
@Blue_124th Exactly. Truth. Early access stress tests everything, graphics, the controls, rendering, loading screens, it will have glitches and bugs, clipping, problems with routing. I don't agree that early access should be pushed back again, I think that people who want this to be a polished game just shouldn't buy it in early access. The whole point is to iron out the kinks while getting feedback from the player base. What is the point in completing and polishing the game only to then have to change everything? I think you might have judged this game too harshly and you might be comparing it to a finished game when clearly it isn't finished yet.
Your right it’s with every game I played rdr 2 online beta well that was glitching and stuff like that like gta V online too in the beginning days. Just because it is glitching clipping or stuff like that does not mean it’s a bad game. And some games are sometimes glitching. But like I said I agree with you don’t judge a game that is not polished and still is in closed beta
I guess I'm the only one who literally couldn't care less about the clipping issues. I just don't really see it as an issue at all. All Sims games have had clipping, it's never bothered me at all. Cars are driving through each other? They did in TS3, too. And hey, at least we're getting cars.
frankly considering the biggest issues seem to be graphical ones, i'm pretty impressed. graphics are important, sure, but you need to make sure you have an actual working game or else graphics mean nothing. i'm sure they'll fix up the clipping but for an early access game that doesn't seem too buggy otherwise i'm fine with it

Visually, if we're being completely honest and looking at other video game titles on the market, Life By You still has a long way to go with getting the artistic direction down. EA has fumbled The Sims franchise so badly to the point that there's a hole in the market due to the monopoly they had for years on the Life Sim genre. Time for some fresh, motivated games to get a piece of the pie!
The thing that’s stood out to me the most about the characters is their arms. I can’t put my finger on exactly why I don’t like them but there’s something off about them
Early access is for unfinished works in progress which I think some people forget. A little but if clipping for an otherwise playable game is not a reason not to proceed with Early Access. It’s a Beta work in progress.
@@Sim-dil-e-iciousIt’s advertised as a beta work in progress…early access is explained on Steam as access to a work in progress, I am selectively not buying it in until kids and teens are present, but that is my only hesitation. But anyone who literally CAN’T READ what early access is despite the multiple descriptions of what it is needs to spend less time on games and more on reading comprehension. Everyone else is spending their money on the game BY ChOICE knowing it is a beta and not a release. Palworld is in Early Access now and people are having a blast with it. Coral Island and Balders Gate 3 had an early access period and later released full games. When used properly for player feedback and players participate knowing it’s a Beta project being worked on with a full release date later, it can be a great opportunity to get the game to a finish state with the most player satisfaction. It’s only an issue where it’s something like City Skylines 2 where it was advertised and released as ‘the game’ when it should have been released labeled as Early Access. And project Zomboid which, while a great game with an active player base, has been in early access for ages.
@@Sim-dil-e-icious Early Access description "You are buying it early, when many bugs are still present, and you are in the early stages of the game where the developers are still trying to get everything straight for the full release."
To be honest, I do not really care if the things in the game are good looking. The ganeplay will be so much better than in the Sims 4 and with more depth and this is the reason I like to play life simulation games, if it just looks nice but not brilliant, I am fine with it. And if it does not corrupt any save files like the TS4 😑
Same here I will gladly play with things looking worse as Life by You game play simply has more possibilities even at its current unfinished state. Though if you see the video after this one the world got a major overhaul the visuals here do it no justice.
the game has definitely improved in my opinion. you won't really be able to get the full scope just from watching the most recent video. they've showed off a bunch of other stuff in previous videos and they've stated many times that they're continuing to improve things and are making changes to things based on feedback. it's still in development, we shouldn't be expecting a feature complete, polished game from a still-in-development early access game, and we shouldn't be expecting everything to be perfect by the time early access releases. early access is *early access*. i'm personally really happy with how LBY is progressing, i'm super excited to see it grow once it releases :)
The world looks fine. Characters look weird. But if they can give us good gameplay that works and feels complete-ish I’m all for it. Excited to see LBY progress and honestly any other new life simulation game updates.
I like that purple hue. Also, this is early access things are going to happen. We play the sims with clipping all the time. And they have been around forever.
I know, like why are pretending like clipping is an entirely new deal breaking thing never seen before. Sims 4 clips like crazy lol, especially with CC.
@@Sim-dil-e-icious Because it's not a release, it's early access. The point of early access is to get player feedback to finish the game. People who don't want to participate litterally can wait until full release.
@@Sim-dil-e-iciousI don't mind them releasing early access. But I do think $40 is a lot for early access. But it does seem like the players are getting a lot for early access so maybe that's why.
@@Sim-dil-e-iciousYou keep calling it 'released' which is entirely missing the point of Early access. If people want a known game they will stick with the Sims, if people want a new game they know is still in development they will give LBY a chance and want to participate in shaping the game. Something they can't do with the Sims.
I honestly have no issue with the style. Yes it may not be as refined as sims 4, but i prefer gameplay over just pretty graphics. That's mainly why i don't want to play sims 4 anymore and find myself going back to older titles in the series. And if you're talking about the clipping are you realizing how much clipping sims 4 has? They are constanly walking through other sims if they are blocking the way and clip through walls and furniture all the time. And if life by you fixes what we saw as they said they are gonna be better than sims in that regard
what is EARLY ACCESS... you need to know the definition about it first. it's similar to open beta / beta testers. you really need to educate yourself about the definition of it before put a comment. and yes, for those who want to be a part of early access, make sure to get yourself ready to test the game, to give your feedback and make the game better.
I Think Adding Mischief, Mean Interactions & Consequences, Systems like Child Services for neglect, Firefighters to help fight fires & Police For Burglars, Deaths like Starvation, and or Flu Sickness's From Weather Could Be GREAT GAMEPLAY FOR FULL ACCESS I Love Storytelling and Building
Characters clip all the time in Sims 4 as well through each other I often see like 3 students spawn on each other clipping when showing up for high school.
I think the eyes are a bit to flat thus lifeless and off. It needs *more depth, stronger shadows* in the corners, to make it more 3D and alive. It’s a common mistake for young artists to draw/paint the white in eyes and teeth “too” white as the brain reads it as white and it’s scary to “darken” it too much.
@@Sim-dil-e-icious Not true at all seeing as he's already mentioned they are in fact making 2 new sliders to fix the issue and completely animating the faces.
The thing is there will be tons of townsfolks generated by the game, so I still want to see a good base for people I don’t make who exist for my characters to interact with. So it’s nice to be able to change what I want, but the game still needs good base model generator. I am not gonna slider every character in town.
@@TheDawnofVanlife Good point. I hated doing that in Sims 4 i had to redo all of the townies when they generated. How advanced games are now the characters should be well polished fr i really hope they're a lot more polished and the animations are more smoother that what we are seeing now.
@@HarryClipzFilmz As long as townfolk generated by the game in LBY don’t look like they got dressed in the dark and aren’t crazy physical perportions I’ll take everyone looking basic. 😅😅
Given the game is still early production and limited with budget…I think it is looking great. They will polish more and more as time (and profit) goes by. Definitely getting early access as I am so fed up with The sims
Thanks for the preview… I don’t understand why you tell us to be understanding that it’s early access and then say you’re not a fan of some of the early access issues. You said it’s going to be clipping but then complained about clipping. Make it make sense.
in case you didn't notice, sims 4 has a lot of clipping issues too. I would rather LBY start early access in March so they can gather more useful feedback from people actually playing the game and implement those fixes. As a developer myself, its easier to fix an issue if you are given the steps to reproduce it within the game rather than just a bunch of words saying something is wrong
@@Sim-dil-e-icious Sims 4 is a 10 year old game, that's still full of problems EA hasn't even touched for years. Are you arguing, that the older the game is, the more it's excusable for it to have problems?
this game has improved by leaps and bounds in my eyes. The biggest issue to me was the lighting and they seriously improved on that. It also seems like the animations are much smoother and the world and objects are much more polished. the clipping with the cars were actually a good sign to me, mainly because it showed that the transportation methods actually interact with each other. when one car slows down so does the one behind it, it doesn't just clip and drive through the car in front
Generally it looks fairly promising. What concerns me is the lack of an action queue, like being able to tell your person to make food while they're still going to the bathroom. Having to wait until an action is complete to select another worries me. Especially since it sounds they decided against that aspect already (maybe if it's enough of a concern during early access they will revisit this) but it's an aspect that if it doesn't get added later, feels like a possible deal breaker for me anyway.
I think they should be able to drink on the job. It would give a reasonable consequence to be fired. We need things like that to make the life simulation game to feel more interesting and dynamic
What’s up w people n the graphics… you guys really act like the sims 4 has the most extremely amazing graphics when it’s trash compared to other games. 😂
@@ladylush7931The Sims look fine without CC, what are you on about. Most of the CC I use is modded objects to fix the ACTUAL problem, the gameplay. Any issues people have with how the Sims look an issue of personal taste, not design. The children in Sims 3 look like demon spawn, but I honestly get so caught up in the gameplay I barely think about it when I am not staring at them in CAS. Where as Sims 4 Sims look ok, but I am frustrated trying to get them to do something as simple as get their infant from the yard and bring them inside because they keep canceling commands.
@@Theescapist_87for you is the point, it was implied most people see the look of the Sims as unacceptable when probably more than half the Playerbase is fine with how they look and plays without CC alterations to the art style, but nearly everyone is unhappy with how they play not how they look.

@@Sim-dil-e-icious The Sims 4 is not in early access but it should be because it's clearly broken af. At least the LBY team knows that their game isn't ready for full release yet and is very open about that instead of charging full price for hundreds of broken expansion packs and kit packs. What a waste of time and money.
@@Sim-dil-e-icious Okay, well a lot of game naivety here. This game is NOT being released. It's going into early access. Early access is not release. Early access is an UNFINISHED state, as the tin says, and it's a time period for devs to finish and polish the game with player feedback. That's what early access is all about. The Sims 4 was a FULLY RELEASED game, at full price for a shit unfinished game. And that state was never acknowledged by EA. This is unfinished, yes, but it's being marketed as an unfinished game, sold as a unfinished game, with the PRICE TAG of an unfinished game. THAT is the difference!
if i have to be brutally honest god damn the characters aren’t really comfortable to look at, i don’t know why but their hands looked so short and the head seems too big, there must be something about their proportions and even the ui too, but the gameplay tho, it’s looks really interesting!
I'm a big fan of city builders and (life)sim games, and could accept some graphical flaws if the gameplay makes up for this. This game just looks 10 years old already though. Also the UI looks very messy and outdated and contains A LOT of information you maybe aren't interested in at that time. Besides all this, I think this game will ask too much manual customization from the player beforehand, which could ruin the immersion you would rather want to feel right from the beginning in a (life)sim game. I could be wrong about all this of course and is just my opinion, but it does makes me a lot less excited for this game than I thought I would be when I first heard about it.
if the only issues are a few visual glitches or some clipping i think that’s a great sign. i’ll be honest i wanted nothing to do with this game when i first heard about it but now im soooo excited to play it! it is just early access, not full release so i understand certain things aren’t going to be perfect and that’s okay! the gameplay is going to be good i bet and the graphics and lighting of it are literally unrecognizable from the first time i saw this game (which is a very good thing) i can’t wait!
I honestly think the game looks really good from what we've seen earlier. Definitely worked on lighting and environment. But lots to improve upon of course. Nevertheless, I am very excited to get my hands on it. I feel like this is likely going to be a game you can easily get lost in.
i think the characters proportions look like when you draw a human from memory and no reference. theyre like still human but the proportions are ever so slightly off. regardless i really can’t wait to see more of this game!
Thankyou for being honest there is a lot of people who just blindly going along with this game and not acknowledging the lack of change. I'm very disappointed also this game has not come further with its development the humans still look off
All you mentioned is in the works or planned for change. The stiffness is being corrected with another slider for shoulder and back the face will be made lively with more movement and texture as well as the eyes are being overhauled to track better at what they look at. If you played Sims 2 it's pretty much what they have in mind for that in my opinion the best any Sims game has handled eye movement.
the main thing i hated was the lighting and im so glad to see it fixed. it looks so much nicer now. i wish they fixed the lighting on the characters too
Right now i can't stand the sims, but my hated for it will not make me pretend to love some other game out of spite..... I did put hope in LBY but I'm not going down that bs road again with another struggle game..... I'm sick of life sim games boring me, irritating me, disappointing me, and wasting my time. They call them life sims and they don't even have life in them with hardly anything in them as dynamic as life itself being limited and lacking. They say make the games however you want and you cant even customize over 80% of any of these games, i want to make worlds and unique people. I hate how unimaginative they are...... I want things like freckles to exist in these games, give me customization details like games like Eve online, but no instead they're asking people to squeal over fucking vitiligo, something far rarer than freckles not to mention isnt even a genetic thing, it's a skin affliction caused by an immune response..... Why aren't there any freckles, cleft chins, teeth gaps, widow's peeks, things of that nature that are dominant genes, instead all the characters have nothing special about them, everyone's the same standard look, but sure hand me vitiligo, a thing that you rarely ever see in life not to mention not everyone even wants to make characters with it, they might as well throw in extra fingers while that're at it, who'd want freckles and beauty marks >.>? Then there are the bugs and glitches...... The original sims were an actual life simulator, but ever since sims 4 the games have become less and less about actual life and more about dressing up and trying to make character "aesthetic", no gameplay, no deep creativity, and they've trained the lame modern fans who don't have any taste into calling it "dollhouse" when it was meant to be a life sim to justify these current games being dim and lame..... The life sim genre do not have the same drive, talent, or work ethic as other game genres, they've gotten more and more horrible over the years. Why do these current year devs even want to be in gaming? I feel like they don't even like video games half the time, if they're not preaching at fans then they're crying about how hard everything is. They should just work in a damn coffee house and leave gaming for actual talents.
I personally am satisfied how this looks for an early access build. I do hope to see more improvements to the characters themselves though, but I expect minor glitches to be in the game throughout early access.
🤷🏽♀️Why keep seeking an Early Access that has no bugs?! Early Access is not supposed to be “polished”. You’re missing the whole point in wanting a perfect game for Early Access.🤦🏽♀️
The outdoors looks incredible in the latest video. The humans, mainly the females, need some work still, but the environment is gorgeous and actually has 3D grass unlike the Sims 4 which has random clumps of grass sitting on top of flat sheets of green.
Since the appearance of the characters is the only thing putting me off this game, I hope that modders will be able to create skin overlays and CC eyes that change them. If so, I'll be all over this game =) Edit: After seeing the whole video, the clipping is also off putting... I hope it gets fixed...
I've always thought this game is too ugly for a 2023-2024 game, and since inZOI trailer came out I think LBY is even uglier. FOR MY TASTE, there isn't much they can do to make it look nice, so I really hope the gameplay turns out to be amazing, otherwise this will be a huge waste of money for me 🤦🏻♀
Enjoy the "pretty" shallowness of Inzoi going to be a dress up game for sure and not much else with insane pc requirements that will knock out 80% of the Sims players.
@@lance9249 Have you looked at LBY PC requirements? That applies to that same "80%" of simmers that won't be able to play inZOI according to you. On the other hand, inZOI has been in development for only 1 year and already looks like that, has nice animations and even has cinematics like The Sims 2, also zois can already get married and have babies, go to work, etc. There are a lot of streams/videos of gameplay on TH-cam already and it looks pretty awesome to me thus far, so yeah I will be very lucky to play that game 👌🏻 PS: my first comment was about big companies not using current technology/resources to make their games nicer when they even have people who have done better jobs before, I want games as good as The Sims or better, not worse. Paralives is doing a great job too and they are indie developers with much less resources.
The characters definitely look better than they did, but they still look like an upgraded version of sims 3 sims, with pudding faces, lifeless eyes, and everything is too shiny
That's an issue that needs fixed the problem is the height/arm slider. The characters are being created taller and instead of the arms growing alongside the height they remain the length you would expect of a shorter person.
I'm glad you are covering this game again but i'm getting kinda sick of people saying to push back early access again because the games unfinished. If yall want a full game then purchase the game at full release?? Idk why everyone else should not be allowed to play and help shape the game because some people dont want to play early access. Idk you just complain about the same things over and over even when the devs address it and its exhausting. Like they literally address most of your complaints in this very video. The game is not finished and they said in detail what they are working on improving, what more do yall want?
Truly anything. But this game destroys Sims 4 it was built without endless limitations. Life by You is a sandbox game like Sims 2 and 3 while Sims 4 is a set dressing staged photo's dress up game.

Same here as well. I will be leaving the sims 4 after this game comes out.
Besides, if the base characters don’t look the greatest (and they are being improved BTW), modders will always find a way. 🙏
@shyannekendra5589 I'm going to play LBY for a week and if it's as good as I think it may be, then I'm uninstalling Sims 4.
the game has definitely improved in my opinion. you won't really be able to get the full scope just from watching the most recent video. they've showed off a bunch of other stuff in previous videos and they've stated many times that they're continuing to improve things and are making changes to things based on feedback. it's still in development, we shouldn't be expecting a feature complete, polished game from a still-in-development early access game, and we shouldn't be expecting everything to be perfect by the time early access releases. early access is *early access*. i'm personally really happy with how LBY is progressing, i'm super excited to see it grow once it releases :)
And I hate the purple soooo much 😅
Dine out so broken lol
@@AlivetilltheEnd I know right the purple is throwing me off. Good thing I believe they allow us to change the color of the UI
Early access doesn’t mean perfect! Remember EA gave us the sims 4 and told us to deal with the bugs!
@@Sim-dil-e-icious Did you ask that with Sims 4?
And if life by you fixes what we saw as they said they are gonna be better than sims in that regard
what is EARLY ACCESS...
you need to know the definition about it first.
it's similar to open beta / beta testers. you really need to educate yourself about the definition of it before put a comment. and yes, for those who want to be a part of early access, make sure to get yourself ready to test the game, to give your feedback and make the game better.
i don’t mind the graphics at all, personally. i think they’re kinda cool
Why so many complaints about clipping? Sims 3 had a bunch of those and was still an incredible game, better than 4 by a ton
I admit I wasn't into LBY at first but I'm slowly growing to love it
I can see cc creators making custom body shape slider mods hopefully after release of the game
@@Sim-dil-e-icious what is EARLY ACCESS? educate yourself with that first before put a comment.
Definitely getting early access as I am so fed up with The sims
they look like base secondlife avis so as long as we get mods they are going to look amazing
The visuals still need to be improved alot imo! I'm excited for the gameplay
What’s up w people n the graphics… you guys really act like the sims 4 has the most extremely amazing graphics when it’s trash compared to other games. 😂
I think people need to be humbled by what the sims look like without CC. How quickly they forget lol
@@ladylush7931 The Sims without cc are terrible black line eyelashes. 🤮
@@TheDawnofVanlifeNah, Sims 4 is unplayable to me without CC skin. And that's not even including the ugly, thick, black lines they call eyelashes.
@@Theescapist_87for you is the point, it was implied most people see the look of the Sims as unacceptable when probably more than half the Playerbase is fine with how they look and plays without CC alterations to the art style, but nearly everyone is unhappy with how they play not how they look.
Yay!!
I was waiting for your video, Rod is too chaotic for me and i can't watch his videos 😂 and i also love how you point out things that i would totally miss!
Your complaints are kinda annoying. This is prepping for early access not the release of the game
We have all of these clipping issues in the sims a released game and y'all don't complain about it
Right, it's like "this is good, and this is great BUT THIS reeeeally concerns me so...push back early access even though I haven't really been checking for the game anyway"
@@Sim-dil-e-icious Dine Out has been broken since it was released did not need 10 years.
if i have to be brutally honest god damn the characters aren’t really comfortable to look at, i don’t know why but their hands looked so short and the head seems too big, there must be something about their proportions and even the ui too, but the gameplay tho, it’s looks really interesting!
I agree about the eyes. They are just not expressive enough.
I'm loving the amazing progress with life by you
if the only issues are a few visual glitches or some clipping i think that’s a great sign. i’ll be honest i wanted nothing to do with this game when i first heard about it but now im soooo excited to play it! it is just early access, not full release so i understand certain things aren’t going to be perfect and that’s okay! the gameplay is going to be good i bet and the graphics and lighting of it are literally unrecognizable from the first time i saw this game (which is a very good thing) i can’t wait!
Clipping was adressed in the recent Life by you video. So they are fixing that.
Let’s be honest, Sims 4 has perfect little trailers and buggy as hell packs (and game). *It’s very brave of LBY to show the actual game.*
I suggested that i just want them to polish up the clipping but mostly i think it looks good
Thankyou for being honest there is a lot of people who just blindly going along with this game and not acknowledging the lack of change. I'm very disappointed also this game has not come further with its development the humans still look off
Idk why I'm not digging the art style. Everything looks stiff, and the eyes do look off.
Graphics from 2010, and fashion from early 2000's lol - hopefully gameplay is good as graphics/style are not it.
Fashion now sucks you act as if older fashion is a bad thing.
the main thing i hated was the lighting and im so glad to see it fixed. it looks so much nicer now. i wish they fixed the lighting on the characters too
Right now i can't stand the sims, but my hated for it will not make me pretend to love some other game out of spite.....
Not you calling LifeByYou a Monet…LMAO 😂
🤷🏽♀️Why keep seeking an Early Access that has no bugs?! Early Access is not supposed to be “polished”. You’re missing the whole point in wanting a perfect game for Early Access.🤦🏽♀️
This is pretty good for Early Access tbh. finished game will be the polished one
Personally don't mind the clipping, As long as the game is playable we can all scream Eureka!
It seems interesting but I can’t with the graphics… but maybe it will get better idk 🤷🏾♀️
Have you seen their latest video showing the world? the outdoors doesn't even look the same as here so many visual upgrades to it.
The outdoors looks incredible in the latest video. The humans, mainly the females, need some work still, but the environment is gorgeous and actually has 3D grass unlike the Sims 4 which has random clumps of grass sitting on top of flat sheets of green.
@@lance9249 If I am honest, like the world STILL don’t like the characters. But I am willing to wait and see how early access pans out.
I'm just happy they're adding violence and more negative aspects to the game now
Since the appearance of the characters is the only thing putting me off this game, I hope that modders will be able to create skin overlays and CC eyes that change them. If so, I'll be all over this game =)
Edit: After seeing the whole video, the clipping is also off putting...
There are a lot of streams/videos of gameplay on TH-cam already and it looks pretty awesome to me thus far, so yeah I will be very lucky to play that game 👌🏻
PS: my first comment was about big companies not using current technology/resources to make their games nicer when they even have people who have done better jobs before, I want games as good as The Sims or better, not worse. Paralives is doing a great job too and they are indie developers with much less resources.
The characters definitely look better than they did, but they still look like an upgraded version of sims 3 sims, with pudding faces, lifeless eyes, and everything is too shiny
The one thing that bothers me the most about Life By You Characters are the length of the their arms, they are too short.
I’m sorry but anything is better than the sims 4 at this point
Truly anything. But this game destroys Sims 4 it was built without endless limitations. Life by You is a sandbox game like Sims 2 and 3 while Sims 4 is a set dressing staged photo's dress up game.
We’ll find out in for weeks Pixelade. But I’m ready to at least try. I’m definitely gonna make some videos
I think a reason why they look so lifeless is because they dont have eyelashes tbh
Or Pixel, dont tell us much, or Sims Team has nothing to say at all anymore lol😂😂😂😂
i dont care about bugs or clippings so long it fun to play and not to hard to use on the buttons
anyone know if early access will be available to everyone or just select people? and if its for everyone, where would we go to find it?
Steam. It's available for everyone, just like all early access games on Steam.
Everyone can get it on Steam or Epic Games

It is looking better but I am going to hold off for a review.
the home and the world look very promising! i find the characters to be…. so ugly 💀 but i’m just a fan of more cartoony styles, so i’m biased. excited to hear what people say with early access!

Why do you think it's a lost cause?
@@annelieseharrison9027 Its a hot mess as far as graphics is concerned
@@yasminheskey8981 Well, it's not fully complete. Many changes will occur during EA. So, I wouldn't classify it as a lost cause until after EA. But people who want the full game should wait two years until release because I doubt it will be out of EA after a year.
The argument that is being made is the graphics should have come a lot further then what it is currently and I have to agree that is the disappointment and people entitled to feel that considering the game been put on hold already. You would think by now it would have come a lot further comparing to other games in early access for example inzoi and sims games I do think game play will be good but the graphics should have come a lot further by now
