if my ears don't lie, the Pau Ferro has more bite and clarity and the Rosewood is mellower. So subtle! Imagine in a band mix, it's the same! Very good playing!! Good job!
Just ordered a player 2 precision bass from you guys a couple days ago, should be here next week, really looking forward to it. Big thanks to your guy Justin.
thanks for the demo. i just ordered a player II in aquatone blue. used to play a jazz bass and a stingray for years but needed a bass for recording and fell in love with the color.
Own two. The II and the Player Percision. Put HI Mass bridges. And vintage 62 pickups. Sounds good. Like the Jameson sound, I get the Marvin Gaye sound.
The Pau Ferro sounds better to me, closer to the bass sound I hear in my head, punchier. The Rosewood sounds like it might easily get lost in a band situation.
im just curious what you actually mean by saying pao farro is a more "versital sound" compared to rosewood? that sounds like an arbitrary statement to me.
... it's pretty clear they did something on the pickups: they sound a little more "round", warm than the Player I. I'd dare to say the Player II is a little closer to the vintage sound. Anthony is always 👍👍👍👍❤
I think I like the rosewood better but not really going to sell my player ones to get player twos . The only thing i might do is if they make a player II p bass in black I'll make my own Phil Lynott P bass and NOT PAY 12.5 K FOR IT.😅 P.S. If you really want a rolled fretboard edge Sire does it much better😮
That’s what I was thinking, rolled edges should be standard for basses at this price, Sire roll their edges for a fraction of the price, but a lot of people what that fender name and I don’t blame them I’m that guy too lol
@@bassimprovjams3772 some of the sire basses are higher priced the Player II basses. I have a V7 bass with a ebony fretboard and a P5 with roasted maple
The Pau Ferro is soft sound. For me I have a 2001 Fender's Standard Jazz Bass Midnight Blue Colour 4 String with the Rosewood Fretboard. I prefer Maple, Ebony, and Rosewood Fretboard because it has a smooth and softer sound and touch.
Player l sound better to me, not too modern like the ll, Especially for hip hop, I think Player l would work better, due to its closer tone to classic P bass.
Great job Anthony! Excellent comparison. I also like to just chill and listen to your bass playing.
I love my green Player 2 jazz bass, thank you Anthony, it came fast and in perfect condition. ❤

THANKS, ENJOY! I'll pass that along to him! - Anthony

Strong thumbnail!! That red and black looks so good! And I’m a black or natural kinda guy
Very nice demo! I like both, but I do hear a a bit more warmth with rosewood.

JAMERSON IS THE FATHER OF IT ALL!!! My all-time #1. Thanks for watching - Anthony
Question...any differences on weight?? Thx
Are the electronics and hardwears the same?
Great video comparison 👏
I do think the Pau Ferro has a little bit more top end (maybe the high mids?). I like the sound of it a little bit more.
Me too.
The Pau Ferro sounds better to me, closer to the bass sound I hear in my head, punchier. The Rosewood sounds like it might easily get lost in a band situation.
Player series are great, recently got the Jazz and from 6 bases I currently have become #1 to go. Considering to go for P....
Nice playing. I prefer the Player rosewood, P-Bass. It has a little more articulation to me. Both sound good.
Thanks for watching - Anthony
They sound pretty much alike to my ears, the Series I sounds a more blurred tho.
Did they also update the pickup for the Player II?
Respect! Thank you Anthony!

Anthony is always 👍👍👍👍❤
Well.. Rosewood would have a large hand in that aspect as well. Thanks for watching - Anthony

Even the Squier CVs have rolled edges.
the rosewood is smoother sound, i do like the bite of the pau farro , not as bright as maple

Yeah P bass for the win.
ALWAYS! Thanks for watching - Anthony
They both have Fret Buzz 😂
yeah, almost anyone doing demos or reviews has tons of fret buzz, idk why ppl like it so much :D
A bit of fret buzz can sound great in a mix.
He usually sets them all up like this
If you play a p with rounds unless you have lumberjack hands you gonna have fret buzz
@Trey-jl9ru my fender precision ultra doesn't have any fret buzz.
Notes sound clearer on 2.
Glad you could hear the difference!!!! Good ears! Thanks for watching - Anthony
The player II is warmer and has a crispier punch.
I asked the salesman at GC what he thought of the pau ferro, and he called it "a little anemic"
Im definitely getting another player 1. This video probably just sold the rest of them you have.
