    Greetings, today I made the purchase of the "Avantone Pro Active MixCube 5.25 Inches Powered Studio Monitor". However, afterwards, I started to wonder how I'm going to connect it to the versatile and fantastic "AudioFuse Studio" by Arturia, to which I already have 2 set of speakers connected: The "IK Multimedia iLoud MTM (Single) 100W, Dual 3" woofer Premium Compact Studio Monitor Powered Speakers" and another 2 of the same brand: The IK Multimedia iLoud Micro Monitor 50 watt Portable Wireless Bluetooth Studio Reference Monitors, Dual Speakers. The question I have is: how do I connect one "Avantone Pro Active MixCube 5.25 Inches Powered Studio Monitor" to the AudioFuse Studio interface?

    Hey man great video, just wondering about the stand you have the mixcube on is it just a mic stand normal speaker stand or is it a specific stand that fits into the hole underneath the mixcube?

    • @volversoundacademy
      @volversoundacademy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks a lot! It's just a regular K&M Mic Stand with a round foot. The Avantone Mixcube has a standard 5/8” mic stand mount, that will fit on any modern mic stand!

    Quick question:
    If I use a stand alone mono monitor speaker...what do I connect it with?
    a) two stereo (TRS) 1/4 cables?
    b) different type cables?
    c) a 'Y' cable that goes L/R out of my controller to a single in of the speaker?
    Thanks again

    • @volversoundacademy
      @volversoundacademy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey guys! That depends on your set up, the most important thing is that you have to send both the Left and the Right channel to the mixcube! You could do this with a "Y" cable, sure! Another way is going out of the headphone output on your audio interface using a TRS cable, that'll do the trick as well! Just always be sure L+R channels are sent to the mono speaker!

    Hello, great video. Is it fine to place the cube in the middle in front of my iMac, a bit below ear level on top of my desk. Similar to your setup except my iMac will be behind the cube on the desk. I have my Yamaha monitors on stands behind my desk 3 ft apart with me at the listening position 3ft in front of the desk.

    Some people prefer using 2 separate speakers to listen to stuff because thats how a lot of music was recorded. There is some stuff you hear through one speaker and some stuff through the other for a lot of songs, but some songs have everything in the middle where it comes through both speakers. Mono is ok sometimes for me for listening to music through a speaker but with good headphones or earbuds I need to hear both sides for me to be satisfied with the sound HAHAHA.

    Hi guys, I am looking at investing in a pair of passive Avantone mixcubes as I know someone selling them and will I will probably only end up keeping one and selling the other, however can anybody recommend a good amplifier to match the passive set without breaking the bank, any help is very much appreciated thanks

    I guess manufacturers make speaker units without protection so that they can make more money supplying replacements. Pretty sneaky.

    Hey Volver Sound, I have a question. I have a Roland JD-XI that I make music on, and it sounds great, and I been making music for a long time now, but for some reason the gain and resonances are way too harsh. I put down the gain in the main menu, but that crushes and dulls the sound, then when the gain is up, it sounds clear and punchy, but then the gain and resonance is so loud and harsh, and I have the resonance the whole way down. I even have a Boss RC-505 that I am using, and I turn the dynamic compression down, and it is still harsh and loud. It doesn't make sense to me at all. Does anybody have any advice on this?

    hey, very nice video :) i am thinking of getting one. Could you be so kind and tell me how you connect this speaker to a stereo output of an audio interface? cheers from switzerland, Felix

    • @volversoundacademy
      @volversoundacademy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The most important thing is that you have to have a switch to make the outgoing signal mono. Depends on which DAW you're in, but there are always options! Then you just get a splitter cable and Bob's your uncle!
      Glad you liked the video!

      @@volversoundacademy will it be okay just to use the headphone monitor output from my audio interface (focusrite scarlett)? Is there a difference in sound quality from the stereo output meant for regular stereo studio monitor?

    Can I️ just use the headphone jack on my interface leading to this speaker for the mono sound ? Thanks

    • @GoldenNuggetRec
      @GoldenNuggetRec 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      With this avantone mixcube, yes you can because it's "active" meaning it has an integrated power amp, but the original auratone 5c it's a clone of is "passive" meaning it requires an external power Amp to work properly which in your case would go between the headphone out and the speaker. But yes, the avantone mix cube can be run from a headpohone or aux out directly.
      When I was like 13 I used to listen to my Little Walkman CD player into these stereo speakers without a power amp cause I didnt know that was a thing at the time, and it was so quiet (and the speakers are probably from the 70s) I just assumed they didn't work and these broken speakers sat in my possession for 13 yaears cause they belong to my dad ( and make a good coffee table) and literally a week ago it clicked in my head, "hey those old speakers probably just needed a power amp" and sure enough they totally work fine lol

      @thedrunkenfish5855 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Golden Nugget Recordings lol glad you never gave them away thinking they were broken !!!!
      But thanks for answering my question. I’m running an Apollo twin interface now so luckily I have more inputs for monitors now so now I can actually switch between monitors without having to touch the headphone jack ha

    Mixing in mono is just one technique of many techniques that you will need to use to get a good professional mix that your target audience will enjoy. don't ever think you can just mix in mono on those little speakers and that's it, you will produce garbage
