Fast Trains Passing - Train Taffic at Leipzig/Halle Airport Station

Leipzig/Halle Airport has got a train station that is located along the high speed train route between Leipzig and Halle. Typically trains of suburban lines S 5 and S 5X stop here, and so do some of the Intercity trains between Halle and Leipzig. There are 2 tracks for the trains passing through (ICE trains between Leipzig and Erfurt and some of the IC trains), and 2 tracks with outer platforms for suburban trains and for the ICs that stop here. The high speed train route was built side to side with the motorway between Halle and Leipzig. So it's considerably loud here. The 2 outer platforms are equipped with platform roofs in the style of sun shelters.
One level above the tracks there is a direct access to the terminal area of the airport. You can also change to buses there.
On the other side of the street Flughafenallee there is a well restored airplane, type Iljushin IL-18. It is painted in the livery that was originally used by Deutsche Lufthansa of GDR.
A small funny detail: the station signs say "Halle/Leipzig Flughafen (Airport)". The printed timetables give the name "Leipzig/Halle Flughafen", and onboard the trains Leipzig is also announced first. So both cities get their share.
